A bit more seriously, Cred Forums isn't likely to go anywhere too soon. We're more likely to see the merging of boards and reduction of the archives, at least, before that. I doubt that Cred Forums and Cred Forums would merge but probably because of the size of things: Cred Forums is one of the larger boards so you likely wouldn't want to be merging it with other boards. I could see the porn boards merging and /mlp/ getting absorbed - although I don't really know what they do over there - although I highly doubt anything is getting merged with Cred Forums outside a desperation move.

If the rules and moderation reflected the will of the community I would buy a pass in a heartbeat. I can't help but wonder if maybe super-large boards-for-every-topic *chans haven't overstayed their welcome. Would we be better off with dozens or hundreds of smaller topical *chans, each with their own goals and cultures, admins and communities? Smaller communities can have some pretty significant advantages to dealing with shitposting, and the kind of network of links you would need for discoverability wouldn't be hard to set up.
