Not a knock at the artist, but comics like this make me wonder if readers value color over composition.

I'm working on a comic right now that I'm rendering in grayscale and I worry that doing so will harm potential viewership.

I believe color holds attention longer, yes, but any well-done (or simply even "attractive") art will still likely gain viewership period.

Well that particular artist is fairly new and is learning.

The way it looks can bring in new readers more easily, but in the end it's the content that keeps them

Guy made a short-lived webcomic inspired by Prequel, abandoned it for a while and retried it recently. He's currently attempting to start a different story in the same universe, no idea what else.

If I recall correctly, the gist of it was that the girl (cayla) is searching for a job, and she's told at that tavern that she's got possibilities at the place with the dapper lobster sign.
Lizard is some old friend or something which she hadn't seen in ages, employed at that place.
Dude working on that weird robot thing was the boss, we were about to meet him I guess.

Also, there was something about neighbors complaining about the dapper lobster place making too much noise, not too sure about that though

Hi guys, Evo here. I really feel bad that I had to disappoint you guys back then. If it helps I can tell that I'm still working on the new story and feeling passionate about it although production has slowed down a bit since beginning of this semester at school has been quite a handful. We are working on a 3D-animated short film so there's lots of stuff to do. But things are starting to calm down as pre-production is nearing its end. I can continue working on the comic along side with this animation project. I just want this one to be the one, so it's going to takes some time.

Hmm... Ever since I started doing forum adventures I have been taking more Prequel like approach, I personally am not really that familiar with Ruby Quest but have to take a look at that at some point.

It basically comes down to draw as fast as you can to keep people engaged and do it in segments.

Also off topic does anyone know a good place to commission artists for partners in making a comic story. I know some people that draw but they're all busy majoring in other shit and don't have time. There's probably a site or something that supports it right?

Nah. For one thing, he actually came out and told us he was putting the comic on hold for awhile, whereas Kaz would've just kept making excuses and promising an update "next month, for sure!"

It turns from a silly little slice-of-life comic and into full-blown high school drama. It kinda sucks about halfway through Volume 4, but that still means over a thousand pages before it does.

Also, the creator has regular draw streams where she takes requests and pretty much doesn't give a shit about what people ask, so some of the results are hilarious.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say but basically it's a short dieslpunk themed story with dogfighting against a dragon. Not really anything mind blowing or something that makes sense but the main goal is to make something pretty to show off in portfolios once it's ready.

The world layout has gone through a little make over and some events might be a little bit different but I'm aiming to connect the events at least loosely together but the character itself hasn't gone through any significant change so her personality and goals are still similar.

Things like Endtown have the luxury of never ending, allowing them to accumulate a fanbase over several years. It's a lot harder when you actually plan the whole comic out first and refuse to spend more than three years on one comic.
