Here's a quick fact check:
1. if minimum wage goes to $15/hr a lot of minimum wage jobs will go away. Have you noticed the ordering kiosks in McDonalds? That's a minimum wage job going away.
2. Additional taxes on employers for full time employees will probably also go up (ala health insurance requirement in ObamaCare). Meaning even fewer people will have full time jobs, making it harder to attain a 'living wage'.

Let's say you work making widgets for a company. What you get paid should be what the widget sells for minus the parts you used to make the widget, minus the cost of the floor space you used, minus the cost of marketing and minus the cost of managing you and that space.
It's not a matter of I should make X just for showing up, you've got to do something that make you showing up profitable for the company. The owners take all the risk in designing widgets and hiring you and also need to be paid back, what they do with that money is up to them. You don't like that they have jets? Tough. Go make widgets for someone else then, but you still have to make that other company a profit.

Think of companies as animals. They must hunt, and they must eat. Each employee must generate enough 'food' for the company that it can 'feed' both that employee, and 'feed' the overhead that employee generates.
They can 'feed' the company by either generating profits directly by making or selling products or by making others in the company more efficient.
If the group of employees in a company do not generate enough 'food' the company starves, if the company starves long enough it starves to death.
Got it? Now just substitute 'money' for 'food'. That is how EVERY company works, there is not alternative. Even socialist companies in communist countries must eventually pay their own way or they will eventually bankrupt the country.
