Nu metal
incubus are extremely plebby nu metal
Avant-garage.
Nah son, you just putted yourself as the pleb
nu metal is plebby by default.
ambient
>fusion
Grime
third wave post rock
Yes
Finally, someone else who knows that album and how great it is. I feel it's a disservice to call it hair or glam because it's really more progressive hard rock with funk tendencies but they kinda fell into that scene because of the label and earlier releases. Unfortunately people only know more than words which doesn't sound anything like 90% of their catalogue and the album after III sides was straight alternative.
Nuno Bettencourt doesn't get the appreciation he deserves.
Grimes
Not at all. As far as shredders go, he can hold is own with all of them but he actually has melody instead of just speed and a playing style all his own, not to mention he's a great songwriter and singer too.
>third wave post rock
worst grimes album
Stoner/Doom
Kill yourself (seriously)
Jazz Guitar
A worthy contender but he's not John McLaughlin
Sound-collage
That's first wave you idiot
Opera
Listening to this now. I'm 10 minutes in and it's absolutely fantastic. If the first track is any indication, I'd say this has more in common with sludge or post-rock bands like Isis than more stoner bands like Electric Wizard or Sleep. The doom part is undisputable tho.
Excellent recommendation either way. Thanks user.
neither of them are barney kessell, jim hall or joe pass desu
progressive minimalism.
ahem
you mean
>stoner/doom
first wave, you mean?
>big beat
for whatever that means
Post Punk
>trip-hop
>Scat pop
If you're going to use Sabbath as a contender for best stoner/doom, at least go with Vol. 4.
Psychedelic rock
thrash metal
Dreampop
>Slowcore
>Math rock
Bonus: Mike Kinsella played drums in Cap'n Jazz, which was the pinnacle of second wave emo
You meant midwest emo?
American Football was more math rock than midwest emo
are the vocals screamy
It made more sense for them to be midwest emo than math rock since there are better math rock album than that
That's not rust in peace
Pop-Rap
nah
vol.4 got no consistency, but I agree tracks individually are dope
S/T is a one day jam, very important to remind the roots of heavy blues smokey stuff, that's why it's pinnacle IMO
>I listen to Stoner Doom Metal
good me too
>no consistency
>compared to the debut
Clearly there's more "stoner" about you than just your music taste.
That isn't American Don
Don caballero 2>American don
I bet you listen to other genres too you fucking cunt.
mathcore
this user is wise
this one is not
It's not tho but ok.
No, they're all clean female vocals, except on the first track which features male, but also clean and melodic, vocals.
The twist being that the debut isn't really stoner at all.
Nah.
If you want to be wrong, suit yourself
See? This user knows what's up
Correct band, but Mezzanine is vastly superior.
ooooohhhhh shiiiieeeeeeet might be goood (since it's close to sludge and has clean vocals)
Math Rock/Post-Hardcore
Slam death metal. Fucking fantastic album.
I'm almost through with the album, and it has been excellent all the way so far. It's very heavy and doomy, but also quite beautiful and melodic. The musicianship isn't buried or hidden beneath ten feet of fuzz, and it strikes a good balance between viscera and melody. Best new discovery I've made in a while.
There are plenty of great math rock albums but american football is still the best
Could never get into Don Caballero, Hella was always my go-to other than am i a ball.
thats not black future
>american football is still the best
They only had one good album
That's not Terminal Redux
>but BF is definitely better than OI
that's not we are the romans or anthology of dead ends though
*blocks your path*
so did Nas but u still see people calling him top 5
hip-hop
Very good choice, that would be in my top 3 for the genre, though I still slightly prefer my pick.
top 5 rapper or that one album
Yes, and that one album was the best. I'm not really sure what argument you're trying to make here, I really don't see a correlation between number of albums released and quality of best album.
I can say that american football album is influential. But i dont see it as the peak of math rock
>hip-hop
Drone Metal
HEAVY metal
Sludge
Not math rock whatsoever
Listening to stoner metal and then talking down on people for being stoners
>whew
music
The "funk" aspect of Extreme is fraudulent. Sliding a chord one fret and back again to that bouncy rhythm is not funk. I know this is the standard "hey now let's hear how well this guitar can do funk" thing, but listen to Parlaiment or Funkadelics and nothing like this ever happens.
Bargain-bin core
Punk
Art Punk/Pop Punk.
Yeah, like, listen how diverse I am. I can do "funk", I am deep and down with the brothers too. No really.
>Art Punk
...
Hahahahahaha i was going to post this
live
blues
Glamrock
Post-punk
Pop punk
nah
I think I actually like Eighteen Hours of Static better
Both are great though
Black Metal
Blackgaze can't really be called "black metal." And even if you could, Transylvanian Hunger, Filosofem, Burzum (s/t), and De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas are all better.
>it's not funk unless I say so
Ok pal.
I gave examples of real funk that are the standard, so now the burden of proof is on you, faggot. Now find an example of that shitty "funk" riff occurring anywhere in an actual funk act. I'm waiting...
more like dead punk
i guess this is not the thread to post this but this is the first thread i saw , i'm looking for an album that has like a bridge on it's background , clear sky with a bridge and the camera is under the bridge pointed to it , the genre was like hardcore punk or some punk subgenre , i think the first song had "rust" in it or something
this is a quality post
nevermind , just found it , the album was

Man you must be fun at parties

Great taste man, my favourite Dungeon Synth album
I'll tell ya what's no fun at parties; generic "funk" riff. "Doo doo dooh do dooh do dooh dooh", naw, gtfo with that garbage, white boi!

Best hip hop album I've ever listened to.
plunderphonics
I didn't know there was so many alternate covers for Frances the Mute.
Frances the Mute isn't even the best Mars Volta album
I think it's their best album, maybe not best collection of singles, but best album.

You really like Chiastic Slide that much?
Autrchre fan here and I will say it's an underrated album
Good tries
Altered State>Inmazes
There aren't this many fucking genres.
Pretentious garbage.
I'm impressed. I would have to agree with this one over the others. Did that rerecorded album turn out well?
Dubstep
Yes
A contender for Blackgazing, sure, but Black Metal as a whole? No way, it goes to that one Mayhem album this guy said
Currents is better, but I don't think either of those albums are the pinnacle of psych pop
I love Hell
You couldn't be more wrong, user
Scatman world is the only good pop album
Their 8 EP? Yeah that did turn out well, I like it better than the original
AUS PUNK ROCK
urge everyone who like punk rock to give a listen

The only good thing to come out of dubstep

>"best thrash album"
>posts nu metal album
not even the best Pig Destroyer album
Psychobilly
>bro metal
THe point of posting "pinnacle of a genre" is to post albums that were the best of a whole swath of albums that came out around that same time. Dopesmoker was recorded in 95 but wasn't released until 99/03, but wasn't really listened to heavily until this decade, so its kind of a sleeper
Pleb
