Sing

Is there any chance that, underneath all of the commercialism and the licensed music, there could actually be a good movie underneath?

No.

(just a guess)

yes

There's something off-putting about Illumination's style but I've never been able to pin it down.

Scarlett's

*ONLY*

asset as an """""actress""""" is her dull, lifeless, blowup doll body.
Her as a voice actor does not sound appealing

you rite!

>Illumination

The two Despicable Me's were good, Minions mediocre, Hop bad, and Dr. Seuss movies a bit worse. No clue about the pets movie.

I give it a 30% chance of being good, it's got a lot going against it man.

She was popular enough in that Jungle Book

It's because it's so generic that it comes off as something beyond bland. Illumination's style is a corporate groupthink session of what a cgi animated film should look like, it hits all the basic parameters and does nothing more, it doesn't really even have a style, just a function.

I thought her best voice role was in Her

I've never seen Pets, but I thought it was a little bit more unique from Illuminations other stuff, minus oncler owner

Despicable Me was fairly stylized, the rest don't seem to be as distinct.

No. It might have actually been good if the songs were original.

Not a surprise she's playing the Major in Ghost in the Shell movie.

>tfw "Ash" will die of a drug overdose like Wayne Static

>Scarlett Johansson
My god, she needs to fire her agent yesterday.

Her voice got me hard in Her.

Really, her voice is hotter than her body.

Nope unless someone sings How You Remind Me

It's Garth Jennings, so yeah, there's a chance.

Pets was pretty stylized, I thought.

That'd be nice.

There's some nice ideas in it by the looks of the trailer.

Reminder that they actually tried to sell a CD of her singing Tom Waits songs.

No

Why there are so many music movies at the end of this year?

Sing,Trolls,Moana. They all are filled with songs.

Pets played it extremely safe, designed as it was to appeal to housewives/spinsters.

It'd be far too difficult to get mass appeal with an ost. Better to license well known songs with a wide reach.

And she was terrible in that.

the success of Frozen + the amount of time it takes to fast track a shitty CGI movie

Man, for a split second I thought that character was voiced by Brody Dalle and I got all excited and shit.

goddamit, I hate this overrated piece of CGI Disney garbage.Disney this Disney that.

Frozen was pretty bad, that I will agree with.
But I don't blame these studios for following the money, especially Illumination, as that's all they've been doing for 8 years.
At least we still have Laika, Cartoon Saloon, and occasionally Pixar perusing artistry and interesting ideas

It will be good for punk porcupine porn, but that's it.

So far there is only one good piece. This needs to be fixed.

Pixar is done when it comes to creativity, save for Coco every of their upcoming movies is an unnecessary sequel.

But hey, it'll print money for Disney, that's good. Right?

They've announced they're doing no more sequels after Cars 3 (which I also don't particularly blame them for, it prints toy money for their other projects and I don't have to see it) though

Given everything I've seen in the trailers, don't expect a good plot, or any sort of interesting adventure, or even really any good music. If I had to venture a guess, I'd say the odds of this movie being good are entirely up to how well the characters and their motivations are written. If they're not, or if you're someone who doesn't go into stories for the characters and how they feel about things, it's probably gonna blow.

only want to see Seth McFarlane's big band number

The half second snippet of her singing sounds good to me, but then I don't have a lot of musical taste and wouldn't see a movie just for that song. Plus the same company produced Minions.

A decent 7/10, will get a few threads on here because cute porcupine girl.

Ahahahahaha, you bieleve in this shit? One tug of Disney's leash and we'll see another Bug's Life or Wall-e.

Borg is powerful.Resistance is futile.

Terribly boner-inducing, you mean.

John Lasseter and Ed Catmull are key executives at Disney proper nowadays though, if they feel Pixar should cut back on the sequels (as they seem to) then they can fight corporate and win, Disney absolutely needs them.
The real risk is the men themselves becoming sellouts, Toy Story 4 seems to be a sign of that but in reality the interviews really make it seem like Lasseter's making it because he wants to, he just seems to be a manchild who has a lot of fun playing in the same "toybox" so to speak, Cars was his idea too. I do bet that Disney shareholders pushed for it though, as whenever a movie grosses a billion dollars (as TS3 did) a sequel is deemed necessary and inevitable in the current production environment.
But I do really hope that after TS4 stockpiles them another cool billion they'll live up to their word and stand up and make an effort to take risks like their 2007-2009 hot streak again, after all there's absolutely bound to be reboot/remake/sequel fatigue eventually (every movie trend has a limited lifespan), and it would be a smart move on Pixar's part to be there with their respected brand name when the market changes. After all, Inside Out didn't do too shabby at all.
All that being said, The Incredibles 2 written & directed by Brad Bird is something we all wanted this whole time anyway, so something good came out of this profit-minded bullshit.

The only way I could see this been good is if it was a satrical movie based on how corrupt the music industry is

This.

I mean, there's nothing wrong in banking your career on your looks. No need to let them go to waste.

But I hate that people mistake her presence for actually being a GOOD actress.

That's seriously a good idea, but isn't most of Hollywood corrupt in the same way?

There's nothing wrong with it but posters like
perplex me.
Why do you listen to [sexy musician]?
Why do you watch [sexy actress]?
She's hot? Free porn is everywhere. Don't degrade real media by prioritizing hotness.

No, this is fust fucking glee and pitch perfect for furries

*just

Looks good to me. Compare it to Pitch Perfect and Glee or whatever. I liked those movies so it's all good.

Well Taron has a great singing voice, so it should be pretty good.

oh hey is that a talking animal?
well all that zootopia movie money is guaranteed!

what kind of panties would she wear

Little to none.

Why make it about animals if there's no point? The jokes and story are all character/action based, so it just seems like they want to get the Zootopia crowd.

Stop

this movie was in production before zootopia,

how many times we need to clear this?

I fucking hated Glee, stopped watching when the chick went into her whole "I don't watch movies" spiel.

You may as well film the screenwriter jerking off with the caption "I'M SO SMART"

but how am i supposed to draw content without vital input such as what panties she wears

The secret is out on Winter Blockbusters.

She's a punker, so the kind of panties that scream "I don't have to follow society's rules!" while at the same time promoting binge drinking and moshing.

... what, are you serious?

No.

No, of course not

Nope.
Shrek is the only animated movie I enjoyed that had licensed music. Licensed music says a lot about a production

>has he money to buy rights
>shows that they didnt take the time and effort to make their own appropriate soundtrack so they need to borrow music from other artists

I NEED A HERO

I enjoyed the licensed music for the first two movies, really didn't care for what they used in the next two. Whatever that metal song was that played during the Snow White scene.

I dunno if you're trolling but it's a pretty famous song.

Still a terrible choice though

That stevie wonder and Ariana grande song sounds really good from the clip they released. Probably the only thing the movie will have is the voice talent

pretty much.

I always thought her voice was boring and unemotional. I hated her in The Jungle Book, but somehow she fucking nailed it in Her. Could be a case of the director having to really push to squeeze talent out of someone who doesn't normally put the effort in.

I know WHY they're doing it, I just think that using a pop songs makes it far less interesting. I don't want to watch animals sing shitty renditions of songs I've heard thirty times apiece on the radio. I want to see animals singing original music that relates to the stories and characters of the movie. I don't see why they didn't just make it a musical outright.

Well it is by the director who did 'Son of Rambow'

So maybe there is chance this movie will end up being like Surf Up.

This

No one is asking the important question.

Will All-Star be in the film?

I want to ____ the gorilla.

Wow, didn't expect this kind of reaction

Thought Cred Forums would be hyped for this... the trailer looks innocent enough

>not snatching up a role in an animated furry movie
>in the golden year of animated furry films

yeah, tots

>pink pok-o-dot
>black with pink paisleys
>no panties

arrest*

The porcupine is cute, at least.

I'd fuck her.

It looks super bland and aimed at middle aged women, I don't know why you would expect 20 something men to be interested in it.
