I'm still pretty sure they are going to fix up Earth-2 to make it decent enough for crossovers or whatever and the are just going to have separate versions on Earth-0 for the old JSA stuff. Nothing else makes sense and it would fit alongside other things they've done like the two Wallys. They know what people want and since you can bring that back without shitting on new stuff too there's no real reason to do anything else. But I guess we'll see.

You can still try, but that doesn't mean it will turn out well. And it's not like this is not just speculation. We have an industry source (not unbiased of course, but worth taking into account) saying that not everything was the writer's choice. It doesn't make sense to claim that he should be to blame for everything that went wrong or every decision when we know that at least part of it was not him. And acknowledging this uncertainty of specific blame doesn't remove him from the result outside of hyperbolic shitposts. Ultimately the run is what it is and Johns doesn't attempt to disown it (at least not directly, he did obviously attempt to apologize for it with his Adventure run).

I think you're just trying to meme now because I don't know why you'd say this. I've never seen anyone deny that Johns' main weaker works (pretty much only JL, TT, and Brightest Day) aren't up there and discussing the circumstances surrounding these things is not trying to alleviate him of blame. It is just attempting to figure out what went wrong because people care more than just saying they were shit and moving on like stuff by other creators.

That is rare. If anything a lot of the lackluster output from DC in the 00s pre-Nu52 and post-Nu52 era shows that is impossible.

The difference is people will try and understand for their favorites. No one is going to explain away Will Pfeifer or Jodi Pocault on Amazons Attack or Wonder Woman or the various writers for Countdown but the same thing happened.

Most of the current troubles is because of the geopolitical tension between China and Japan. If you rewind the clock back to the 90s it was less of an issue because Chinese still needed Japanese investment.
