There have been mediocre songs, but I've really liked most of them.

It's one of the things keeping me from watching it. Any time I've come across someone posting one of the songs in that show I just roll my eyes. I hate using buzzwords but I found the musicals in this ep to be cringey as hell. It felt super out of place. I was looking forward to an actual all out battle between them, not a.... uh.... musical battle, straight out of MLP: FiM where the mane 6 fight off Nightmare Moon. if you're gonna make it an action cartoon with 'so deep lore' and shit keep it serious for when it counts and keep the musicals for the more upbeat episodes where there's not as much going on. This episode is where the show started to lose me because I anticipated it being a pivotal turning point in the show but it was handled really lightly.
