Well I drew this. Frankly Abaddon's work is a little intimidating to draw. There are so many intricate details to everything you don't know what you should put in and what you can sort of just gloss over. I'm still thinking about putting some of his characters in the background of a "Cantina scene" in my own webcomic.

Have been a fan of the webcomic, and my Amazon print copy of this came yesterday.

Pretty disappointing overall.
On the plus side, the redrawn early art is nice.

On the minus side, it's a really tiny $15 book.
It's only 9"x6 3/4", and only 104 pages.

The Unsounded vol 1 was 10 1/4 x 6 3/4" and 84 pages longer,. and barely cost any more for literally twice the book.

The KSBD "tpb" is literally the shortest book on my shelf of tbps, and thats even counting kickstarter stuff like Daisy Cutter.

Color is good, but the paper feels flimsier than the Unsounded volume, and the cover certainly is flimsier.

I am disapoint.

actually I take it back, I got out a tape measure, it's only 8 1/4" tall.

Now admittedly Unsounded has a larger border on the top and bottom, but that doesn't account for the total difference.
There's barely any border to the art on the KDBD paperback though.

It just seems......chintzy for a tpb. Particularly one that could easily have had 175 pages of material.

I did hear some people complaining about it being small, and being the net-only reader that I am, that might be a problem considering that text is going to be smaller and it is already small at times. Hopes for a bigger next one I guess?

It would piss me off more if they started releasing in different sizes.
This thing is literally as tall as a letter is WIDE.

I might consider a hardcover collection down the road, but I can't see paying this much for a pamphlet.
Amazon sent me a One Punch Man for less than 5 bucks, at double the page count, size and color non-withstanding.

The art is DARK, as if they printed the damn thing on black paper or something. The lettering is actually not too bad to read, but you lose a lot of art detail on regular pages, and the panels that you could expand on the web-page are MISERABLY small.

I give it a 3/10.

I think they mean this, they mention an Ebon key thief here and Cio herself admitted that she had stolen a key before.If memory serves right. an Ebon had stolen a key but was punished by the Gods and was turned to a Blue.

Plus even the most basic comics reading ability would tell you to parallel the last and second-to-last panel there: Cio matches with the silhouette.

I've been tinkering with various enhancement/blowup schemes, and I find that KSBD can be a real challenge. Sometimes it just doesn't want to look nice, and I also don't like doing too much to the original art.

You sure found the trick for that panel, though!

I usually stick with irfanview and use median filtering to remove noise and then a mild sharpen. The clone tool is useful to remove bubbles and such, and if I have to, I'll export to paint and use the oil brush to tease out small imperfections.

That particular crop did not want to do a damn thing for me with those tricks, and I tend to dislike waifu's results, but you sure got it to do well on that one!
