Due to the changeover mid storytime, we missed an amusing page.
So here it is!

And with that, this case is closed, gals and pals!

Until next time, stay outrageous.

An outrageous bump for readers or potential Sam and Max discussion, be it the comic or cartoon. Or video game.

Hit the Road was apparently done in 8 months. It's really awesome though, I recommend it.

Anyone who has ever tried playing Fizzball in real life?

Still have my book. Passed this thing around so much in high school.

Hey that's fish police on the cover of that Time Magazine.

Which voices are you reading these in, Cred Forums?

Personally, I'm reading them in the Telltale voices.

Bless you Outrageous.

God bless you.

Same.

This is how you do a deus ex machina right.

Yes.
It went about as well as you'd expect. A kid took a full can to the torso and that was that.

Hit the Road. It was my first exposure to these clowns.

I'm using the ones from the cartoon

Damn, that things beaten up.

You should see my orange book from the 90s.
Wrecked.

Best gay crime fighters invthe business.

they're not gay though

They are when it's funnier.
Word o' god.

It's like it said in the intro text. I got the book and passed it around to friends so we could all be in on it.

Jesse James's severed finger.
And it's still twitching!

Holy crap, I thought the TV show made them up

>"But Max, you don't even like anthropomorphic personifications of ideals"

>"Looks like a couple are missing, probably sent back to the Smithsonian for repairs"
>"Yeah, THAT'S it..."

Sorry to ask, but can anyone please explain the joke to me?

This legitimately looks like it would be a lot of fun to play, on or off the road.

Have that edition too, shame Telltale doesn't sell it anymore. They used to sell the TV show too

Bump

I want more Sam and Max. Be it a comic, a game, fucking anything.

This was included in the instruction booklet for Hit the Road.

>intro text

There are different voices? I've never heard any difference.

I literally was looking this up last night to buy it and you go and do this, you are a god.
Pic not fucking related you hunk of man.

Holy shit, I wish that version of the play was real

The origin of the reaction image

Still the best explanation for breathing on the moon ever.

I just noticed he's wearing the criminals' masks on his feet.

BRUTAL

TV show. Best Sam.

Same. Mostly because the TellTale games were my introduction to the franchise.

Before that, the oldest point-and-click i played were Monkey island 1 and 2.

>That feel when that P is now deep within the Disney vault never to see the light again.

>Sam
TV > Hit the Road = TellTale

>Max
TellTale > TV > Hit the Road

For anyone wondering what the translations to the german parts are:

Sam:
>"Apologize miss, this is the train to Frankfurt."
(deliberately gibberish, since Sam doesn't know german)

Scientist:
>"Max. Good name"
(You probably could've figured this out yourself, though)

Hitler:
>"I'll feed [you to] my house jackal Otto."

Scientist:
>"I didn't know that the führer(leader) had a jackal as a pet. How cute."

>That feel when Telltale tried to get the TV voice actors to voice Sam & max's ancestors for Season 3 but couldn't.

That'd have been so sweet.

They did? Props for them trying to go the extra mile at least.

Seems accurate.

I know a lot of people like Hit the Road Max's accent, but hoenstly that voice doesn't really convey his hyperactive nature.

I feel the TellTale voice is the one who can sound calm and crazy and everything in between whenever necessary.

The most appropriate reaction to life.

Any idea how one can go about playing it in this day and age? As a PC game, I'm not sure how emulation would work.

Wow, I would have absolutely loved this.
With all the success from their recent games like TWD, I'm sure they probably have the resources to do something like that now.

I have no idea what kind of complications were involved or what it would even take to get them, but
it made enough sense when I wrote it.

Use ScummVM.

Too bad they are now fully focused on getting IPs and brand and do the whole interactive-story approach.

Honestly I had fun with Season 3 and, if there's not signs of TT changing to something new, I'd prefer for Sam & max to stop there.

A TWD/TWAU/etc type of Sam & max game'd be horrrible.

While I enjoy those types of games a good deal, I wholeheartedly agree.
One of the amazing things about Sam & Max is their one-track sociopathic minds on justice.

I don't want an adventure where I choose whether or not to spare the villain's life, I want an adventure where I choose whether to sic Max on the villain or just beat him with an old axe handle.

Not counting one of the charms of Sam & Max (as well as many old-fashioned point-and-click games) is check on everything and everyone around you to gain different scenes and dialogue at your own pace.

TWD's style of "What dialogue you choose you can't go back and you have to pick now" style doesn't really fit that mentality. Some of the best lines in Sam & max come from simply clicking on some useless thing or try using some item where it doesn't suppose to.

Does anyone have any downloads of the books? Especially the sketchbooks, been looking everywhere

Some of my favorites that immediately come to mind are:
youtube.com/watch?v=x9MlUuU4MZg
youtube.com/watch?v=8wkrEz8APFs

and:
>Sam: Hey monkey, I'll give you this cool gun if you let us through.
>Space Gorilla: Scram.
>Max: Really, Sam? That's the best you could come up with for "use GUN with GORILLA?"

I'd legitimately love to have an engagement ring with the engraving "hard luck".

A lot of people say Season 3 was the worst and they are entitled to their opinions as it did have easier puzzles, but it had some of the best scenes in the series.

> Does he not fear us?!
> We must teach him, Max!

Something about the way they say these lines always makes me laugh

>the dashboard of the DeSoto is actually accurate to the real life one

Man these comics have a lot of detail.

They do just have this unique delivery/"voice" that makes all their lines perfect.

I'm reading Max in his Telltale voice (specifically, his second Telltale VA, William Kasten).

As for Sam, I'm reading him in his Hit the Road voice (Bill Farmer, the current voice of Goofy).

Now, let me hijack your hijack!
Here's a mini-story drawn just for the first season of Telltale games, Sam & Max - The Big Sleep.
