That's what made the scene of Vision deciding he has to go get his revenge at the start of issue 10 work for me too. You can see him desperately trying not to reach that conclusion, fighting himself every step of the way to not see it as the only logical course of action possible, and when he ultimately gives up you can just feel his heart breaking.

Rebirth Superman has been unreasonably good. I didn't think it was possible for DC to write such an upbeat and positive Superman again. I am absolutely adoring Jonathan Kent. He is what a legacy hero should be in a decade or however long it takes for him to age up and stand next to his father as an adult, fully fledged hero is going to be a monumental issue.
