Ok Cred Forums which one was the best asteroid-flick?
Deep Impact.
Realism is a factor.
Armageddon... Based Bay.
Also, stellar cast.
Ding ding ding, you are right and the double dubs confirm it.
Sorry but you are wrong. I asked what flick. If I want realism I would ask for documentary.
Armageddon because its a more enjoyable film,it has better visual effects, its tries to be funny. Better set pieces and better set piece destruction.
Armageddon.
>top ensemble cast
>fast paced, never gets boring
>great visuals that still hold up today
>godlike score

It's not even a fair comparison.

>Independence crashing
>Army ordering to fire the nuke before time
>Detonator getting fucked
>Engines not starting
That is literally half an hour you have to endure on the edge without blinking. I don't feel like that anymore on films. It's so obvious they are gonna win, I barely see any tension or panic nowadays. And if there is it's usually followed by long breathing calm scenes so it's like a kids rollercoaster more than like a freefall.
Sorry you are too stupid to understand a movie about a space rock.
That asteroid always scares the shit out of me for some reason.

I love the music that changes when it first comes into view. Creepy as fuck.
I like both.
Need to get Blu-Rays, but Armageddon BD is meh. No extras or DC cut.
Bay is an awful director, whose only purpose is to recruit for the US armed forces.
Stop this contrarian meme
>non good commie
This is a no-nu-male thread.
You can discuss Amelie in other threads.
Yeehaw! I too, live to serve the interests of corporate America and Israel.
>he has space dementia
>requesting permission to shake the hand of the daughter of the bravest man I've ever met
>I COULD FALL ASLEEP
As if there was any question
Armageddon is literally /ourflick/
Only women will choose Deep Impact because they are physically incapable of understanding Armageddon.
Basically this. Armageddon is 100% manly: astronauts, oil drillers and military personal doing dangerous as hell shit. Lev Andropov teaching women how things really work. Arwen being a good wife and daughter staying at home.
Armageddon managed to be entertaining while Deep Impact failed in pretty much every department. I'd love to see a great, realistic drama about an impact but it just failed, and I don't think there are others
Also, Armageddon had this guy
unironically that looks totally good still to my eyes.
Asteroids don't even look like that.
That fucking thing looks more like a cosmic deity or some shit.
>deep impact
>flick
What?
You're right this thread is fundamentally flawed because Deep Impact isn't a flick it's a movie and Armageddon isn't a flick it's a kino
>Affleck will never riff more movies
>armageddon isn't a flick it's a kino
I almost fall in your b8
Armageddon is in all seriousness my pleb filter. If you cannot appreciate over the top disasterkino then you are a maximum pleb.
It wasn't an asteroid, it was an Armageddon™®
>not posting the best
Armageddon is the literal embodiment of kino, numale pleb.
Anyone that answers Deep Impact is a cuck or a woman that will never get it.
literally this
post yfw Harry I love you
>all these plebs that can't appreciate an old fashioned Hollywood disaster ham-up with an unconventional plot structure
Armageddon is as forgettable as any other second-rate Bayshit.
daily reminder that the asteroid had the size of texas, not even all the world's current nuclear arsenal could make that explosion
thats why they had to drill. like a space-hand holding a space-firecracker. they had engineers on staff, it was legit science.
they're both nice, Armageddon is an American classic
ehhhh?
there is nothing on earth that can cut a 700 mile rock in two like that
I DON'T WANNA CLOSE MY EYES!!!
Love can.
JUST
they werent on earth bro
the nuclear bombs came from earth with them, friend
But they werent on earth.
that would not even come close to fragmenting a 700 mile diameter asteroid
AT MOST it would blow a crater a couple of dozen miles wide on whatever side you drilled it into
they just made it that big so the good'ol american drillers could stand on the damn thing, what a dumb movie

How do you know how nukes work in space?
Are you trying to say Armageddon is unrealistic? Because I won't hear any such nonsense!
I liked Armageddon more but Deep Impact scared me as a little kid because the things happening looked realistic, anyhow the scene were Liv Tyler says goodbye to her dad made me tear up.
