Puppet Master Storytime Part 2

Issues 1-7 here: Continuing yesterday's Puppet Master storytime.

This arc has a lot of ties to Puppet Master 2, but watching that movie isn't required.

...

...

by the way, this is issue #8.

Hey look it's Harley Quinn.

...

...

...

...

Is he okay?

...

>hanged with your best friend's guts

Now that's a good one.

I can't say I've ever seen somebody get scalped in a comic before.

...

...

...

...

...

...

Decapitron looking particularly alien here. And Leech Woman got a makeover.

...

...

...

>half puppet, half boy

...

This looks like the fucking Chateau D'if

Haven't read Scalped, I take it?

End of Issue #8.

Issue #9

Leech Woman a C U T E

...

...

...

dollsex dollsex dollsex dollsex dollsex dollsex dollsex dollsex

And they say there no more true romance stories in comics anymore.

Isn't this a fun book? It's got action, romance, horror... what more do you need?

...

Mainstream success

Awwwww :(

>all according to keikaku

...

...

...

...

ya know I'm right, babe

take it back

its not true

...

Poetic justice?

or maybe they felt like they hadn't killed enough people yet in this issue

Either way I really like this new artist's take on Leech Woman.

...

I'm not 100% certain that anybody who works on this franchise knows what leeches do.

...

...

true, but they are leeches that come from a magic puppet. for all we know they could suck souls and not blood.

...

True. There are a couple situations where they're useful, especially in the context of this series, but it's always kind of funny to me when she spits a leech on a guy and they die from it.

...

...

I wanna go out on the limb and say its the janitor wearing his love doll.

DUN DUN DUN

End of issue #9

my money is on the Director.

i always remember puppet master as the only movie Greg Sestero starred in besides The Room.

We'll see...

As an aside, Torch's dopey face always makes me laugh.

I'm fucking loving this OP. I think I'll buy the trades and watch the movies after this.

...

i think it's really weird that blaze resents his nazi affiliations but continues to wear that emblem.

Yeah I wanted to do these threads because I really liked the few issues I'd read of it. I especially like how they start tying threads together between the first and second movie that kind of got lost.

...

...

...

...

>my dad died ten years before I was born

...

...

...

...

Kinda curious on how they communicate, is it like telepathy or just a general puppet sign language?

...

Pretty sure they communicate through some kind of telepathy with each other, and the kid says he's a psychic who "hears" them in his head. I think generally Puppet Masters can understand the puppets, too.

...

...

...

She just immediately accepts them. Just like "Yeah, puppets. This is normal."

...

...

...

...

we were both bamboozled kid.

...

Damn, that's what I get for not going with the fairly obvious choice...

End of Issue #10.

I just have to post this ad.

Beginning issue #11

>thighs

You have piqued my interest

...

...

...

...

the last panel is a good reaction image.

...

it totally is

...

...

I've never related more to a character right now than I have with Mark, eating a sub, and reading porn.

>skin mag and a hoagie

What more could you ask for in life?

thanks op, id forgotten how much i used to love watching the films. i had no idea they kept making them regardless of how bad they got

how did he get those things in a mental institution

Eh, they fluctuate wildly. I wouldn't say they get worse, because sometimes you get some really good modern ones, and then sometimes you get Puppet Master vs Demonic Toys.

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

The green tint around her eyes keeps remind me of Starfire.

And I haven't watched the Puppet Master movies in a LOOOOOONG time, but exactly what kind of puppetshow were these puppets used for?
Like, some kind of mature physical comedy show in which they rampaged around the stage?

...

!!!

He was just a regular puppeteer who used magic to make the best puppets he could. The magic was obviously evil, and things immediately got out of hand.

I believe they are puppets who hold the souls of their maker and his friends. They were used to escape the nazis through force. Designed for killing from the start.

That's what I picked up at least.

magic stolen from a demon... so yeah evil mojo. no wonder it would corrupt any touched by it

Nice been meaning to read this
Bit I've only seen the first movie, and know theres like 10 more
So idk of I know the lore well enough to read this.

yeah its pretty much both of these. They go into it in 2 and... Retro Puppet Master, I think? I can't remember.

Which is why they're always flipping out.

Panty shot!

...

>orange and blue
For the sake of saving image posts I'm just going to use imgur for my reaction image
i.imgur.com/R6OxocL.png

good reaction image here

They showed the panties to make it erotic or some shit?

End of issue #12

What can possibly happen next?

Was kicking them just not an option for that guy?

Beginning issue #13

If you haven't noticed, a LOT of this is tying into things from the first two movies.

See the problem here is that he accidentally switched the pocket for his evoker with his gun instead. Always remember to keep the safety on when trying to summon your persona.

They all seem pretty agile. Don't think so.

...

Awww, I was hoping for Teen Beach Mystery Adventure.

...

So i take it Anthony is the child of that demon dude and the psychic?

We could have had a Scooby Doo style comic starring these three and the puppets.

imagine.

All will be revealed.

...

So whats the deal with Toulon's/Decapitrons head? does he just keep a bag over it or does he keep a few multi purpose heads with him?

>almost 5 minutes since OP posted

PANIC!

Neil Gallagher was the guy in the first movie, Puppet Master. Check it out if you want details. His mom who died in the car crash was Neil's wife.

This explains why she disappeared between Puppet Master and Puppet Master 2

The alien looking "Morph" head is liquid metal and can shapeshift (that's the Toulon head.) The TV looking head is his "gun" head, and he's got another one that's a totem (you saw it back in the last arc.)

He's kind of a super puppet so he has a lot more abilities than the others.

...

...

...

>pages where they kill people, the child included, barely gets a stir out of me
>"This library holds several one-of-a-kind books"

THOSE MOTHER FUCKERS!

...

Wow. Those demon-serving motherfuckers are dicks.

does make you feel any better?

...

>feel better

No. The books still got burned.

...

He's just sipping at that mug like "Yeah I'm the Puppet Master."

Remember, in Puppet Master 2 they needed human brain bits to make their juice.

...

...

...

goddammit hiro

the new cooldown between image posts is so long that all my captchas time out between posts

...

just get a Cred Forums pass :^)

...

I'd rather cut off my own dick that buy a 4chins ass

Blade poking Camille cracks me up in a way I can't explain.

He always looks so happy

...

...

That's the end of issue 12, by the way.

Now for lucky 13.

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

This seems simple enough...

...

...

...

...

...

BIG

GUY

End of Issue #13. On to Issue #14.

...

...

holy shit this page looks ridiculous

...

...

S'wat happens when you skip leg day.

...

well I mean it's a comic based on a movie about living puppets that have to do with ancient Egyptian voodoo. what ISNT ridiculous about any of this?

...

...

...

...

...

...

I hated the last few issues of this

...

>Always seeking to distance yourself from your Father. So much so that you found your love in fire where he found love in wood.

Man I love the writing in these comics. It really flushes out the puppets and mythologies.

look at that Krusty the Clown in the top left of this page

Last few in the thread or last few published?

Because in the coming issues Yeah, they seem to suddenly trash everything that they've been building towards for no reason. At least Andon comes back but what happens to the kid all of the sudden is kind of jarring and not very fun.

i stopped reading after they defeat the monsterHow is the series now ?

Last few published. I had liked what they were doing and it fits the series but it was sudden and i didnt like it

Future books have a lot more continuity nods, too. They talk about why Leech Woman comes back after 'dying' in 2 and why Six Shooter is gone in the first couple movies.

Plus I've enjoyed them explaining what happened to the chick who took over as Puppet Master in the first movie and what happened at the home for troubled kids at the end of 2. I DO wish they explained why Toulon was inexplicably evil in 2 and didn't give a shit about Leech Woman. IMHO the only explanation is that it was an impostor.

As of issue 18 the status quo changes completely. Issue 19 isn't out till November so I have no idea what's going to happen.

Is that the robot from Forbidden Planet in the bottom right?

Agreed.

...

...

Uh oh

...

...

...

...

and that's it for issue 14!

There's one more in this arc, so let's see how things wrap up!

Beginning issue 15

...

BIG GUY VS BIG GUY, WHO WILL WIN?

...

guys....

what if the biggest guy....

is actually the littlest guy???

...

...

...

>top right panel is him covering the most awkward boner in history

...

...

deep.

>got your back bro

...

that thumbs up

Holy shit, they actually fixed up Puppet Master's horrifically broken continuity.

...

Honestly though did anybody actually think that you could beat an Egyptian God Card with fucking Mokujin?

It's....not COMPLETELY broken. It's just full of massive fucking snarls. The comics are definitely going a long way to smoothing things out pretty effectively though.

>. I DO wish they explained why Toulon was inexplicably evil in 2 and didn't give a shit about Leech Woman.

They explain it in Toulon's own words in these comics.

His brain was rotted and he was brought back insane.

I've read way past this and I wonder what his plan was.

He has trouble with a handful of enemies, what did he expect to do against modern weapons?

It feels like horror icons always get a power upgrade for comic adaptations.

Like Jason in the comics having instantaneous regeneration and even MORE super strength.

I totally must have skipped over that part, but that does make sense. Do you remember which issue? I need to go back and read it again.

>punching a wooden dummy
>getting a broken hand for it

I mean... What the fuck did you think was gonna happen, kid.

...

I've read everything from this up to the most recent, there's so much material I'd have to really look.

It's only like 1-2 sentences, but he basically says they brought his corpse back with a rotted brain, so he was only a shadow of his actual self, obsessed and insane.

Watching the PM movies in order is depressing.

You watch the effects budget peak in 3, then shrink more and more every film. The puppets are less convincing every film.

I guess he's the real dummy

to be fair the puppets have always been retarded powerful. Pinhead especially does things regularly that seem absolutely impossible for something his size.

Yeah that makes sense, especially since the only other major ressurected human corpse is Neil, who is also fucking insane, and Toulon has been dead way longer. I guess the puppets are a better way of preserving souls, even if their magic makes them kind of crazy.

Okay so this becomes a thing in the coming issues and I like it a lot. He goes to a psychic theater to commune with the soul of the puppets.

Does she see him as sutekh?

...

Don't want to take up image space so ima link it off of imgur
i.imgur.com/R4gF0LD.png
that fucking face

kek

...

Maybe he should've made them out of something stronger than wood, a lot of transformers toys are made of die cast metal for example.

Tunneler is the hero we deserve.

>die cast
It's a lost art.

...

FOR CHAOS

so much for being some ancient egyptian god.

So apparently Drac's out of commission for the near future, but it's cool that Kahn joins up. I'm pretty sure the only thing he's ever done is appear in 1 scene in the first movie.

...

aaaand that's it for tonight. Tomorrow I'll drop in and do the three last issues and the Halloween Special.

If you've liked them, the trades are out on Amazon up through the previous arc, and the books are up on Comixology.

So as far as i understand from all of this, the dolls themselves aren't evil, it just depends on the master and whatnot.

I'm kinda new to this whole thing and found out there are movies based off of this? Are they worth checking out?

the movies came first.

first one was in 89, and was a direct to video that was so successful it spawned a franchise.

Some of them are. They're evil for 1-2, then in 3 you go back to the beginning where they help Andre kill Nazis. 4-5 have them back in the present, where a benevolent puppet master takes control of them and they face Sutekh and his minions.

Everything after that is trash.

Thanks for the story time. Looking forward to the rest.

>Drill to the head stops him

Their definition of God must have a low bar.

Thanks, Friend. Greatly enjoyed it.

In the meantime, have a cute Leech Woman variant.

So who's your favorite puppet? Where are you hoping the series goes next?

I like them. I'd definitely recommend the first one no matter what, as it's an objectively good horror movie. Then 2 and 3 are both pretty solid. After that it's sort of hit and miss but I'd still at least give them a watch while browsing the internet or something.

This site rates them all: oh-the-horror.com/page.php?id=652

Torch a best.

I went back and checked and it was in issue 5 on page 6. That's always driven me crazy so it's nice to get some closure on that.

It was nice of them to throw that in as an explanation.

In retrospect, it's a little awkward to overexplain it like that, but it works well enough.

Thanks for the storytime.

>bored
>see Cred Forums storytime
>decide to kill time and read it
>now i'm hooked
>feel compelled to look up older issues and wait for the next one

not again

Well, I'm glad people are liking this. I guess most people didn't even know the series existed.

i member puppet master

I didn't.

I only knew because I read something called Vampblade, which had a PM ad in the back.

Ah, Vamplblade. They advertise it and Zombie Tramp in Puppet Master too, like Is it any good?

CIA no..

Flaming Carrot!

this looks creepy as fuck

tunnler, but i love em all

Great job

Bump

fuck this cooldown shit

If you were the puppet master, what would you do?

keep them safe and well cared for.

Chill with my puppet homies and not make them commit mass murder.

For as shitty as the movie is, the guy from Puppet Master vs Demonic Toys is probably the best Puppet Master since he just let's them hang out and protect him instead of trying to use them.

>Hans is employee of the month
nice details.

Same here.

And if you want a run down of the movies:
youtube.com/watch?v=izOUK9cXDgA

>he wanted Full Moon to be movie Marvel Comics

that makes so much sense.

I always wanted to ask this but how would you feel about a Puppet Master movie taking place in 2016 right now

like what if a big corporation looks into the magic that made the puppets and tries to market mass produced puppets to sell to people as little helpers but then it obviously backfires, with the original gang fighting off a more modern race of evil puppets based on modern technologies?

They kinda do something like that in Curse? Like the blending science and magic. But yeah I'd kind of like some more modern puppets after spending years on fighting nazi stuff.

The idea of blending technology with puppets gives me flashbacks to Hellraiser: Hell on Earth, which I know a lot of people hate I am not one of those people, though, and I think it'd be pretty fun.

They could also do world travelling and have puppets from all sorts of different countries; I've seen rumors of a cancelled Japanese Puppet Master toyline that could be cool to pull from.

So many kinds of puppets from around the world sounds fun

I could see a big dramatic movie happening where Toy Masters around the world fight off a big corporations mass produced puppets from taking over and killing people with there own puppets with many different flavors from stuffed puppets to ventriloquist puppets to even shadow puppets, all banding together to fit off basically a new wave of evil from earth

It sounds fun

>Bunraku puppets, polynesian totems, and german marionettes fight american mass-produced robot toys

That would be a pretty fucking awesome movie, not gonna lie, that sounds really fun

>Blade and the crew, fighting off swarm after swarm of robo toys
>The puppet master himself is fending off a big animated robotic golem
>Suddently a nearby wall breaks down, revealing a large army of puppets and there masters
>Big battle and war, fending off the robo toys as well as a grand meeting with all Puppet masters, both good and evil to bring down a higher evil on the world

bumperoni
