I generally try not to get angry at stupid webcomics, but only three have really managed to make me rage: Assigned Male, So, You're A Cartoonist, and Zen Pencils.

Assigned Male, because the author is a turbocunt who uses the worst possible strawmen in their "arguments", and in a very 'I'm a Mac/I'm a PC' way, they end up making the strawmen look far more sympathetic by having their main character be a smug unsympathetic asshole.

SYAC for reasons that have been long mentioned by others. If nothing else, it's been satisfying seeing Dobbles' would-be career torpedoed not by trolls, but by his own doing.

Zen Pencils, because it pisses me off that he gets popular by abusing quotes (that he generally takes completely out of context) with smarmy wish fulfillment. He's also notoriously thin skinned (Dril Pencils, the 'Hate' comic), too.

It wasn't even the writing that pissed me off but the point were the artist didn't give enough of a shit to keep drawing it so she changed arts those to shit out a page in ten minutes

Bonus points for blasternation for dropping the main character halfway through and then ending the comic without resolving anything

Mega Tokyo for the sole reason Gallagher haven't experienced art evolution. That, and, after Caston made his exit, Gallagher turned the webcomic into a straight anime tier story. It worked well with Rod because MT had a perfect balance of humour and all, and after he left and Gallagher took over everything, turned it into his wet dream fantasy wishfulfillment story.

I think the DoA strip where Becky and Dina hook up was the maddest I've ever been at a piece of fiction.

Dina was the only character I could stand anymore, and I actually liked her, Becky was already so intolerable at this point that reading her dialogue gave me actual headaches.

Willis then made Dina act completely out of character, then threw away any prior development or characterization, so that his lesbian waifu Poochie could have a faceless outlet to make more jokes about how much of a crazy lesbian she is.

I blame today tumblr-esque society. People are unique and sometimes these mental quirks are fine, but the line between it and something that could use psychological treatment blurs when you have people claim "Oh, it's fine because I'm a special snowflake"

The kind of depression she draws in her blog thing clearly shows this is more than just a quirk, she clearly could use some in-depth therapy because she has massive self-loathing issues that can easily grow up to becomes even bigger problems later on. Many many many years ago, way back in 2004, I got way too upset at The Lounge and JJ for making Italy gay when it looked like she was going to hook up with Max. I was pissed for like a week. In retrospect I took it too personally.

But it was so fucking stupid. She had sex with women (which was always played as a gag), but she also showed physical interest in men. And there were all these moments with Max. But JJ threw that all away and wrote a bunch of strips where she said she was always only gay and all those times she was into Max were nothing so he could have a gay angst story.

I hope that gives them the opportunity to inject some quality in that comic because honestly as far as porn comics go it isn't that good.

Personally, I think the music angle is what kills it for me. I just don't give a fuck about the music industries, it just doesn't work as an interesting plot for me. So far the sex scenes have been ok for me but it's the middle part that I wouldn't mind if it were some other plot. The music industriy angle not only is boring as all fuck, it also gives away a fuck ton of cliches they will eventually cross, and not the good kind.

I used to read BCB years and years ago, and I remember they used to have a section on their 'about' page that said the comic was going to end ~2014 or so. And you know what, it seemed like it was building up to the play, and even (Alejandro? mexican ganster cat) made an appearance, saying it was almost time.

Then it just kind of... never happened. The play was skipped over, Lucy left, and the characters became bobbleheads with Hydrocephalus.

I think the authors figured out this was their cashcow, and couldn't bring themselves to close it, because she has no other talent than continuing this.

IMO, should have stuck with the manga pencil style. She was really showing improvement there, or even with the shaded pages. Once watercolors started, whatever talent she had went out the window.

Some times a webcomic can be shit with a shit author but it's more hilariously bad than anything i.e. Dominic Deegan. Some times you're more angry at the lack of effort and desire to be as milquetoast as possible like Questionable Content.

But Dumbing of Age is not only offensively bad, the creator is an utter lunatic who, twenty years after the fact, is still rebelling against his parents despite being a near 40-year-old man and subjects anyone who reads them to screeds about his parental issues, falling out with religion and pathetic attempts at being one of the cool progressive internet kids. I'm trying to remember other weird shit from the zombie craze years (thank heavens people are getting bored with them again). Only other thing that comes to mind was a comic called "Last Blood", which I binged then dropped when I'd caught up.

The plot of which, as I recall, is that vampires are a thing, but if they get blood-starved they turn into a sort of lich thing, and anyone they bite becomes a zombie under their control instead of a vampire. One bloodless vamp manages to kick off a proper zombocalypse, and the few remaining humans are given protection (in exchange for blood donations) by the even fewer remaining vampires, protecting the "last blood" on the earth. One of the vampires could fly but otherwise they were pretty standard Buffy vamps, also the author seemed convinced that he could pitch the comic as a successful movie.

People have a hard time spelling the names domestic to their country, Ananth being an indian is SOL, it's kind of sad and it's probably what he figured himself, I know they've made atleast one comic about it.

This one for me, I've met the creators for it before I knew rock cocks was a thing, and they seemed super chill about it. Then not even two weeks later they started focusing on that one black guy and the asian who're are good at fighting games, then once that ended I lost interest since it started introducing a bunch of characters I didn't care too much about.

It's sad. When I started reading the comic, we see our main character being very opinionated, a slacktivist of sorts who gave up on superheroing because of the social consequences but then is content to just complain from the sidelines. She was wrestling with the power given to her by complete happenstance and the fucked up nature of their world. She was a hypocrite and self-righteous and often self-absorbed, but I was on board thinking that these were all intended as completely negative traits that would be, if not amended, at least explored.

She tells a supervillain that the world should be grateful she doesn't murder everyone, for fuck's sake.

Tony Soprano's a vicious cunt but The Sopranos makes no qualms about that. It's not about justifying him, it's about understanding him and the destruction he leaves in his wake. And he has positive qualities, hopes, aspirations, regrets, as if he's trapped being himself.

Instead, as the story went on, it felt more and more like the comic was more or less taking the MC's side, like her flaws were either unintended or were supposed to be ignored. The conflicts all started warping into these soapbox-laden contrivances, and any opportunities for character development gave way to this inane topical bullshit.

It's a bit uncomfortable to read, like this character gives way too much insight into the author's thought process and personality.

I completely abandoned ship by the time we got to the invisible rapist killer.

Motherfucker the entire last chapter was just exposition plus a gorilla killing a sheep. And the beginning is EXPECTED to have a bit more exposition, but chapter 1 has great pacing and chapter 2 probably has the most action outside of the dragon fight...which was over a year ago now.

I read QC for ages, not really because I enjoyed it but because I started reading it and just never really stopped. I'd probably still be reading it today if I hadn't gotten a new PC and lost my bookmarks. I mean, it's not good by any stretch of the imagination. I kept up with it for years, and even kept reading when it became more like a chapter summary than a comic. The author now revises storyboards for SU, so she quit. That wouldn't be so bad if not for 1) another reason for her quitting was that she was tired of people asking her about the updates when she went on long, indefinite and frequent hiatuses 2) She actively had a patreon for this comic and became offended when people wanted refunds and 3) "I’m not going to answer questions about where the story was going or the ending. Sorry."
When the entire appeal of your story is finding out who hooks up at the end, not only is it not a good story, but it's a dick move to leave all the readers hanging.

The scene transition confirms it's just the protagonist who sees him as a douche, not the narrative. He teases her as she leaves to try and make her think, encouraging her to stick it to him. She goes and completely changes his words when talking to a friend.

Looks like that, yes. The whole page looks staged to be that. If some people take it seriously that's their problem. Now, if the whole comic is like that then it means it's not satire, or at least that the author doesn't know what the fuck is he doing.
