The userbase wanted the board so that they could post lewd art along with having discussions of adult comics and animation without having to worry about censoring it.

The mods promptly sabotaged it by forcing Western fetish material off of /d/ over the weeks following its creation and by excluding artwork of certain characters from the start. Most likely because they didn't want that board to exist in the first place and were resentful that Hiro actually reacted to popular request.

Cred Forums is so weird about /aco/. Can't they just ignore/filter/hide threads they don't like? Then again, this is coming from a pervert with a ton of strange fetishes, and is usually fascinated by weird sex shit even if it's not my particular kink, so maybe I just don't have the right mindset to emphasize.

/aco/ mods think thundercats is too furry and will ban you for that and that also makes wakfu/dofus threads pretty boring since you can't post several classes and many characters

you can filter threads you don't like
but you can't really filter posts you don't like from the thread you're looking for

It's less about those threads and more how fetishists will hijack other threads for their own circlejerk purposes instead of staying in their own.

Even here on Cred Forums, almost every Lilo and Stitch thread or Frankie Foster thread will quickly be taken over for two examples.
