It looks sexy though.

Isnt the drawing going down, while the 3d model is crawling straight?

No, grow some eyeballs.

I like how the 3d "artist" changed the legs to validade his "argument".

The head always bothered me, though.

why the fuck did this one pose generate so much ass hurt when there are other poses that are like it in comics

>No text

You wut m8?

Manufactured outrage by people who don't actually read comics. The same reason that nobody gave a shit that Greg "I trace pornography" Land was doing the interior art. Despite that being WAY more objectionable.

Because tumblr?

Because it was on the cover and women don't read comics.

Somebody actually took the time and made the effort to make this point with a 3D modeling program.

I don't care if it's old bait.

Her leg's hanging off the side of the building in Manara's. Fucking blind idiot.

it's implied dude

It's pretty embarrassing how wrong the 3D artist got the pose.

How facetious.

Anatomy can be abstract as well, like cartoons for example. Not everything has to be text book precise.

Do any of you guys draw?

I bet you jerk off to inflation porn.

Eh. I'm board enough to give this a shot. Besides her ass being really wide, cracked, head oddly sized, and spine as stiff as a log, not much is too badly off.

*stands up, crosses arms and nods wisely in agreement*

thank you, that pose was dangerously misogynistic, thousands of women were abused, harassed, assaulted and raped because of that cover, that cover is literally a hate crime against women.

heads off

Fuck you OP

I'm a woman and I find this whole shitfest over this cover ridiculous. It's like everyone forgot the border-line pornish covers from the 90s-2010.

Yeah. I realized now I have to fake/warp the perspective to get it small looking..

>I'm a woman

either you're lying of suffering from internalized misogyny

The MCU didn't exist in the 90s to draw attention.

Fine then. I'm a gender-neutralized space jellyfish.

That's kinda hot.

This is some shitty trolling pic.

So you don't know much about angles then?

This.

W-WITCHCRAFT

Pretty close, but the angle of the ledge is off, which means her head needs to adjust for that.

Really the head was the only part of the piece that was that off.

that's what happens when you hire some no name random to make your covers

Marvel's quality has gone down a lot, they don't even try anymore

>random no name

Learn2pose faggot

Aside from the neck, that looks easily doable unless you're a fat American.

The fact that you responded means you took the bait.

I've always found this aspect of Bait.jpg images confusing

Deliosion advocates

Or was the reply a bait itself?

"Like, I realise that you're trying to bait me into a specific reply, so instead, have a picture"?

No newfriend, if you point out that the bait is bait, the bait is a failure.

Top tier trolling is when people that you're trolling never realized they're being trolled at all. Simply getting replies is bottom tier trolling.

Yes it is, you can clearly see her left hand planted on the lower flooring of the roof while the rest of her body is crawling over the lip. That doesn't make the pose less weird the more you look at it

>>if you point out that the bait is bait, the bait is a failure.

Not if everyone is rushing to post "bait" images to prove its bait. In that sense, it succeeded in what it set out to do. You get baited hook line and sinker every fucking time.

Body needs to come forward and up a bit more.

This is damn mesmerizing. I can't look away. Not even to typtoghnjtnagbe

I'm no grammar Nazi, but come on man, not even Google is sure what you mean.

I would think the baiter would want something more substantial than memes

Unless he's so disgustingly desperate for human interaction that a (you) is enough to make his whole week

>I was baiting you to point out that my bait was bait
You're life has no meaning

...

You overestimate shitposters. Any response is enough.

While on the subject, I don't even understand why the whole (You) system was implemented. It doesn't add anything to discussions. If anything, it's just increased retarded posts trying to garner (You)s

>meanwhile in Italy, an old gentleman sips coffee and chuckles to himself about the things young people with pent up aggression from sex starvation get mad about on the internet, before going to collect his latest royalty cheque from all the books he has sold in Europe.

>comics should ALWAYS stick RIGOROUSLY to anatomy and no ARTISTIC LICENCES whatsoever might be EVER taken in lieu of DRAMATISM or VISUAL AESTHETICS.

if you think like this you can permanently fuck off my board.

Hey neat, a non-retarded person on Cred Forums. I thought you were just a myth, like the Easter Bunny or Skeletons.

becuse its a very good example without being hyperbole. Sure we could go after rob liefeild but hes low hanging fruit (or nut?) We continously pick up new covers and complain about those but then the complains became background noise.

You, the comic book audience only ever stopped to notice this one time we the female audience complained about this specific cover.

DELETE THIS PLEASE

You MUST be a virgin.
I regularly put my m8 in that position

>not knowing basic anatomy in 2016
>facepalm

Why would you expect a board like Cred Forums to know basic female anatomy?

Valid point

It's funny because while I agree with you, I could easily use this argument to defend Rob Liefeld's art.

The moment Marvel died and sjws gained control.

Liefeld is well within his rights to draw the way he does, but it's also well documented that he has a piss poor grasp on basic anatomy.

Because the girl from the Mary Sue is in a wheelchair and can't make this pose

It makes it easier to see if someone replied to your post. It doesn't do a damn thing to increase shitposting either, now people just say trolls are fishing for (You)s instead of fishing for replies.

Wtf

It's Cred Forums, it's kind of our thing to take any kind of bait.

Wow, that pose is literally impossible! Or at least it's impossible for 300 lb manhating feminist cunts.

Because it was the perfect storm

The picture itself is two things

1. Kind of shitty
2. Fanservicey

But because of existing cultural narratives, #1 fails to get any attention, and only amplifies the ongoing cultural argument against male-oriented fanservice

If this was a GOOD fanservicey picture, it wouldn't have gotten nearly as much attention. People seized onto it because they knew they could be like "LOL UR DEFENDING THIS" when what people dislike about it is the image quality, not the act of fanservice

So, that's what caused it to blow up in embittered "feminist" circles

What caused it to blow up everywhere else is the simple fact that comics nowadays are stuffed to the fucking brim with fanservice for female fans and no one bats an eye, so the criticism is perceived (correctly) as some people simply having a problem with men getting eye candy in general

In a healthy, non-politicized culture, the discussion about this picture would be "Eh, it's kind of shitty" and end there

Instead we get what we get

That's photoshopped. The pose is LITERALLY physically IMPOSSIBLE! Stop raping me!

>On his way to the publishers' office, he is accosted by a group of nubile young women

But isn't she a spider woman or something? So she can do flexible shit and stuff.

>white knights and feminists think people are unable to look up

There is no female audience
Or at least none that reads more than the cover.

Sorry, but both of those images still get Manara's drawing wrong and try to fix them.

The base of the spine and head.

Sorry, but not sorry, you guys are in the wrong.

i know right, how are people missing this shit?

You see, people here only like to pretend to be talented, while they dont even read comic books or make anything productive.
They can't even spot the obvious.

Shitlords, I'll tell you!

...

>This man should be ousted from the industry because he drew a tailbone slightly out of proportion once!

There's no point in debating anything about that cover or anything like it. It's not a matter of logic. It's not a matter of right or wrong. It's a free speech issue. You can't discuss free speech issues because free speech is automatically right.

If free speech goes against the facts, the facts are wrong and free speech is right.

If free speech goes against logic, then logic is wrong and free speech is right.

If free speech goes against moral or practical concerns, it doesn't matter how real or how significant they are, morality is wrong and free speech is right.

If free speech goes against other human rights, then human rights are wrong and free speech is right.

If free speech goes against free speech, then free speech is wrong and free speech is right.

You can't speak against free speech. Nothing is allowed to contradict free speech. Free speech is the only good, and opposing it is the only evil.

People are still arguing about this?

Lets focus on the good that came from it instead.

Dont you tumblr on me, user!

it was only a big deal because a major outlet picked it up, here's a good vid on why the whole controversy was stupid, and another cover by the same artist that pre-dates this one, being sexually provocative with a male character OUTRAGE!

Why do you hate freedom?

>madox is alive
wow!

Did he got called a shitlord after that?

liefeld shit has energy

its retarded energy but it's still energy

Thats called male power fantasy

this is actually a very accurate way of describing it

Because it's the exact opposite of what its fanatics claim it is. They act as if their brand of freedom will liberate humanity from the shackles of meaningless dogma and allow them to find the truth and grow into greater beings, but all they do is use it as a meaningless rigid dogma to stamp out ideas, suppress truth so that people are "free to" lie, suppress compassion so that people are "free to" do harm, suppress advancement so that people are "free to" tear things down, and otherwise suppress any form of the idea that there's a way things should be and a way things shouldn't be.

Of course, as insane as this version of "freedom" is, it's no surprise that everyone who supports it is a shameless hypocrite who is happy to attack others with the explicit goal of censoring them and controlling their behavior. But it's done in the name of freedom, and its victims' thoughts are "censorship" and "oppression", so they still feel like they're in the right.

>suppress truth so that people are "free to" lie
ok, tell me before you run off to harass another fan artist into suicide - who do you think should have the power to arbitrate what is and is not a 'lie?' you?

You kid, but I get legitimately upset over this absurd double standard that gets peddled as an actual argument.

I wonder though, are monster girl fictions considered female power fantasies? Or does it not count because only dudes read and jerk off to them?

because even though spider-man is constantly in the same pose and wears an outfit just as skin tight no one cares cause he's a man. It amazes me that people bitch about super hero costumes when i can walk to the beach or the mall and see dozens of 14 year old girls wearing more revealing outfits. I mean Jesus Christ they should just rename yoga pants to "show off my camel toe" pants

Hmm, you're right user! Us lowly commoners are too stupid to separate lies and truth in rigorous, open debate and discussion. If only we could return to the good old days when the educated elites controlled the information consumed by the masses, for their own good of course.

You probably hate religion, but I daresay the medieval Catholic Church might be a good model if you wish to seriously pursue this.

And no one can ever agree on what a female power fantasy is.

There was never any chance of that because Manara isn't even part of the US comics industry and Americans were the only people who cared about this. He's still incredibly successful and popular in Europe and literally just shrugged this whole thing off.

>victims
>harm
>from seeing a comic book cover I don't like
>which nobody is forced to buy
>doubly so because it was a variant
You people are so deluded. You want to see real victims and harm? Go to fucking Syria or some such place. This is such an utterly pathetic first world viewpoint.

I wanna prop one of those up for Halloween.

Just a couple of Cho parodies.

But I feel like they would just cause more fighting.

>acting like anyone who disagrees with your fanatical dogma is guilty of verbal murder
>which you have absolutely no problem with except when it's politically convenient for you
>and would be perfectly moral and above all criticism if the noise you call a moral code had any validity at all
I guess that's what happens when you use "freedom" to attack rational thought rather than defend it.

You're fucking mental lad, it's a comic cover for christs sake

>You kid, but I get legitimately upset over this absurd double standard that gets peddled as an actual argument.
It's not a double standard. There's a massive, obvious differenbe between portraying someone as powerful and portraying someone as a sex object. The fact that muscles are linked to male sex appeal doesn't change this.

"Male power fantasy" is a common strawman, but it's also a perfect example of a strawman with more of a point than the people who use it.

Open debate and discussion are what freedom-thumpers are fighting AGAINST, not FOR. They go to conversations where people are discussing whether X might be harmful or otherwise bad, say "shut up because freedom", and act morally indignant if the discussion doesn't end right then and there.

Are female superheroes not portrayed as powerful?
And don't even say that "sexy female equals weak," that makes no sense.

Who exactly decides what rational thought is if no one is allowed to openly discuss it and criticize it?

Because fiction is never harmful or bad. Because it's FICTION. You have free choice in whether or not to consume it, therefore if you actually, genuinely believe it can harm you you don't have to read or view it.

>Harmful or otherwise bad
The people who portray sexy comic poses (or otherwise) as being unhealthy usually aren't sitting in a room with scientists debating about whether or not it's healthy. They spam people's Twitters and scream about how harmful it is to women (with no proof), and how it shouldn't be allowed. Hence, people who do want it allowed argue (validly) that you can't ban art, speech, or thought because it hurts your feelings. You have to have concrete proof of harm, like CP, not some abstract reasoning like "it reduces women to objects, and that's bad mmmkay?"

>Are female superheroes not portrayed as powerful?
It's possible to say "this person has superpowers" while her actual depiction has her in a spine-twisting pose that lets her shove her massive tits and ass at the viewer simultaneously. This is not the same as drawing a man with large muscles. Muscles represent strength. The fact that they're considered "sexy" in mainstream circles doesn't change the fact that male power fantasies are an actual thing, and an actual male sex object would be something else entirely.

When the issue of sexual objectification comes up, some people treat "musclemen are sexy" like a dialogue-ending trump card, but in fact it makes little to no difference.

>not some abstract reasoning like "it reduces women to objects, and that's bad mmmkay?"

Or worse:

Why does no one ever consider the feelings of fictional women??

Illusion works best when put in a corner.

...

>and an actual male sex object would be something else entirely.

What do you think they would look like? I'm honestly curious.

Also for the life of me I still can't figure out what's wrong with sex objects. Because it's not like Power Girl is any less cool because she's a sex object. Or any less of a character. The whole thing just comes off as women being upset that there is some sort of societal standard for what looks sexy to most men, and they ain't it.

>Who exactly decides what rational thought is if no one is allowed to openly discuss it and criticize it?
That's precisely the problem with this particular strain of hypocritical "free speech": it's used to silence criticism. When anyone says "this speech is bad", some people will try to invoke freedom and claim that it can't be opposed because the idea of it being bad is censorship. They want the logic to end there, with no criticism, no open discussion, and no rational thought.

So men can be treated like sex objects while women can't, solely because sexy men equals muscles and muscles equals power. I'm still not sure why this makes it okay. Why are attractive women on comic covers a negative? If it reduces them to an object, isn't it the same with muscley men? They're reduced to an object of desire too, both in the sexy and envious way. Why is power somehow contrary to sexyness? Is female beauty inherently powerless? Is the feminine form equated to weak in your mind?

Also, nice assumption that male superhero objectification is exclusively muscles. Spiderman is constantly drawn in similar positions (in fact he does the exact pose in the OP on a different comic cover). Not to mention Nightwing's ass getting plastered everywhere. It's not as blatant because women aren't as visually stimulated as men, but it's still there. Hell, go to a Cred Forums gay thread. Is the objectification permissable for gay men?

This. Now that gay butt stuff has been accepted, is anyone going to get bent out of shape about men objectifying other men? It's literally men reducing people to sexual objects, according to the argument.

>Because fiction is never harmful or bad.
It's already been proven many times over that fiction does, in fact, both reflect and affect how people view and think about the world. For example, the "CSI effect". For more examples, the many people who were inspired by fictional works, or learned things about themselves from the media they consumed. For another example, the existence of the Food and Drug Administration.

The idea that "it has absolutely no consequences so it's above criticism and judgement" is bizarre enough because it clearly goes against common sense and most people's firsthand experience, but the amount of evidence against it makes one wonder if facts and reality are even what it's about to begin with.

>The whole thing just comes off as women being upset that there is some sort of societal standard for what looks sexy to most men, and they ain't it.

Well that's exactly what it's about. Overload of self esteem to the point where they feel entitled to not be judged by any standards.

gay men don't count because they're only choosing to be gay to avoid interacting with women
i've seen this exact logic too many times to count

>When anyone says "this speech is bad"
They need to prove it. We know that Holocaust denial is bad (steady on Cred Forums), as it has been conclusively proven that the argument is factually wrong. Therefore, people who say otherwise lose all credibility, are mocked, and show themselves as complete idiots. It is completely unnecessary to ban that speech.

Now, when you have someone who can't prove their arguments, and gets told to shut the fuck up because no one wants (or needs to) listen to their shitty points, you get all bent out of shape and bitch about freedom of speech. Because your views and opinions are obviously correct, and the people who don't accept them are just stupid idiots who shouldn't be allowed to speak.

Nice view, but I got one better. How about you go fuck yourself?

>sexually repressed ugly American harridans

>Food and Drugs
>fiction
Even if it does effect people, why even give a shit? You're allowed to think and believe whatever you like, others are allowed the same. The only reason you would care about what others think and believe is if you want to make them think the way you do. Guess what? Your beliefs are not objectively right and good, and other people's aren't necessarily harmful and bad. That's just your perspective. So I think I'll remain in favour of allowing people to create and consume whatever media they like.

Ah yes, the good old "all women are beautiful and innate preferences that you can't control are just racism/sexism/fat prejudice."

The funny thing is the immediate hypocrisy when they describe how they're entitled to a suave, attractive, and fit man (never seen a lesbian argue the inverse of this, but I wouldn't be surprised).

>be famous artists with a long lasting career
>they hire you to make a cover for fucking Spider-Woman of all things

he did the right thing in phoning it

Rob Liefield everybody

at one of the comic cons, cho had a model walk in and do the pose as he drew it live during a presentation.

People were mad.

What do you mean by "monster girl fictions"? Like the harem manga that sexualizes them all the time?

Now now, that's a silly thing to say.

SJWs aren't people.

pic related.

Isn't Cho that person who purposely pisses off people regardless of the subject?

How do you prove that a rapist wouldn't have committed their crimes if they hadn't watched LaO:SVU? How do you concretely prove that consuming the wrong media will make you commit heinous crimes? We all know how socialization and cultures affect normal behavior, but how do you decide what media is harmful and what media is not? Especially considering the immense difficulty in linking "negative" influences to negative behavior (like the multiple attempts to link violent video games to gun violence and aggression).

Also, the FDA example is retarded. The biochemistry of food is well understood, falsifiable, and can be replicated multiple times. The Department of Psychological Protection would run on the absolute flimsiest of evidence, and rely entirely on a small group of people deciding what is good and what is bad.

I trust the US government with the task of transparently determining what food and drugs are safe to ingest. Not what comic books will rot my brain. Maybe consider joining Mormonism if it concerns you so much.

I honestly think this is half the reason trigglypuffs got so pissed.

He loves calling out bullshit in the comicsphere.

Just so happens most of it comes from triggered women.

Their arms and backs are so weird looking.

Yeah, the ones where they constantly rape the (usually shota) protagonist until he passes out or dies.

Do those count as female power?

Tumblr is a very recent phenomenon after all. The scary thing is how they became so influential in such a short amount of time.

holy shit, the one on the left is in front of the one on the right
i thought the filename was maybe joking a little bit

Marvel went to shit around the same time that fat cunt with the giant teeth started doing YouTube videos for them.

She was a strong advocate for pulling in more feminists to the company

Is it ridiculous? Yes. It it offensive? I guess. Do I care? Not a ton, I mean, it's over-the-top and silly so I don't take it seriously. Plus I didn't read it so...ehn. Is Frank Cho an asshole? Yep.

You utterly disgust me.

Internalized misogyny/racism is basically how delusional SJWs prevent themselves from having a mental breakdown when confronted with a woman/minority that goes against the groupthink. They can't blame it on the individual, for fear of being labeled the same -isms others label them with, so they attempt to blame their wrongthink on the same external forces they're already vilifying. Basically, they reduce non-straight-white-male opponents to being victims of the culture they're trying to tear down.

This. This is the damn principle on which a free and civil society is based.

The moment you restrict speech is the moment you give that which you want to restrain power, legitimacy and agency.

Let people have cheesy comics and have your discussion as well. Nothing good comes from suppressing speech.

How does it feel to be evil?

two things wrong with your post:
first, you are assuming that the philosophies put forth by "tumblrites' originated with Tumblr. They did not.
Second, you assume that the change momentum is coming from Tumblr, itself, not individuals who happen to also post on Tumblr. that's like saying that Ebay made NES games expensive. Ebay did not. they were going to get expensive, anyway, because of the nature of collecting.

Tumblr has done nothing to make Marvel more aware of sexism and feminism. the entire nation was moving in that direction, regardless of whatever website came up to house the discussion. if anything, if you want to blame something on Thor being a girl, and so on, blame money. because that's why large companies do anything.

>wrongthink

So they're both assholes.

why does it offend you? Its such a generic spider person pose that spiderman does it all the time.

The only people claiming its offensive are those that dont know or care anything about the genre and have had little to no contact with it.

How can one man be so fucking based?

You do realise that those movements you're describing have done far more to damage the movement towards an equal society than any good, right?

Yes user, I sure love the news putting up a conspiracy theorist as a valid source of information even though he has no proof or all his sources are more inbred than the Habsburgs.

No it's not, that's just the excuse they gave because they couldn't just straight out say that sexy women trigger them and that they shouldn't be allowed.
So they came out with, muh realism, anytime anyone wants to attack something without any actual argument they come out with what's "realistic" and of course it's not used as a standard evenly for everything only the things they already have an issue with.

It's like North Korea: You're 'Political Correctness' (loyalty) is measured by your dedication to the cause. Thus everyone competes with everyone else to show they are more PC than others, being tolerant and accepting of more outlandish ideas simply because they aren't mainstream.

To compliment this, they invent an outside enemy(enemies) of whom they can blame all their problems on, and that if these enemies were to go away suddenly everything would be nice and good forever.

Now on top of it all you are always being watched and judged by your fellow tumblrites(cadre members) who will scrutinize everything you do, ready to rip you apart if you appear to be shifting in allegiances, real or imaginary.

Yet despite this, there are pockets of resistance(black market), and those that either disagree, or flat out remove themselves from the crazy(defectors). These people are considered 'normal' by most standards and lead healthy lives outside of tumblr. All the while the rest of the loyalists continue to live in their conjured fantasy world where they are the greatest, and everyone else tries to oppress them.

Tumblr has become the North Korean Juche of the internet.

No, one is an asshole and one is not a pushover.

But one of them is punching up and the other is punching down.

lets see.

one is making random art and selling it while donating to charity

the other is threatening to beat up people that do hot art of "his character", when probed for more he goes on to talk about how cover artists are the cancer of comics and he hates those that marvel sets him up with, even going as far as suggesting banning them as being positive for the industry

sorry sjw, only one of those people is an asshole.

I agree with you, mostly. there are very real effects that come from living in a hostile environment, and pervasive media can create that kind of environment. seeing situations celebrated in mass media can normalize those situations. I mean, for all your bitching about SJWs, where do you think they come from? they pick up ideas from the media that validate their own assumptions. whether their assumptions, or the media, are right is beside the point.

now, i agree that playing Call of Duty does not make mass killers, but there might be more at work in the human brain that stifles the desire to commit murder, than there is going on to prevent racism and misogyny.

besides, you learn what you are taught. if someone never gives you the idea, you might not come up with it, on your own. if you come up with an idea, but no one congratulates you for coming up with it, you might not decide the idea is correct.

He does realize that Alt Universe characters are not OC right? Hell, even Neil Gaiman was confused as to why he got the rights to Medieval Spawn for doing nothing when he had nothing really to do with his creation.

does he? all I ever see from Cho is defending cheesecake. I never got the impression he was this teller of truths, or anything.

tumblrthink is characterized by dumb people trying to act out to one another as if they are all very civilized and smart while trying to eat each other out at the faintest trace of blood.
Its not about being a good person, its about proving others are bad persons in order to be morally superior to them.
This is why whenever someone is deigned an "example" of something they become targets that are scrutinized looking for flaws that they can all jump in and tear apart.

Like what happened with Whedon the great Feminist Ally He had a giant target painted on his fedora head.

you mean harem manga? that is the exact opposite of female power. those girls are technically more powerful than the men, but they still exist for the pleasure of the guy. Monster Musume goes even further and has a legal situation where the monsters are not allowed to harm humans. so, the girls have to endure torment and humiliation until the human man can rescue them.

not saying this is a bad show/comic. I laughed my ass off. it plays with the (very stupid) tropes pretty well, and has some good characters. but it is hilariously anti-feminist.

during their diversity shift they tried to do an alt universe Gwen stacey book, where she had become spiderman.
It was a hit with young girls.

So they then tried ot do the same with a deadpool book, naming it gwenpool. It was fucking terrible of an idea. the book itself is nice but the character was clearly designed by commitee.

Shit the book wouldve been better with literally any other name other than gwen. Its even written well.( its about a comic book nerd named gwen poole that gets trapped inside the marvel universe and tries to become a super hero with her nerd knowledge)

It's what's greatest in life.

So basically, the artist flubs the perspective on the head a little and everyone loses their shit.

What a fucking tempest in a teapot.

I found the link for the video from an article trying to refute it and call maddox a shitlord, it came up before the actual video did.

honestly, I doubt he could give a shit.

Manara is a brilliant comic book artist. and a pretty good illustrator, to boot. he has done some stuff that anyone should be proud to have on their shelf. that Spider Woman cover was shit, though. he was drawing from another cover, IIRC, but that was a bad pose, too.

also, suffering is not some zero-sum game. just because one person is feeling abused and mistreated doesn't mean that another person loses the right to feel the same way. if I punch you in the eye, I can't negate your pain and rage by quickly shooting someone else in the leg.

>Spider-Verse introduces Spider-Gwen, from a universe where teen rocker Gwen Stacy gets bit by the spider instead of Peter
>It's a hit for some reason
>like, a really big fucking hit
>Spider-Gwen gets an ongoing after Spider-Verse
>then there's a whole Gwen varient month
>One of these varients was Gwenpool, who also proved pretty popular
>she also gets a series
that's pretty much it

wew lad

Punching someone is still inflicting actual pain on a person you have victimised.

If looking at a drawing causes you pain and suffering, you have a ridiculously easy and sheltered life and should probably work on growing and toughening the fuck up.

and, lets not defend any power fantasy. they are all shit. I am not a girl, but I think a female power fantasy would be the Twilight scenario: mousy, boring, self-obsessed, yet stupidly beautiful girl gets a nightmarishly powerful, but stupidly handsome, boyfriend who loves and worships her because of destiny, or some shit.

Like, jizz, how sexist comic artits can be?, gosh, you'll never see a man possing like that

Wasn't gwenpool selling poorly?

this is true. you are absolutely right, and I think a lot of spoiled brats are taking the tenets of Feminism and turning it into "I am a princess, and i should get whatever I want."

however, that doesn't mean that an oppressive media culture can't still exert a baleful influence on people's lives. I mean, 13 year old girls don't get boob jobs just for kicks.

I am not saying I am right and you are wrong. I think we agree.

I heard that, but it was from some buttblasted user so I don't know how true it was

I thought that Gwenpool was Marvel cashing in on a meme. wasn't there an illustration with a dozen Gwen______ heroes?

>"I am a princess, and i should get whatever I want."

Which, funnily enough, is a female power fantasy.

Hey I'm in London

I'm so sorry

>tumblrthink is characterized by dumb people trying to act out to one another as if they are all very civilized and smart while trying to eat each other out at the faintest trace of blood.
Which would be the most hilarious and fun spectacle imaginable, comparable to dumping people in a pool full of sharks, if it weren't because those sharks are the powers that be in society.

I completey disagree. what happens with any movement is a counter-movement. there are people who are happy with status quo. as situations change, their idea of status quo becomes endangered. rather than go with the flow, they fight back. the more things change, the more it feels like their fight is not working, so they fight harder.

what is happening right now is scared, threatened individuals chimping out. most of society is going this way, and the ones who liked things that way are losing their minds.

there are a few people who call themselves feminists, who are actually just anti-male. those people are making things harder than they need to be. I recall that analogy comparing men to a bowl of M&Ms...

thankfully, those assholes are in the minority

this.
so.
fucking.
much.

twilight is considered anti feminist and extremely sexist, it literally makes the protagonist life depend on the vampire boyfriend for everything

shes ltierally running in the woods cutting herself and trying to die because he leaves her

not really, it sells extremely well digitally, most of the girl prone books right now are making their money in there, which isnt totaled on the sales lists we get every month. ( but reported on general numbers)

Ms marvel sells the most.

Yet the audience for it is 80% women (20% gay men)

The only people who would be upset at that shit is feminazis

if I could tell the world one thing, and have it taught in every school, on Earth, it would be this:

Cheesecake is fucking fantastic! but only if it is good cheesecake! bad cheesecake is a blight on humanity

it was a variant cover month, and people bought the deadpool variant a lot, so marvel hired a good writer and their best artists to try to flesh that out into cash money

its wordporn for women.

Male porn is about hot women and bisexuals sluts, female porn is about hot guys that are extraordinaire and are obsessed with little ole them.

That doesnt mean it shouldnt exist but its the female equivalent of "Hot sluts backdoor action 21", you cant really compare porn to power fantasies

you are goddamned right it is antifeminist. I probably should have put that in my post. Bella is a terrible character, and a terrible role model for young girls.

seriously, it was written by a Mormon woman. she probably doesn't even know where her own clitoris is

>It's possible to say "this person has superpowers" while her actual depiction has her in a spine-twisting pose that lets her shove her massive tits and ass at the viewer simultaneously.
almost like Dick Grayson.

>The pose is LITERALLY physically IMPOSSIBLE

yer mum did it just fine

Mormons consider the family life to be everything, thats hwy bella comes from a broken home but the vampires have a whole mansion where their whole family lives.

She gets reborn as a vampire that will live forever with her boo because mormon woman should live for marriage and marriage alone, and the whole thing is pretty much about that.

Also mormon scripture believes black people turn white when they become angels, which is pretty much why they keep going on about how pale and white and pure the vampires are.

>ole

>be lucky your never around me
>your never around me

I just checked back on my comment and realised my foreign-ness kicked in while I was writing.
It should be "in favor of" instead of "in lieu of"

Why is there so much politics in fiction these days?
I read comics and play games to escape from real world issues.

This.
Liefeld in the west and Araki in the east proved long ago that you don't have to know anatomy or make good looking art to become successful

Comics bleed into regular San Diego life...
sandiegoreader.com/news/2016/jan/20/cover-spider-lady/

Because people want to feel important, and like they're doing something that "matters" while not actually stepping outside of their hobbies (or their front doors) to get involved in real politics about issues that actually matter.

This goes for Cred Forums and tumblr, it's basically shut-in kissless virgin wars, boys vs girls.

classism and priviledge means that priviledged white people from civilized countries need to feel better about themselves and the way they do that is by going into escapism art and trying to shit on it under the guise of "making the world better" and "punching up"

The very people that never needed escapism are the ones trying ot dictate rules on how escapism should cater only to their interests and what they think would improve the world.

This usually comes into direct conflict with the idea that shit will just get made and people can partake of it, or not, by creating the idea that people partaking of any form of media and fiction work affect the well being of the world.

You just grew up also the whole constant spew of internet bullshit makes it far easier for you to get pelted in politics. So ontop of the already political aspects of fiction now you can get every asshole's political opinion on the comic

>"A modern literary intellectual lives and writes in constant dread–not, indeed, of public opinion in the wider sense, but of public opinion within his own group. As a rule, luckily, there is more than one group, but also at any given moment there is a dominant orthodoxy, to offend against which needs a thick skin and sometimes means cutting one's income in half for years on end. Obviously, for about fifteen years past, the dominant orthodoxy, especially among the young, has been "left". The key words are "progressive", "democratic" and "revolutionary", while the labels which you must at all costs avoid having gummed upon you are "bourgeois", "reactionary" and "Fascist". Almost everyone nowadays, even the majority of Catholics and Conservatives, is "progressive", or at least wishes to be thought so. No one, so far as I know, ever describes himself as a "bourgeois", just as no one literate enough to have heard the word ever admits to being guilty of antisemitism. We are all of us good democrats, anti-Fascist, anti-imperialist, contemptuous of class distinctions, impervious to colour prejudice, and so on and so forth. Nor is there much doubt that the present-day "left" orthodoxy is better than the rather snobbish, pietistic Conservative orthodoxy which prevailed twenty years ago[...]"
—George Orwell, WRITERS AND LEVIATHAN (1948)

You best start believing in skeletons, one's in you.

This.

I don't want Euclidian if it demoralizes my boner

FUCK YOU EUCLID

>FUCK YOU EUCLID

Shut up, Lovecraft.

Sauce?

This is just dumb and the only point it proves is that whoever made this comparison can use Poser to some extent while 2d drawing eludes them.

Which I guess is a perfect recipe for a modern Marvel superstar artist these days, hope they have a twitter account filled with progressive hashtags to jumpstart their career.

HOME WORK SUCKS

head's fine thoug

What about instead of just putting a side by side comparison, also add an image with the 3d on top of the 2d so we can see where it got right and wrong?
I dont know how to do it.

ouch

You really know your shit, user... or you're a good bluff

something like this?

Check mate.

Yes, the one in the right.
But with all all them, first the 3d, then the drawing, then the mix
Great job

Be my waifu pls

This right here is why women don't belong in comics.

To quote a favorite feminist argument, "It's not for them"

A woman made this post.

>Posing a 3d model in 1 angle only then acting surprised that other angles look shit
Retarded as fuck

I guess I can ask in this thread.

Does anyone remember that qt Tumblr girl that took pictures of herself standing in poses from Comics? She did this at a time when all the rage was over how Comics sexualize women because no one can do those poses.
Then she came out and did them. We had a good chuckle on Cred Forums. This was way before this spiderwomen incident I think.

>We love your work because we're not sexually repressed ugly American harridans or nerds who obsess over anatomy

>MAH ARGUMENT IS THE END OF BE ALL...........

>.........................
>SHUT UP, MAH ARGUMENT CAME FIRST

>sorry but not sorry

Holy shit, you need a fucking smack.

God, the human brain is so dumb.

We know that. Whoever did that particular render was pushing the agenda so hard they ran off the cliff of logic.

It's been years, maybe we should move on, or atleast focus on the mildly more relevant iteration.

What the fuck is this thread...

You gotta love this whole "controversy" feminists cunts and beta bitches came up with and the ensuing removal they pushed for.
First it was
>OMG this pose is so unrealistic and anatomically impossible that's what he have an issue with, it's poor work
People proceed to prove that it's possible to do this pose
>The real issue is how she looks like she's not even wearing anything at all and it just looks like paint
Countless examples in comics of how that is pretty much the norm with nearly every hero's outfit
>The real issue is how unnecessary and uncalled for such a pose is, you would never put a male hero in such a ridiculous pose
Than people proceed to post many many examples of spider-man in similar poses including this one Why didn't they just come out with the truth? That they don't like seeing sexy women? That it bothers them? That they don't like men having and looking at such things?
I can't believe anybody took them seriously, fucking Marvel is a lost cause.

Of course you could, and it holds to a degree because it's why he was so popular in the 90s. Thing is, his art style was a fad, while Manara has been celebrated grand artiste in Europe for decades and he's always improved his art, while Liefeld is stuck in the 90s and his style has lost all appeal to most people.

>Why didn't they just come out with the truth?

Would you have done what they wanted if you told them the truth? They hide behind the veneer of "controversy" to get what they want. If they were being truthful, everyone would just dismiss them as being prudes and leave it at that.

Speaking of that "bowl of M&Ms" analogy, I hope they finally realised that argument was dumb when Donald Trump appropriated that argument regarding the Syrian Refugee crisis against them. (Replace M&Ms with Skittles, "Men" with "refugees" and "rapist" with "terrorist".

Actually the objectification angle came first. It was only after it was pointed out this was a one-time variant cover by an artist known for his erotica (and so what did they actually want Marvel to do about it?) and when it became apparent to the people attacking the cover that Manara is a laid back old European guy who was never ever going to be bullied into apologising or changing that the focus switched to anatomy.

Interestingly, SJWs never cared about accurate anatomy in comics up until this cover and have never cared about it again since.

The art sucked in the first place, it's not attractive in anyway.

well said.

being famous in Europe doesn't matter
it's like being a country singer in the States as far as importance goes

...

Of course they don't care about anatomy these days. Have you seen the "progressive" tumblr art? If they criticise anatomy, they'd be opening themselves to being called sexist, racist etc etc.

Manara always had a bad case of fish mouth and (minor) sameface.
Too bad Serpieri never worked for cape comics, it would have been glorious.

I masturbate to Spider-Woman on a monthly basis, you do not have any power over me

Linkara loves to misjudge anatomy in cómic books.

>monthly

I DO have powe over you! The power of weekly Spider-Woman masturbation!

Check mate on the 3d anatomy being right or wrong?

While I agree that is not attractive, I find all the criticism on the anatomy just wrong.

Wow, a strawman made in Poser. That's a new one.

Newsflash: you can make a mutated monstrosity out of ANY 2D drawing by just deliberately interpreting depth values wrong. It's the same exact technique that's used in optical illusions and "impossible" shapes.

>Would you have done what they wanted if you told them the truth?

I'm not going to do what they want no matter what they say. I hate them almost as much as they hate all men.

Plus it was kind of a "pre-loaded" controversy in that it was Milo Fucking Manara, king of pseudo-intellectual sleaze, sorry, erotica. So some peeps would have their guns out for that fact alone. "How dare you let this pornographer loose on this powerful independent woman character?!" sort of thing.

I did like Trip To Tullum, though, or what I read of it--can't remember if it was ever finished?

...

What's Poser?

...

It's not a good cover. Period. Probably one of Manara's weakest pieces, actually.

Cred Forums is not contractually obligated to defend every piece of shit that someone stapled tits to.

Lose some weight, and you'll be able to move and bend like that too.

Poser is a program that allows you to pose 3d models. Like people, for instance.

I can bend like that now but I can't extend my forearm like that.

You should probably get that gimp arm checked out.

I'd have better luck with cosmic rays.

you.
I like you.

>what is foreshortening

Her lumbar isn't arched enough. We see way more ass cheek in the drawing.

very true, only men can be empowered by imagining themselves as being conventionally attractive.

He's a good artist but that's a really ugly artwork and I hate that I had to see it again after all these years.

It's as if Junji Ito tried to make some soft erotica, the weird pose, the empty eyes, the stringy long hair...

Is this really what Americans consider to be 'too sexy'?

kek

Did it? I don't think it did they came up with every possible reason minus the you can't do that with female characters I was pretty much following it the whole time it was happening.
Comics didn't have the full feminist frontal attack the same way videogames did, it was more sly and indirect never quite straight out saying they are against the sexual objectification of women, it was always about comparing the female heroes to the male ones, on things like roles, outfits, behavior and such it was all about increased representation, which is why you had so many previous male hero roles become women roles.
I never saw the full feminist angle when it came to these controversies it was always behind some other veneer.

>Milo Manara dies soon
>the Spiderwoman pose is the only topic brought up by american coverage of his death, with the rest of his career covered in one line "The artist produced artwork, mostly of the erotic kind, over the span of his career."

Fun police, please go away. And don't come back.

Fitting for such a trash "artist".

>it clearly goes against common sense

Having your world view shaped by fiction flies in the face of common sense to begin with. Is it common sense to be an idiot just because plenty of people are?

You know some people are double jointed, right?

At first glance, it looks all right, other than the whole neck and jaw situation. I see a subliminal dick in the lines of her back.

Go back to bed, Disney

Is this a joke post?

Sorry Araki sensei
