The Democratic Party was founded by Andrew Jackson and was the conservative and dominant party in America for a while. Then in 1860 Lincoln was elected as the first Republican president, and after that there was a long period of Republican hegemony in DC. So in the 20s - 40s the Democrats started to change their platform to appeal to the progressives, which is how FDR came along. He and Truman together made 20 years of Democrats in the White House, so the Republicans had to start to change their own platform, which is where the Southern Strategy came from. Still, it wasn't until around the 70s that big urban states like New York, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts were considered Democratic territory, while rural states like Texas, California, and Florida were considered Republicans.

It was democrats who pushed Jim Crow. Democrats grow government, and Trump is pretty much a democrat. Clinton is a neocon warhawk.

parties in early america were regional and based on economic interests. the democrat republican party was the southern pro-slavery anti-tariff party. jefferson and jackson were democrats, you can look them up. the whig party was the northern party interested in protecting the manufacturing economy and was pro-tariff but not really anti-slavery. the republican party started in 1850's as an anti-slavery party. when the republicans won the 1860 presidential election and took over congress, the south seceded and fought the civil war, practically all the southern states had voted for the democrat candidate.

after the civil war the republican party had huge popularity, becoming the establishment party. the democrat party slowly started becoming the "minority" party. catholics and immigrants and southerners would join, they became pro-liqour and pro-silver, the republicans were anti-alcohol and for the gold standard. basically republicans started to represent moralism and fiscal conservatism, all while being the pro-black party, they had freed the slaves after all.

anyways the depression is what really set the mold for todays parties. the democrats adopted a socialistic economic policy in response to the crisis and have kept that characteristic. the south keeps voting democrat though because there is money, the rich business owners that want everyone to tough it out live in the republican north.

when the economy improves, southern whites show their loyalty by running eagerly into the arms of the republicans, who let on that they never liked the blacks to begin with, especially not now that they had to pay so many of them.

The democrats purposely promote the narrative that police shoot blacks for no reason other than they are black so that blacks will rebel and attack police which is what actually results in blacks getting shot.

The want blacks to fight police and get killed. They want blacks to riot and destroy their own neighborhoods.
They want to keep blacks on welfare by perpetuating the idea that a racist america won't hire them anyway and voting for more welfare to keep the dems in power.
The whole democratic platform is about keeping blacks down by promoting the idea that they are lesser and can't look after themselves.

Republicans treat blacks like equals they expect blacks to behave and live by the same rules as everyone else and they believe they should be punished for failing to do so.
