They would have flown the magic carpet into a building.

>Wins Oscar for completely recreating the late Robin Williams voice digitally

Genie would have a different voice.

Jasmine would wear a burka.

Robin Williams wouldn't be here to carry it so not nearly as well

Different pop culture references? Idk....it could have the same ones to appeal to the older peole who came with kids

The alt right would throw a shitfit about disney promoting middle eastern culture

this

they're already changing jasmine's outfit at disney parks because the original is "problematic"

It would be 3D CGI.

A subplot. Where the Sultan would have been more "Patriachal" and opressive towards Jasmine and she will find "liberation" through Aladdin's carefree nature and become a feminist icon whilst looking like a whore.

>literally just brown elsa now

Jasmine would be giving a much more featured and "stronger" role, probably featuring a solo song.

Iago would have turned good by the end.

Genie would appear dressed as Elsa at one point.

they'd probably just get dan castlevania like in the tv series

Nah, it'd need a marketable celeb or broadway star for the movie if it was released today.

Probably a fat one. What fat comedy actors can sing?

Jack Black

seth macfarlane?

> seasonal outfits just like every other fucking princess

You're retarded

>What fat comedy actors can sing?
Stephen Seagal

Dan Castalenetta cast as a Genie. Movie cancelled in preproduction because a girl not wanting to be treated as property in a muslim society goes against the Liberal doublethink that Muslims are poor innocent victims in all circumstances, rather than the psychotic violent animals who practice slavery, and generally use rape and murder like salt and pepper

>would have been named GENIE or WISHED
>genie would be voiced by another guy bless his soul robin williams ;_;
>they would give jafar a redemption arc
>the animated series would have never existed
>sjw will complain why jasmine dresses like a harem whore

>ISIS and muslims in general going full retard at Disney theme parks
>SJWs declaring how racist Disney is and that Walt was a literal and figurative nazi
>Dumbo the elephant hijacked and flown into Epcot
>Sam Jackson voices Genie
>Jasmine rarely speaks and looks like a black blob with eyes
>Eago yells Allah ackbar all the time

Conservatives boycott Hollywood

Genie would be a blue family guy.

Yep, that's it. Anyone who thinks people would have a problem with this movie are somehow living under the delusion people had a problem with a Aladdin and it was banned from broadcast when 9/11 happened.

I'd like for you to point out a single Disney movie that's even remotely what you described.

Checkmate atheists.

>Jasmine would be giving a much more featured and "stronger" role, probably featuring a solo song

How the fuck could they possibly give her a "stronger" role when the point of her character was being a independent woman that wanted to choose her own fate? Did any of you assholes in this thread even watch the damn movie?

The Little Mermaid

There was controversy when the movie came out because Aladdin and Jasmine were "too white." They would both probably be darker-skinned and Jasmine's outfit would be less revealing.

Also, it would probably be all CG instead of 2D animation.

I've meant that it would have more emphasis on the gender roles, as well as criticizing the Islamic faith.

They could get Tenacious D.

Pic related would never happen if the movie was released today. She was helpless and the only thing she could do was seduce Jafar as a distraction, so Aladdin could rescue her? Disney would think it'd make her look too weak, and feminists would hold it up as the pinnacle of Disney's misogyny. They'd have Aladdin show up to see Jasmine's gotten into a kung-fu fight with Jafar and soundly beat him, before they recreated this scene.

Underrated post kek

Thread should've ended here

>Tenacious G...enie Twins

I want this.

...

I actually got in an argument with a girl at Uni about this scene. She argued that Disney villains were portrayed as queer, therefore "queer-ness" was drilled into the heads of children to be equated to "EEEEEVIL".
I asked her to name one villain for whom that's even remotely true.
This is who she came up with:
>That lion with the scar
>That guy with the staff in Aladdin
>Ursula
>Dr. Facilier

I asked her to give me the names of Scar and Jafar - she couldn't. She admitted that she had never seen either movie and never would. Because patraiarchy.

So what makes them queer?
>They wear eyeliner and are portrayed as lean and weak and cunning. Except Ursula. It's her hair that gives her away. Also that she's unhappy in Merperson society.

So being queer means you do any of these things? They can't just be power hungry underdogs in their society?

She literally didn't get that the eyes for Facilier and Jafar are highlighted because they're hypnotists, and that it's not eyeshadow but they've got really sunken in eyes. Because clue for EEEEEEVILness.

People would call it a Thief and the Cobbler rip-off.

She probably read that information from somewhere else.

But wasn't Ursula based on a drag queen?

Divine

Hmm

Prince John is a manchild with no mane and King Richard is a man's man with a full mane.

That's not enough for queerness though, hell it's Robin and Little John who literally dress up as women

So no dice

Facilier isn't a hypnotist, though. His sunken in eyes are a way of showing his poverty, along with his ill-fitting pants, crazy rats nest of hair in an era where African-American men wore their hair short and slick, and vest but no shirt.

>dan castlevania

What is a djinn? A miserable little pile of wishes!

Glenn Slater's lyrics wouldn't be nearly as good as Howard Ashman's.

Ariel doesn't feel the least bit like she is under her dad's thumb and does whatever the fuck she wants all the time. The only thing he really forbids if her is surface stuff and she has been doing that shit since before the movie

>I asked her to give me the names of Scar and Jafar - she couldn't
When I saw lion with scar I thought there was some other lion I didn't know about like another scarred evil one in the sequels not the original badass lion
>>They wear eyeliner and are portrayed as lean and weak and cunning.
Cunning is a homosexual trait?

Highly satanic TRASH

It would take place in China like the original story.

Ursula was modeled on a drag queen and Iron admitted he voiced Scar as kinda gay so those two are gimmes.

>Covering up Jasmine and Ariel's mid section and cleavage.
>Claiming the change is a positive thing to help body conscious girls.

>Meanwhile Tarzan is still ripped as fuck, and running around half naked.

I wonder why feminists haven't bitched about Tarzan??? Hummmm, I wonder. I thought they were all about equality for both genders. Really makes you think doesn't it.

I'm sure they're going to get right on it any day now r-r-right....

It always bugs me when people don't realize the characters in the story of Aladdin were supposed to be Chinese(although still Muslim)

top fucking kek at "dan castlevania"

Don't be silly. If it wasn't for the double standard, these sorts would have no standards at all.

Oh good someone else mentioned this

>sex-starved anti-feminists literally whining about proper standards in a KIDS COMPANY

Ignore the fact that your "argument" boils down to false-equivalency, you are idiotic beyond reason on principle.

>>Claiming the change is a positive thing to help body conscious girls.

nobody is claiming that but you. you're making up your own narrative. If you feel so strongly about it then why dont you complain to Disney to change it back for " reasons".

Sometimes male villains in cartoons are like cliches of flamboyant, elegant rich men of European nobility/royalty.

tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SissyVillain

Maybe they just did it because they want to sell more merchandise to people especially Muslims and Hindus. This costume change is occurring when American movies (even movies besides Jungle Book and Life of Pi) have started to be more financially successful in India. Jasmine seems to be kind of popular among Indians even though she's not actually Indian.

There would be even more porn of Aladdin and Jasmine than there already is

Jasmine's will be mostly bondage dancer girl
Aladdin's will be mostly feet

Disney is well known enough and mainstream enough to get hatred from every single side of the political spectrum as poisoning the minds of children and pushing some agenda. Just take Moana as the current example

>Liberals claim it is disturbingly portraying Hawaiians as repulsive and ugly while shitting all over the native culture and heritage
>Conservatives are pissed at the movie only portraying a single foreign culture and that it will spread evil anti American messages, while also promoting the "gay agenda" through a strong willed female hero with no love interest
>Religious types are appalled at yet another movie with foreign gods in it, and portraying magic and false idol worship promoting kids to demon worship and occult
>Feminists are angry at the false body positive image being portrayed in the lead

Meanwhile kids only want to watch a fun cartoon with songs and adventures. Their parents keep trying to attach some eeeevil agenda to the movie over and over again.

Disney can just never win with the conspiracy types.

The first thing, Jafar would not be in the film. The villain of the movie would absolutely not be a native of Agrabah or the region. He would have to be a white guy, either evil crusader or just foreigner come to exploit the people of the region. But there is no fucking way 2016 Disney is going to have a villainous Arab character.

They would probably play on the African sorcerer part from the original tale, except maybe make him French or Spanish, still magic in some way but still scheming to get the genie so he can take over the kingdom and force Jasmine to marry him.

I would expect some kind of anti crusader/Bush era military/Israel undertones in the character as Aladdin, Genie, the Sultan, and Jasmine try to stop his evil plan to take over.

Eh, this is kind of a thing and turns up a lot outside Disney.
I think what they aim for is flamboyance, since it can make a villain fun to watch while still keeping them 100% evil.
Gaston is pretty much the same but just in the opposite direction.
I think effeminacy, or not-masculine in the last century has also been associated with being the underdog and so gives them an easy go to motivation.

It doesn't help that they're also easily the most memorable villains.

I wouldn't be surprised if they kept the Chinese setting if it where made today, given the current climate.

In terms of political reaction? Not that different. Remember Aladdin came out during the height of the last wave of PC. They were forced to change the line "where they cut off your nose if they don't like your face" because of outrage.

Disney has ALADDIN running on Broadway recently so it's not a problem. They'd just have to cast a few more nonwhites in the voice cast and that's about it.

>nobody is claiming that but you. you're making up your own narrative.
Actually if you weren't completely oblivious to this subject you would know about this article by The Washington Times by now.

washingtontimes.com/news/2016/sep/7/disneys-princess-jasmine-wont-be-showing-as-much-s/

>Hardcore feminazi getting this triggered when presented with a grain of truth that threatens her twisted ideologies.
I've never seen such a bitter reply in my life. Stay fat forever landwhale

Fuck the fatty brats. I want my sex appeal, and if chubby suzies gonna whine about it then she deserves a kick in her bloated gut.

I want to rip off her midsection and nut on her belly

Oh and, yes he still does meet, and greets with children while half naked. Funny how nobodies ever complained about feeling "uncomfortable" while taking a photo next to a half naked muscular man.

But, yeah feminists are right. Ariel and Jasmine's tummies needed to get covered up ASAP!

congrats, you found the smoking gun

>Writing a villain character for a movie that is 99.999% over the top Broadway Musical with singing animals and magic.

It might just happen by accident more than design. Just comes with the setting.

Male eye make up is a normal thing in middle east and India especially for people with high social status

It was also pretty common for males in western Europe to wear make up too.

Princes Jasmine is 15 years old. Aladdin was supposed to be younger, but Jeffrey Katzenberg looked at the film, (before it was colored) and didn't believe that someone as smoking hot as Jasmine would go for a 14 year old wimpy looking Aladdin so he forced the animators to re-animate every scene Aladdin was in to age him to 18 years of age.

>Be 18yr old Aladdin
>Sneak into a 15 year old Jasmines bedroom in the middle of the night
>Lie to her about who you in hopes of tricking her into leaving her home in the middel of the night to go on a "magic carpet ride" with you.
>Give her a long sexy goodnight kiss

I'm surprised nobody ever asked Aladdin to have a seat.

Also Jafar was in his late 50s / early 60s when he turned 15 yr old Jasmine into his own personal playtoy, dressed her in a sexy red slave outfit, and wished for Genie to force her to fall desperately in love with him.

Kinda makes you look at this scene in a whole new light doesn't it.

Play Akabur much?

So would the sultan

It would be completely computer animated trash and would have some preachy forced message about racism

>Akabur
Had to google what Akabur was. To be honest I haven't played a video game since 1993. I suck at them.

>underrated post.

>Also Jafar was in his late 50s / early 60s

What? Looks more like late 40's early 50's

>wasn't Ursula based on a drag queen?
yes

>same old Disney princess musical, as if Frozen wasn't enough
>not PC enough, Jasmine should be in control of every situation she is in
>the fact that they are clearly muslim is super cool I guess

>Genie would have been revealed to be the villain.
ftfy

so only atheists are the only people with no qualms about Disney films?

>>Liberals claim it is disturbingly portraying Hawaiians as repulsive and ugly
Not that guy, but those librals got a point.
That fat brown chick has no tits, ass and has cankels.
While the monster sidekick character with the tattoos voiced by the Rock looks repulsive in every fucking way possible

Wahhabism was a mistake.
-Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab

Genie would be the villain and Hagar would be the hero because they totally haven't done that twist in all their other recent movies

Jafar*

Look how cute, and light skinned the actual Hawaiian girl who voices Moana is vs Disney's depiction of what a Hawaiian should look like.

Not sure if I have seen the fedoras bitch about Disney. They tend t not be on the "for the children" side of the complaints.

>while also promoting the "gay agenda" through a strong willed female hero with no love interest
Not a Conservative but they got a point. Thats basically Rapunzel and Elsa in a nut shell.

Lets not even get into the Maleficent film. They took a timeless, kick ass Self proclaimed Mistress of all evil, and turned her into a misunderstood rape victim. The King is a monster, and the prince can't even wake up Sleeping Beauty. Only muh girl power LGBT kiss can wake up the sleeping beauty.

They turned the King into an irredeemable evil monster that slaps cute little old female fairies in mid air. They even allowed Maleficent to be the bigger person by giving him the chance to stop fighting but of course he was an evil bearded man, and kept trying to kill her. She wasn't even allowed to kill him. He died by his own hand do to not being able to stop being such an evil angry "typical man".
She wasn't even allowed to turn into the large iconic dragon at the end. Feminist propaganda The Movie.

>make a Hawaiian character look Hawaiian
>"WAAAH, OFFENSIVE"

I want to see Disney make a movie with a Sumo Wrestler as the main character and show him eating a ton of food all the time like Sumos do just so I can see the shit storm about it being offensive to fat people.

I can't remember what this movie was called, but I remember something about alladin's release cannibalizing it.
The art and animation was so good but the voicing seemed very off, I think it was called the cobbler?

Thief and the Cobbler
It was supposed to be a magnun opus and the guy who was working on it got kicked off his own project

On the left is an image of what a real Hawaiian girl looks like. Shes the voice of the character. Shes cute and has light skin. On the right you'll see an image of some dark skinned ghetto looking black sassy girl from the Bronx.

>Pre-Caiphate Arabia
>Makes them Indians

Rasputin..?

The Rock + the fat fuck from LOST?

Sorry your thread got cancer, OP

Fat

>>Feminists are angry at the false body positive image being portrayed in the lead
What the fuck does this shit even mean?

They're Polynesians. As in ACTUAL Polynesians not some half cast hawiian girl.

Polynesians have round flat noises and get very fat on a fatty diet.

They're famous for being able to cross the largest mass of water in oversized canoes and fuck the abbos up so much they needed to live in deserts.

>Meanwhile kids only want to watch a fun cartoon with songs and adventures.
I don't think you give kids enough credit. I don't know about kids today, but I used to be very picky about what I would watch.

>I can show you the World Trade Center...

He looks like Brendan Fraser from George of the Jungle.

Funny thing is I find myself liking The Little Mermaid for the same reason feminist hate it.

It's not only my favorite Disney film. It's also my favorite film period.

It's perfect in every way, shape and form.
All of Disneys best animators of the time worked on it so the animation and characters are amazing
You have a Divin Sea Witch.
Some of the best music to ever come out of Disney.
A classic non douchebag prince unlike the modern day Tangled / Frozen ones of today.
No forced black characters (no Sabastion doesn't count because hes a mother fuckin Awesome crab.)
A beautiful half naked Disney princess thats willing to shut up forever and sells her voice just so she can get legs which she can spreed for her Prince. Now thats a mother fucking girl right there.

Some say...
>b-but Ariel has such a weak motivation

I say to them not to be so harsh. She was 16 and it was true love. Why was it true love ? Because "at 16 it's always true love." ~ Zelda Spellman
Besides I like that her character was slightly dopy. It made her wide eyed / childlike which made her more loveable. You feel the need to put your arm around a person like that and protect / lover her forever.

But were you picky based on sociopolitical reasons and the deep hidden agendas of the producers? Or did you just think show A sucked, show B was good?

>I'm surprised nobody ever asked Aladdin to have a seat.
You're bitching about American laws not applying to Saudi Arabian people.

Maybe you should have a seat. In a psychiatrist's office.

He might as well. Brendan Fraser doesn't even look like Brendan Fraser anymore.

I never fell for the Sesame Street is a fun puppet show meme. I knew it was an education program masking itself as a fun kids show, and I refused to watch it on principle.

Every kid in my school had a hard on for power rangers. I saw it and thought it was corny, cheaply put together, and childish. Had to watch a few episodes to fit in.
Aladdin was announced as the next Disney film that would be released to theaters. I hated, and rejected it at first because all the characters looked like Arabs, and I wasn't used to that. That feeling went away after a while and, I ended really enjoying the characters. To be fear Aladdin might look like an Arab, but he's hella Americanized, and is voiced by Steve from Full House.

To be fair, it's not as though the Austro-aboriginals are very dangerous opponents.

Brendan Fraser is all of the evidence that I need to conclude that marriage is poisonous.

>sells her voice just so she can get legs which she can spreed for her Prince
It's pottery

what's pattery

>You feel the need to put your arm around a person like that and protect / lover her forever.

Another fucker who was indoctrinated into believing women are anything like that. If Ariel was real you would die and she would happily suck some bad boy's dick.

It means the character is not obese or ugly, so they cannot identify with her.

Women in real life are horrible, we know. Just don't be like the feminists, seeking to ruin fictional women as well.

>. Stay fat forever landwhale
I still prefer 'legbeard'

gotcha

---> /pol
you're either baiting or retarded, but either way your home lies elsewhere

The theme would revolve around accepting people for who they are and eschewing prejudice. Jasmine would be transgender and there's nothing wrong with that, and the sultan will stone her for bringing shame to the family in the name of Islam, and there's also nothing wrong with that.

Also all the music will be performed by Maroon 5

and the regressive left would whine about cultural appropriation, the fact that Jasmine is a bit sexy and that Saudi looks like Vegas.

...

"What is this SJW hurka durka camel-humping bullshit?"

Something like that.

Not Disney, but that fedora-lord film critic in The Guardian didn't like Kubo because he thought it was Shinto propaganda and that it wouldn't appeal to kids.

Oh and it had too much death for a kids film.

I feel sorry for your parents.

And I thought I was a snob as a little kid.

Cred Forums would bitch about Arabs in their kids cartoons. SJWs would bitch that the good Arabs are too white looking. Also Jasmine is clearly a lesbian because she didn't want to marry a man.

How different would this movie be if it were made during the Renisance (same basic plot and characters) using hand drawn animation and how differently would've it been recieved?

Not very

I'll take it over Pocahontas

Arabian Nights China isn't really China though. They just used the name because it's exotic.

But she doesn't have cankles. Her left (stage right) leg has a curve.

Ain't Dreamworks doing that?

The one from the poster of the garfield looking fat cat and the title's something like Blazing Sumos or some sorta pun

What makes that different from any other Disney Movie with a "real" location?

media1.santabanta.com/full1/Hollywood Movies/Blazing Samurai/blazing-samurai-0a.jpg

We deserve only death

The kingdom in the original story is as made-up as Agrabah. You remember reading about any caliphates in China? I sure don't.

>She was helpless and the only thing she could do was seduce Jafar as a distraction, so Aladdin could rescue her?
Jafar just made himself the strongest sorcerer in the world, and pretty much treated the entire kingdom like a toy. What the fuck was she supposed to do other than provide a distraction? Aladdin would have been trounced pretty easily if he just tried to rush in.

I thought it was parents bitching about that.

>I never fell for the Sesame Street is a fun puppet show meme. I knew it was an education program masking itself as a fun kids show, and I refused to watch it on principle.
F is for fuckboi. As in "You're a piece of shit, fuckboi"

What if she has sex with Jafar and forces him to cum to weaken his grip?

Would SJW outcry over that too?

conservatives would boycott disney

nah dude. it'd be aladdinstein.

conservashits will get mad at anything. they have no problem with the redhead scottish character or frozen or any other white girls

>can never win with the conspiracy types

who the fuck cares about disney? they dodge on taxes and the lion king was heinously ripped off from Kimba. disney corporation can eat shit

How different it would be and how it would be are two, or three, different questions.

How different would it be? It would be a much more realistic but also idealized version of eastern culture. The Genie would be voiced by Eddie Murphy (best case) or Seth Rogan (worst case)

If it were released in that state today it would be panned hard. If that version released today, but wasn't a remake, it would be forgetable, but passable.

If it came out today as it originally existed, but somehow was never released, it would again be universally praised but quickly forgotten.

>they needed to live in deserts

Plus there's more to her motivation then the feminists give credit in that she was already a longtime Humanaboo eager to check out the surface world. Wanting the prince D was another thing to add to the list of "Reasons to become human" and the one that lead her to finally actively pursue the goal.

Back in 1993 when Aladdin was still out in theaters my moms Jewish friend who was in her 50s at the time told me she could get me a "Copy" of Aladdin on vhs tape, but that it wasn't a gift. I would have to pay her $12 out of my own money for it. I accept yet was a bit skeptical about what she meant by the word "copy". I thought maybe it meat bootleg.

I go to her house to pick it up a few weeks later with the money she requested, (bitch was actually charging a seven year old child $12 for a tape) and it was this Cobbler version. I told her this isn't Aladdin, and didn't buy it. She wouldn't give it to me either if I didn't give her the money. She was so butthurt over the $12 that she ended up threatening me. The fucked up part was that I had a large Disney vhs collection in the 90s, and instead of going to our local Blockbuster to rent them she would always ask me if she could borrow my copies to show her grand daughter. I would always say yes. Than she pulls this shit. Shes old, and dying of cancer now, and I'm still raw about it.

>Pre-Caiphate Arabia
that's a funny way of spelling "Ottoman Empire"

Elsa would have remained the villain. Olaf would have been the comedic bumbling minion, and Hans would have killed Elsa by dropping her off something or otherwise she falls and it's his fault.

Jafar would be a wealthy jew who wants the genie so he can be richer and take over Palestine.

Aladdin is only a poor street rat because his family was shoved off their land and forced to live as refugees in Agrabah.

>who the fuck cares about disney? they dodge on taxes and the lion king was heinously ripped off from Kimba. disney corporation can eat shit

20+ years of weeaboo fags being this butthurt over the fact that two companies can make a cartoon about a cartoon lion.

None of them ever once mention Hamlet at all. Only complain about how Disney stole from animu

Not him, and I could give to shits less about anime, but I think the reason they wont let it go is because Disney is notorious for suing people over their shit yet the have no problem ripping of other peoples shit.

They have gone as fare as to copyright a name/character that was already in the public domain.
Princess Aurora was a character from Swan Lake. Mattel wanted to make a CGI film based on the ballet, and have Barbie play Princess Aurora. Disney got wind of this, and went to Washington, bribed the right people, and got a name that was already in the public domain taken out of public domain. Mattel was so scared of suffering Disney's wrath that they stopped production of the film.

They once shut down a Florida pre-school because the lady who worked their painted a few faces of Disney characters on the walls to cheer up the children who were having a hard time adapting to being away from their parents for the first time.

Hanna-Barbera was so disgusted by Disney that they helped the school re-open, and even brought in a professional artist to draw Hanna-Barbera characters on the walls of the pre school.

Well it would be CGI for one, that's garbage

The music would be Shakira's fetid feces so that's pretty awful too

I don't even want to know who voices the Genie. PewDiePie?

>I don't even want to know who voices the Genie

Jim Gaffigan

>not giving a shit about anime
Kill yourself.

I weep for American colleges today.

For it to be a double standard, wouldn't it have to be males bitching about the guy not covered up? And then promptly getting laughed at?

I've tried to watch anime, but I just can't get into it. It has to many awkward long pauses. The animation is choppy. Characters don't move, and remain motionless while only their lips move as they speak. Only anime I can truly say I love is Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics, and Noozles.

> The animation is choppy
Love this meme.

Oh, they do go all out during action scenes like the one you posted. It's those in between scenes that are hard to get threw. Scenes were the characters awkwardly talk to one another. It doesn't flow. You can tell they save money on those scenes in order to blow the majority of the films budget on the action scenes.

Hi dad
you know a lot has happened since speed racer was on in the 60s right?

Hey kiddo, What the fuck is Speed Racer ?

I've often thought on this actually.
So much of what was considered diversity then, is now considered racist. Everyone wants cultural awareness, but gets mad at you if you represent different races/cultures as different. They want to be identical and distinctly represented.

As I recal there were stories from the developemnt of The Princess and the Frog, where half of the screening audience was more offended the "blacker" they made Tiana, and the other half was more offended the "less-black" she was. Rumor stands that the reason the prince was hispanic, was because when they made him white everyone was offended that, "the prince can't be black!?" and so they made him black and everyone was mad that they were then infering that black women weren't good enough for white princes.

I'm not normally enlisted in the Weeb Defense Force, but you're fucking full of it mate.

This explains a lot honestly: a grossly obtuse opinion formed after minimal exposure.

At least tv wasn't total shit when I was growing up. This dubbed anime show used to air on Nick Jr ever day when I was growing up.
The topics were mature and didn't talk down to kids.

This episode was about a King who wanted to rape / marry his own daughter.

Parent groups didn't freak out and bitch about it. Kids didn't flip their shit over it. McDonalds Happy meals, and Ronald McDonald weren't viewed as the Devil. Things were just way more comfy.
