All homes have holes in them. If they didn't you'd die overnight.
Homes built after ~2010 have "sealed" envelopes. And have complex intake and climate control systems.
But they're never actually sealed perfectly, and over time the seals break, and if anyone ever works on an exterior wall, it gets compromised.
