>What is this thread? Every Wins'day at Win-O'-Clock we gather here and post links to the latest scans and rips of comic books. Most links we uploaded ourselves, others we are sharing from elsewhere. Some comics we've even purchased ourselves (but most we didn't). If you'd like to help out, just ask and we would be delighted to tell you how. Otherwise, be patient, be polite, and understand the simple concept behind these words: Not posted means not available yet.
>Where can I find downloads for other comics? Warez forums/blogs (like AvaxHome), DDL-indexing search engines (like FileDiva), torrent trackers (like KickAss) and other P2P networks (like DC++). There used to be someone who would scan the newer Disney comics but they seemed to have vanished a couple months ago.
The guy who did the original scanlation deleted his links in favor of the new official release. I have no idea if they got mirrored anywhere before that or not.
shouldn't 6 be out this week or is that print only?

Print only. The digital versions come out like a month later.

The Comics of Chris Ware: Drawing Is a Way of Thinking by David M. Ball, Martha B. Kuhlman Requirements: .PDF Reader | 10.7 MB Overview: The Comics of Chris Ware: Drawing Is a Way of Thinking brings together contributions from established and emerging scholars about the comics of Chicago-based cartoonist Chris Ware (b. 1967). Both inside and outside academic circles, Ware's work is rapidly being distinguished as essential to the developing canon of the graphic novel. Winner of the 2001 Guardian First Book Prize for the genre-defining Jimmy Corrigan: The Smartest Kid on Earth, Ware has received numerous accolades from both the literary and comics establishment. This collection addresses the range of Ware's work from his earliest drawings in the 1990s in The ACME Novelty Library and his acclaimed Jimmy Corrigan, to his most recent works-in-progress, "Building Stories" and "Rusty Brown." Not the user you were replying to, but no, I don't think the DDP GI Joe comics are Storytime of Pain-worthy. They were just dreadfully mediocre and forgettable. Joe Casey can usually be counted on to write something interesting even when he isn't totally successful (see, for example, his troubled Image Comics series Butcher Baker, the Righteous Maker) but he seemed to be phoning it in on the DDP GI Joe comics. And the writing on the series only got worse once he left the title.

I still get the 60 seconds with image (just tested it out on another board). Maybe it just affects some posters and not others? If that's the case then it's almost definitely a glitch.

Yeah it is. Apparently it was called 'Ashes, Ashes' the one time it was translated in English like 50 years ago, but I figured I'd take the easy route that didn't require me to change the title.

People can learn languages as they go through life for no particular reason. I had to learn English when I was very young, so I reckon I find it easier than some to pick up languages.
Not Rhinelander either, Bavarian, the drunken rednecks of Germany.
Charles Gutierrez
Why is it surprising to you that a German knows French? Do you not get taught foreign languages in your schools? Half of Europeans can hold a conversation in at least one other language, and that's not counting immigrants.
James Edwards
>drunken redneck >says "reckon" To an American ear, you're fitting that stereotype better than you realize. The only Americans who say "reckon" and "yonder" are southerners and country folk.
Andrew Bennett
It's fairly common in the UK.
But seriously, it's a valid comparison. Beer is a large part of Bavarian culture (though we don't buy as much of it per capita as former East Germany). It has most of Germany's farming industry (and a lot of other industry, it's the richest state). And it's also possibly the most religious state, Catholicism as opposed to Protestantism, as illustrated by this map. Purple is protestant, yellow is Catholic, blue is non-religious. Got to love that clear divide of former East Germany.
Charles Perry
A bit more of the 2000AD stuff, first two are from the hubs, the third compiled by me.
>common in UK Of course. The south maintains a lot of old white gentry slang and customs. Ma'am, sir. Incumbent politeness and superficial deference towards guests. The trappings of class. Flowery language. That kind of thing.
Also if someone could give me a filename for the Dark Horse adaptation of The War of the Worlds in the same universe and for the recent Scarlet Traces Cold War if scans/rips exist, that'd be great.

By the by, does anyone know anything about Brass Sun, looks like 6 issues were ripped by some minutemen, and per wikipedia:
Brass Sun currently consists of three stories :
"The Wheel of Worlds" (in 2000AD #1800-1811, 2012, 65 pages)[3][4] "The Diamond Age" (in 2000AD #1850-1861, 2013, 65 pages)[5][6] "Floating Worlds" (in 2000AD #1888-1899, 2014, 65 pages)[7][8]
