It's fine for the immediate situation. but beyond here I honestly think he's being immature and short sighted. Yes all that makes sense but the problem is HOW he discovered it. Cecil fucked this up by not letting Mark know about it early on. Mark is not being immature at all, he's simply shocked by the magnitude of the deception he and Cecil let it spin out of control.
I mean look at Cecil's response to Mark's anger and feelings of betrayal. He immediately escalated things from a 10 to 10,000. He impossible for Mark to do anything but react violently.

Cecil has the problem where any situation he encounters, he tries to take it completely.
Which means he will never be reasonable, he will always use as much force as possible, to avoid using time.
And thats why he has so much problems with Mark: Mark sees that Cecil is a very shitty person in between the good deeds, and he also sees that Cecil will try to kill him over information disagreements.
