Cred Forums writes a better Civil War II

Alright, Cred Forums Marvel has come to you to write their sequel to Civil War 'cause MCU synergy and shit. The only requirements they've given you is that it needs to include Carol and superheroes beating the shit out of each other.

So, Cred Forums how would you write a better Civil War II?

I was gonna say "Civil War, but they kill each other", but it kinda is like that

>Norman Osborne becomes president cuz Trump
>wants to reinstate Superhero Registration Act
>build a wall against the Inhumans
>Carol and the gang reluctantly go with Osborne's orders
>he's on his sane streak and crime seems to go down because of his laws
>Peter,Kamala and every other hero is against his shit
>heroes fight a few times
>Osborne eventually snaps and goes Goblin
>leads into to next event Goblin Nation or America goes Green or some shit

The Joker shows the Marvel Universe a magic trick.

Ultimatum but with 616.

It's simple, we don't write it

But who would you kill, user? And who would you let live?

I don't know, this sounds pretty much like a rehash of when Norman was Director of SHIELD? Maybe there's another villain we can use instead? We are the House of Ideas after all.

Disney is working on acquiring the rights but WB are digging their heels in, you'll have to use one of our properties instead.

Interesting, but how does a giant tidal wave inspire heroes to beat the fuck out of each other for 12 issues?

>I don't know, this sounds pretty much like a rehash of when Norman was Director of SHIELD? Maybe there's another villain we can use instead? We are the House of Ideas after all.
The whole event sounds like it's already a rehash of a mediocre event from 9 years ago. Why can't we copy shit that's already been done before when our goal is to rehash something that's been done before?

Standoff doesn't use cosmic cube fragments, just run of the mill brainwashing.

The Ultimates get their hands on a cosmic cube and want to use it to handle cosmic level threats. Other people disagree because of too much power, want to destroy the cube. Fighting happens.

Fine. Gwenpool shows the Marvel Universe a magic trick.

>Interesting, but how does a giant tidal wave inspire heroes to beat the fuck out of each other for 12 issues?
Tidal wave is ANAD Ragnarok/Void.

That's too good to be used for marvel to actually use

It IS a rehash from a movie that starred a certain short man...

Carol forms a Marvel version of the Justice Lords.

Also she wears a Military Dictator style uniform.

Every time Carol talks, she's interrupted by "SHUT UP, Carol" or variations of that.

>how would you write a better Civil War II?
By cancelling the idea.

I would sacrifice my future for that to happen.

Isn't that what we already have?

>Tony and Carol still the leads
>End up finding a crime version of BttF2's sports almanac
>"Holy shit we can stop ANY crime with this."
>But then the other raises the point that they can only trust this ONCE, because then butterfly effect kicks in and it's now useless
>Some bullshit happens
>Carol wants to keep it a secret and save it
>Tony wants to use it now
>Escalating bullshit with a fight between them on when to pull the trigger

>Ghost Rider, either Blaze or Ketch is fine, and Punisher team up because they're basically in belief it's time to start genuinely punishing the big bads who keep going on
>After they attempt it on Doctor Doom, who is immune to the Penance Stare for the same reason Frank was, they also team up

>This pisses the fuck off just about every major good, including the Avengers, who are trying to stop them
>Slowly, Avengers members start realizing Victor, Ketch/Blaze, and Frank are actually not wrong and start to assist them - they don't full on start killing people but they're willing to aid in efforts that aren't killing people

>Red Skull starts fucking around and then Hydra Cap happens, who become an even more extreme version of Team Latveria and do their own bullshit

>It's basically just a big fight over whether or not they can kill supervillains

>it needs to include heroes taking sides and beating the shit out of each other
Then you're already at a point where you really can't make a decent story.

In order to make such an event work you need an issue that the heroes will take sides on. That issue needs to be polarizing, but ambiguous enough that a reader on one side will still like the heroes on the other. Then you need to set one or both sides towards conflict through stubbornness or a misunderstanding without making any side unsympathetic which is just fucking impossible.

It's a stupid gimmicky bullshit idea. Fucking Skrulls or Brainwashing makes more sense and makes for a better plot.

Easy. Don't write it. This "heroes fighting heroes" bullshit is not interesting or in any way fun.

>It's a stupid gimmicky bullshit idea.
Welcome to Marvel the house of ideas

You're hired.

That's better. And you're shilling one of our new characters whose popular with the young, teenaged audience. Very good work, user.

Go on...

Rampant sexism isn't tolerated here at the All New, All Different Marvel offices unless the end result is the triumphant of a powerful woman over her oppressors.

Skrull-Kree war creates refugees who want to immigrate to Earth. Tony wants them in, Carol doesn't. Go full migrant crisis if you want to go political, Marvel. Don't just tiptoe around it with magical racial profiling.

>Captain America, under the influence of Red Skull and Hydra, presents faulty evidence that M-Pox can be spread to humans. This comes at the same time as the remnants of the mutant race reveal their intentions to flee Earth and colonize another planet. To avoid the disease from spreading outside of Earth and sparking an interplanetary incident, he asks Captain Marvel and Alpha Flight to prevent the mutants from leaving Earth, by any means necessary. Unbeknownst to them, Magneto and the mutants aligned with him had commissioned Stark and Banner to investigate M-Pox and it was discovered that it was actually completely harmless to humans. The catalyst for the Civil War is Iron Man, Magneto and the remaining mutants having to fight Captain Marvel, Captain America and the Inhumans in order to leave the planet and save the mutant race.
This was all a distraction by Red Skull in order to secure the genetic secrets of the Terrigen Mists in Attilan and turn himself into an ubermench with the mind of a mutant and the body of an Inhuman.

Oh, and the sides can be Pro-Retribution and Pro-Rehabilitation. Carol leads Pro-Rehab but over the course of hte plot she's secretly killing dissenters who could prove to change the course of things, and is the one who organizes for Red Skull to use Hydra Cap and demonize Pro-Retribution.

Boom, an actual polarizing topic, a metaphor for "People use Red Skull to make any side they dislike look bad," and they get to use heroes they haven't used in years.

Would buy/10

I know it's never gonna happen, but this is how Civil War II should end
>Carol beats up Tony, tells him never to put the suit back on.
>Ulysses is used to predict the future about lot of stuff.
>Tony, with no options left, kills Ulysses.
>Tony goes to jail, Riri takes over as Iron Man

>You're hired

My first issue will feature a graphic Miles/Sam/Kamala threesome while Bruno watches from the closet.

This is a good idea if you want to get political. You could have the new, politically influential Inhumans be completely against taking in the refugees, despite the fact that they're kind of the reason shit's fucked up between them in the first place.

>this isn't the real premise for Civil War 2
pic related

I like this idea a lot, actually.

Get rid of the main series, leave the tie-ins that are already doing damage control.
That's all that needs to be done.

Tony Stark and Carol Danvers fall off the wagon. The whole war is them fighting each other while drunk. Rhodey, Pepper, Jessica Drew, Peter Parker, and others have to stage an intervention for both of them.

I wouldn't.

I'm tired of Marvel's constant Heroes fighting Heroes events, as much as I am tired of DC's reboots.

Marvel and DC should ditch their multiverses and continuities. Just go to books that tell a story. When the book's run is over. The story is done. No book shares a universe with any other book.

>After an anomalous meteor shower, strange blue and red orbs appear across the globe in the homes of people of influence
>No scientist can figure out what they are made of or how they work, only that they can talk
>The blue orbs help their owners make good decisions, while the red orbs stay silent
>Then, after a blue orb gives advice that causes the deaths of several red orb owners, the red orbs begin warning their owners that the blue orbs are malicious and are attempting to control the world with their actions
>Tony, a red orb owner, believes this thoroughly after Carol, a blue orb owner flubs an interview due to her orb suddenly staying silent
>Tony and the other red-orbers begin to band together to stop the blue orbs from controlling their owners' every will and action, while the blue-orbers stand behind Captain Marvel in the belief that the red orbs are spreading paranoia
>In the end it turns out the orbs were an alien experiment to see if a world would actually listen to colored glass balls of unknown origin and go to war with itself

This sounds good!

That's an interesting idea, an event where there's no main book and you just get snippets of the plot from the tie-ins. Not like a crossover, I mean literally all the info you get from the main event are just from what would have been tie-ins.

>DC's Reboots
>Literally just Crisis on Infinite Earths and Flashpoint
>with the latter being already retconned to not be a Reboot
>And the former being acknowledged in literally every Crisis Event sans Identity, meaning it's still part of the continuity
DC doesn't wipe clean slate, literally everything is still canon. Don't be a fucking idiot. We knew that since fucking Grant Morrison wrote his followup for CoIE

I have no idea how to do that but here's my suggestion for an event. Secret Invasion 2.0, everyone is actually a Hydra Sleeper Agent Edition.

This would make a decent one-shot without the superheroes. It's make a lousy event storyline, though. The motivation within the context of the Marvel universe is flimsier than CWII and it doesn't have the potential to lead into future events.

Three words: Skrull Refugee Crisis

Just don't do anything on the Bingo and you'll have a decent( but still not good) event

Nu52, Rebirth

You need to fill in "Jewish character brings up being a Jew"

Magneto just had such a scene with Carol

Just use Stand Off.

>tony wants to use a modified terregenic mist + nanites to give EVERYONE superpowers
>then everyone is a hero! everyone is equal!
>this freaks the mutants out, because terrigen kills mutants
>tony says he will fix that
>lots of people say they dont *want* superpowers, especially humans with some powers already
>tony says they have to be forced to be equal. starts a "new superhero" project, exposing individuals to his new strains of mist in controlled conditions, dubbed "project avengers equality"
>captain marvel says no one should be forced OR given superpowers and the project is just a new weapon x
>inhumans dont want him messing with the terrigen mist, mutants know its dangerous for people to get random powers randomly and dont want to die via terrigen poisioning
>Tony`s Avengers Infinity VSCarol's Avengers VS Inhumans and X Men working together
>B Plot: magneto justifiably freaks out at tony trying to "gas all the mutants", steals the terrigen alteration machines, alters tonys mist to kill all humans and depower the inhumans

Not bad. Not bad at all.

this is best idea in the thread so far

>mutants are struggling and in hiding around the planet because terrigen cloud
>unrest among the mutant community because they feel as though their being ignored and mutants begin to resent inhumans
>disease begins to spread infecting inhumans and turning them into alpha primatives
>mysterious figure takes credit for it, speaks of mutant pride and rallies support (think pre finale Amon from TLOK)
>Beast is a race traitor asking for peace
>Carol is for this because she thinks the Inhumans have over stepped their boundaries and thinks they're taking advantage of humanity as well
>Medusa and the royal inhumans discuss possible war with the mutants
>civil unrest grows heroes duke it out some
>Black Bolt is still on his own and is looking for answers of the Inhuman's place in the world
>the leader of the mutants is Rightclopes who actually survived Battleworld and saw a vision of the future where mutants went extinct but also saw one of mutant prosperity. The only way to achieve that is getting rid of the inhumans

>pepper gets super powers from terrigen mist.
>rhodey gets killed by a terrigen powered villain in a fight
>mary jane gets killed when a new inhuman loses control of their powers
>tony goes fucking crazy and tries to reboot the entire universe via the "chronal energy radiation" still coming from the past version of the x-team
>he starts a B plan with a nanite plague designed to create mutants and kill inhumans called the "X Fog"
>he creates a C plan of creating a hybrid terrigen mist/X-Fog to create an army of "Inmutant Marvels", immune to both and make the world safe
>carol, the avengers, DOOM and peter parker team up to stop him resetting the universe
>the inhumans try to stop him from killing them, want to reset the universe to just before he went nuts and started killing them
>the x men are torn between the two sides fighting tony, as the X Fog as caused a whole new wave of anti-mutant hate and kinda wanna reset that
>carol creates a fourth faction that wants to use the hybrid terrixxen to give superpowers to those who "deserve" to become superheroes, but mainly just incredibly physically able people who are unhealthily obsessed with superpowered fame
>brotherhood of mutants want to turn everyone into a mutant with X Fog
>steve rogers:"is this what we really want? a three sided war of Inhumans, Mutants and Marvels, with our friends constantly being killed by the nature of this new world, endless battles of shifting alliances, no heroes or villains just normal people thrust through meaningless trauma to gain power and fame? no. somewhere along the line, things went wrong, and we need to try again. "
>steve throws the universe reset switch
>Neo Marvel : universe resets, but its still in modern day 2016 instead of 1960's, except people are just starting to become mutants, spider-man just created, steve still frozen in ice etc

>The Ultimates
Read: Carol and T'Challa.
Brashear and Chavez would be opposed as fuck to that, since when you've got a cosmic cube you're, like, immune to accountability.
Maybe, like, Monica would be on the fence, and one or both sides could try to use her history to convince her?
>Carol and Brashear are in a standoff
>They start to fight over the cube
>Suddenly, everyone stops as they begin to hear music
>Dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun
>IT'S LIKE SHAKESPEARE
>BUT WITH LOTS MORE PUNCHIIIIIING
