The last Adventure time episode to get over 2 million viewers aired in february of 2015, it doesn't even reach 1.5 now the fandom, both adult and the targed audience, pretty much abandoned the show.

Actually that has to do with CN losing its overall viewship share within the last three years than people tuning out since barely anything gets a 2 million ratings other than TTG similar case with Nickelodeon where the constant airing on Spongebob destroyed ratings.

F&P was never on that level of popularity, sure it did well with kids and weirdos who watch kids shows but that's it. Adventure Time was a mainstream thing, even if people didn't watch the show they recognised the characters from all the merchandise. P&F was also much more consciously a kids show in it's style whereas AT was a bit more all ages before it went down the tumblr rabbithole.

I wonder what show creators who are chosen for stuff like this feel about the Simpsons. Like Pendelton Ward has mentioned a bunch of times how he loved the Simpsons growing up and it was a huge inspiration to him in how he created his show, so it must be a great honor to have an opportunity to work with the show, but at the same time like everyone else he has to realize how downhill the Simpsons went over the decades right?
