Yeah, I doubt people even know who Jessica (or Carol) are for that matter and it's not like they have a lesbian relationship in the comics. They don't date and constantly make jokes about people shipping them. It won't be a disservice or betrayal of the character if they give her a male romantic interest in the movie or just have her be a strong indepedent woman because - brace for it kids - that's been her character for 40 years no matter how much autistic internet dyke shippers wish it to be different.

Not really because in this particular context it's a relationship between two straight people and the only evidence is that they're affectionate and have metatextual moments where they make fun of the fact that everyone apparently thinks they're dykes.
