Take out student loan to get degree

>take out student loan to get degree
>resulting jobs don't pay enough to pay back student loan

This has been common knowledge for a very long time now, so why do people still fall for this?

>Attach ball and chain to leg
>"Omg there is now a ball and chain attached to my leg!"

I'd argue it depends on how wise you really are.

Had no problems finding scholarships/grants until the last semester; a loan of five grand was needed.

Five grand is and was piss easy to pay off.

I'm talking about the people with tens of thousands to pay down in student loans.

It's literally designed to make and keep you poor. Forever.
We're going to have to kill these people. I'm not a fan of violence but they took that path long ago.

>It's literally designed to make and keep you poor. Forever.
And everyone has known this for quite some time now.

Should've studied something useful and not "women studies"

I dont have that problem when I only pay 200€ a year.

Because you go to school your entire childhood being told "If you don't have a degree you're basically unemployable."

>Get degree
>Be 10-20k in debt
>Don't have to pay back unless you make enough money

I don't see the issue.

Do you guys have to actually repay the debt no matter how much you earn?

I graduated 8 years ago and still don't earn enough to repay my university debt lmfao. Funniest part about it is that I'm working for the government.

>be idiot
>get idiot-loan funded by government
>take idiot-course in idiot-subject
>get pushed through 3/4 years of said idiot-course because that means guaranteed money for unis, and if they give you idiot-paper at end of idiot-course there is a chance of you taking on more idiot-loans to get post-idiot-education at their school or other school
>can't find idiot-job because there are too many idiots and too few places where idiot-subject is applicable
>whine about there being too many idiots
>demand more idiot-friendly reality

Pretty much.

>read contract
>states exactly how much I get and how much I will have to pay back
>"Haha, alright :DD"
>sign it
>spend all that money on weed and Starbucks

>bank asks me to pay it back a few years later
>"What the shit I didn't know about this!"

>be differently abled in the head
>get grant of $2400/semester for taking 1-2 courses
>probably a fuckton more if full-time
feels good knowing that normies won't be able to buy a house after they graduate and will be stuck renting for the rest of their lives, desu

Now that women have taken over society, the future is bright!

> live in a first world country
> go to university for free
> ???
> profit

The thing that people don't realise is that you're not going to have a starting wage that much bigger to what you could have got anyway without a degree. You still have to work your way up the career ladder like everyone else, and that's when you start to slowly pay it off. I know having a degree is portrayed as some kind of skeleton key that's supposed to earn you big money but realistically it's just another bit of paper that gives you an advantage over people who don't have one, like every other qualification.

I took out about 25-30k for school loans. I paid for school and books and that's it, the rest went into the bank and is still there. I have 13k in the bank right now.

I don't have a job in my field yet but hopefully should in the next 6 months since I'm in the hiring process with several departments. I'll be able to pay off the minimum every month with my student loan money in the bank which will easily get me by until I make enough to pay for the rest out of pocket.

Also if I work for a government organization my loans are forgiven after 10 years. They will probably be paid off by then anyway but we will see.

On a side note, I got a degree in law. The degree itself will help land me a job but that actual education I recieved was useless. I had to take SO many sociology related courses it was retarded. I'm convinced even descent degrees by today's standards will be useless in 10 years with the way """"higher"""" education is going

Because it's not just smart people who go to college anymore. I've heard that college students hover around 115-120 on average, but that really can't be true.

There is a huge issue.

You owe someone something you cannot repay.
If you do not see the importance of this, you aren't truly understanding why freedom and liberty are important.

>115-120
What, IQ?

saturation of low paying degrees.

>mfw Somalis and Syrians will soon be given degrees without even attending because of Muh diversity.

because they don't understand plumbers earn quite the decent buck.

Thread/

>tfw not sure if I should go 400K in debt and go to medical school or stick with my pharmacy degree

Life is hard.

this, and the fact that id they do find a job, they make the lowest possible payments. Interest is not a thing to be taken lightly.

Technically you are unless you don't mind fixing boilers and air conditioners.

>your tax money goes to idiots studying womens studies just so they can party and be a kid well out in their 20s
if they want to fuck around they can pay for it themselves.

People will surely notice soon. I would estimate only 20% of degrees awarded are worthwhile, maybe even less. For people these days "college" is for the experience.

I did my math degree because I want to be a math professor because I love math.

I got a two year degree in Cosci and took a bunch of math classes. I wrote a lot of code and got a job making 80k. No sent, no libtard brain washing and no hassle. Call me a stem Lord though because all you took out loans that you think you should be entitled to get forgiven. I worked at taco bell for three years while you got your college experience.

Because even shit jobs want degrees, now.

You want to work customer service at nutrisystem telling fat people 'no refunds' for $12.50 an hour? 4 year degree required.

>For people these days "college" is for the experience.

Yeah. No one who has work to be done gives a fuck where you got drunk for 4 years.

Just a reminder for all you collegefags out there: Good fucking luck getting a job anywhere other than at a generic corporation with a huge, useless HR department--you know, the type with 9 triggered hamplanets and one token lisping faggot.

I own a small business (5 employees) and can't risk hiring some useless twat who needs his ass wiped 20 times a day, so I've been keeping a list of the schools that teach and accept SJW crap: Mizzou, Columbia, UCLA, Berkeley, Yale, Brown, Vanderbilt, all those sorts of places.

Any application I ever get with one of these places on it will go in the trash immediately. At some point, I'll just have to ignore any 'degree' handed out past a certain time.

I'm sure I'm not the only small employer thinking this way.

I didn't think you had to pay fees in Belgium. I graduated debt free.

>get paid for studying master's degree in compsci
>free housing and spending monies for five years
>state backed student loan for extra shekels with practically zero interest rate while studying
>move to Switzerland for work for double the wage and start business based in Estonia for lower income and corporate tax
>watch over-educated Finland sink under liberal faggots with worthless degrees and undeportable refugees eating cheap popcorn bought from Germany

Don't hate the system, learn to play it. Thanks EU and ETA!

because the administration wants them enslaved to welfare. that's why that same administration pushes SJW propaganda on them, and they all major in gender studies.

if you spend $240,000 on a gender studies degree, or an art degree, or really anything other than STEM or law, you deserve the debt.

>I graduated debt free.
So did I, this thread is about the US system.

looking back I would gladly choose the debt + college experience over no debt + community college because the college experience is fucking awesome

This can't be true, where did you hear this?

That would devalue the degree that thousands of people got by working and studying hard, i would sue.

>I would sue

You would lose. They'd just call you a racist and hang you in the court of public opinion.

...

This, too.

who gives a fuck

This is only a problem if graduates can't get jobs at all, therefore it's only a problem if you're a white male with a STEM degree. You can still pay back a loan with any entry level white collar job, but you cannot pay back a loan as a NEET.

That last row is 0% 0% 100%, with each row in the black column ranging from 80% to 100%. This literally proves there is no standards for black entrance, it's literally just "you're black and applied, congratulations."

Reminder that those useless degree holders generally get jobs in HR. Consider the implications.

Oh yeah, IQ. SD 15. I need sleep

Noone wants to work at some 5-people phone repair shop anways so fuck off

Hillary actually CARES about the college debt issue. Unlike Drumpf who actually scams people that took Trump University degrees.

That's why I'm voting Hillary when I get back from meeting Sadiq Khan.

I would imagine people working and paying taxes would.

I actually agree here.

I was thinking of giving my support to Trump but after the college debt issue and what he did to exploit people I had to take a look at myself.

The reason kids have crushing debt now, but didn't in the past is simple. You used to only be able to get $4,500 a year in a student loan. Now there seems to be no limit and students today use the loans to buy cars, pay insurance, pay rent, buy groceries, buy Xboxes, etc.

They are corporate slaves. Why are they a concern of us?

> the country is giving people the possibility to educate themselves on a subject they are interested in

Oh no what a disaster
No wonder americans are uneducated

either
>students pay their own debt with their parents's money
or
>state pays the student debts with the money it takes from the people

what's the difference?

>>take out student loan to get degree

Theeere it is!

Good thing those things were built to break.

Because they're constantly told they have to go too uni after high school. Instead of taking at least a gap year, joinning the military ffor some time or getting some sort of a simple job to wait and figure life out they are told over and over that they have to "go get a degree" at 19 or else their life will be terrible.

The parents arent helpful either, they grew up in the times where a university degree was actually prestigious and jobs were plenty. They don't understand how thing are now and their "wisdom" often makes things worse.

>Noone wants to work at some 5-people phone repair shop anways so fuck off

Oh, I know this all to well.

Everyone wants a job, but no one wants to work.

I can train someone who hasn't been indoctrinated to feel special.

I can teach them RF, and fresnel zones, and solar generated DC power systems.

But, I can't teach anything to some holier than thou cunt with a degree who expects to be paid $100k a year, not because he does that much work, but because he NEEDS that much to pay his school loan bill and his rent and his fast food expenses.

I run a business, not a charity for entitled cunts.

Bullshit, the real problem is that kids graduate, gems job and are like
>muh car
>muh apartment
>muh hanging with friends at bar/club
>muh clothes
>muh new pc

Faggots can't turn off entitlement for 2 years and just dedicate themselves to a strict budget.

Because its not "people" deciding to go and study, its children, and children make poor decisions, dont blame the children, blame the current parenting and teaching culture of "you can do anything" which stop the people who are responsible from giving children sound advice on what is actually realistic or obtainable.

fucks your credit. if you don;t ever want to own a home or take a loan out to start a business then its not a problem.

What's the alternative?

taking a government loan isnt bad. its just like you said people here major in useless fields that will never make them bank. Many degrees are less paying than trade jobs or hell even UPS/Fedex workers.

>college is the only solution

Millennials, everyone.

Stick with my pharmacy degree

>its children, and children make poor decisions, dont blame the children

kek.

You're only considered a 'teen' at 32 if you're a nigger.

Everyone else has to wear big boy pants.

>getting a meme degree

He asked a question, he didn't make a statement, are you retarded?

What is college debt ? :^)

>they get easy degrees
that don't get them ready for real life.

I worked part time to avoid more debt
paid off loans in 6 month of work :)

lot of people here are nerds or tech people. you kind of need college to get anywhere in fields that involve tech.

So the majority of kids wait 14 years before going to uni do they?

So what's the alternative?

Trades work you idiot, you know the work that the libs are giving away to illegal spics

>tfw 100% debt-free and making good money freelancing

Basically it's because people choose their college based off of where they think they'll have the most fun, then treat it like a four year vacation. I'm in my second year right now with no scholarships, but I'm not in debt because I work my ass off at two jobs. I'm not like my friends who went far away and send videos to people of them snorting Adderall for fun.

no he means in the US blacks are still in the teen mindset at that age. Go to any community college and its basically HIgh School 2.0 because the blacks make it that way. It doesnt have the feel of a transition from childhood to becoming an adult like a University has (which is getting inflicted in non STEM courses by the sjw bug making these students remain children who want free shit from Colonel Sanders). I personally dont like the idea of free college because it will mean all these blacks will fill colleges in worthless classes while STEM classes which are more expensive to operate get pushed out thus making it even more expensive to pay for a STEM degree because the availability of schools offering STEM goes down.

schools/parents/media all drill into kid's heads that if they don't go to college they are abnormal and probably a failure

>taking students loan to get degree

My friends at uni can live off the welfare they get for being poor enough to get it and part-time work. I work on vacations to pay for my flat and get the rest from my lower-middle-class parents, thinking about getting part-time job to not leech of them anymore.

Oh wait I live in 2nd world so I have free uni unlike 1st worlders, okay fine hmmm...

oh man 10$/hour to hammer nails for the rest of my life
Assuming l can find work with all the illegal immigrants getting criminally underpaid under the table
Bet l'll enjoy doing that til I'm 90 and dying in a shitty apartment

Because people are stupid. Seriously, our capitalist society is the ultimate retard check, especially when it comes to higher education. All that life asks you to do is ask yourself: "What do I want to do and is that in demand right now?" If you want to be an artist and you study to be an artist, don't be surprised when your art-degree ass doesn't make any money because - oh, what a shock! - nobody needs a person who can paint. But hey, we need doctors, software engineers and shit like that - maybe consider an actual relevant degree to the time we live in?

If you went into uni and are still in debt after 3 years you should kill yourself.

>getting degrees that make you happy instead of basing it on the current job market
You know I would really like to hire fresh american graduates for the healthcare company i work for the only problem is that most of the applicants are art or liberal majors and the ones that I do hire complain that $45 an hour is not enough

Wall Street fooled an entire generation again into thinking you need a 4 year degree at 40k per year from some backwoods liberal arts college when tradeskills can have you making money hand over fist.

Fooled an entire generation into taking out loans and lining their pockets with interest. Glad I only owed 5k when I graduated.

It's not the degree that costs that much, it's the retarded notion of moving halfway across the country for a "reputable" school, then paying room and board for 3 years or more without an income.

People are stupid and don't realize how much they're in debt until after the ride ends.

trades are gonna die man. AI and machines can replace alot of trade jobs. I think electricians and plumbers are the only safe bets. In construction cheap illegals already steal jobs which will soon be taken again by some robot in 20 years time (think iRobot movie wrecking robot that almost killed Will Smith)

socialism feels great sometimes

Because thanks to mass immigration, unskilled jobs pay peanuts.

If you want some money, you need education.
To get education, you must make an agreement with a bank.

Protip: don't major in African dance therapy and you will make it to taxpayer status.

>Have parents who were smart and set aside money for myself and my brother
>Dont have to get loans
>Graduate early, no debt
>Make 70k a year starting at 22, pay bills with ease, plus enough to stuff away in savings, plus enough to fuck around with and still have some 300 - 500 left over each pay period
Feels damn fuckin' good

you mean a mixed economy. No 1st world nation uses socialism. Only shitholes like Cuba or Best Korea do.

so you mean youre a spoiled little fuck?

I left college 40k in debt because I was a retard in high school that was too lazy to look for scholarships beyond what my school offered. To be honest I did apply to some but not enough to get the generic ones and as a music composition wannabe nothing worthwhile.

Fortunately I wised up, all but dropped music as a pursuit and went for a physics degree while self teaching myself some programming and now I'm employed as a software developer. I graduated in 2015 with 40k in debt which is now 30k. I also live by myself in an apartment and have both emergency and retirement savings set up.

I'm not worried at all. Student loan debt is easy if you're not an imbecile.

our state is still based on socialist principles, it's not socialism but you can feel where are the roots

>be me
>never have to take out student loan for undergrad because of half ride scholarship and work every weekend to pay the rest per semester
>end up being #1 graduate in my program that year
>get full ride for masters degree + a stipend per month
>literally getting paid and free school at the same time
>Just got accepted to an MBA program with the same deal stipend + free tuition

Literally don't even know what the big deal is. Universities throw money at me. And yes, I'm a FUCKING white male.

Doesn't mean he should be faulted for it unless he doesn't pay it forward to his kids.

so basically giving the credit of a market system to that of a communal system which makes Bernie Bros use as examples why socialism is so great n shiet.

>why do people still fall for this
you have to pay to play, my friend.

>while self teaching myself some programming
>now I'm employed as a software developer
so really, everything else, what extra steps that you didn't need to do & you wasted
*Time
*Money
*Other things
Neat

You have/had a work ethic that 90% of people in our generation don't develop until they're either almost out or out of school and forced to develop it. Typically arises from either having really good or really bad parents.

No, I mean my parents worked hard, and I did the same by graduating early and ensuring they had to pay for one less year of college.
I now live on my own, paying my own bills on my own merit and hard work.

>you kind of need college to get anywhere in fields that involve tech.

horseshit.

College tech courses are usually 2-4 years behind the real world.

Some research and graduate studies are a few years ahead, but good luck with that.

When I was young, I was stupid too.

My degree is in "Graphic Design". That paid the bills for a few years, but not for too long.

Since getting that degree, I've been an intern, an Art Director, a bouncer, a bartender, a Journeyman Electrician, a network engineer, a web programmer, a net admin, a nightclub manager, a "consultant", an Apprentice Electrician, and finally, the owner of a rural ISP.

In college I got drunk, fucked bitches, and had a blast for 4 years. 4 wasted years.

I got lucky and paid off my debt in less than 6 years.

It took almost 2 decades to recover from that bullshit.
I was an idiot.

I don't want your sympathy.
90% of the money I've made in my life has been doing work completely unrelated to my degree.

Find work that pays and learn how to do it.
If you really, really want to spend 4 years getting drunk and fucking sluts, move to a college town and do that while working a real job.

Earning $20k a year is better than paying $50k a year.

This describes it perfectly really.

You can't expect an 18 year old idiot to make an informed decision like this, in fact it's more like 16 years old because that's when you need to start thinking about what school you're going to.

When literally every single person in your life pushes you into making a bad decision it's fucking hard not to, my parents said I was either getting a degree or I'd have to move out, at 18, without any knowledge of the world beyond part time jobs and high school. Obviously I chose the school, and it was a massive fucking mistake, but how the fuck could I have known that at such an uninformed age?

You're making literal kids make these massive decisions that they should not be making at all. You're not even old enough to drink at 18 but you're apparently old enough to throw away $30,000, it's fucked up.

You think a dindu is going to get those scholarships? Lol

I don't cry for people who don't put in the work or time.

Shame though really. I just don't see how someone can justify taking out massive loans to study gender studies or something unless they were studying it at Harvard or Yale MAYBE.

>tfw your cousin graduated in engineering from UofI, got a job at GE, Ge paid him to attend Warton's and Boothe.

He has 4 white kids and lives the white dream.

I live in my Mom's house.

The issue is that degrees are absolutely worthless nowadays because previously college would be a mix of showing that you had dedication to sit through and pay for a degree to show you knew your shit, but nowadays you can learn everything a college can teach you outside a very select few things, from the internet. And experience is infinitely more valuable than a degree in practice.

I have a friend who did the same exact thing except without a degree. He makes less than half what I do.

Sad as it is, the degree, while ultimately a worthless piece of paper, is a signal to an employer that you're possibly mildly competent and not a complete retard.

I and he thought the same as you do until the real world hit and suddenly I was miles ahead of him because I "wasted" money on college. On top of the salary disparity, he only has his current job because he was lucky and knew someone in the company he was hired for. I just sent out a resume.

I saved up money from working in landscaping from age 14-17 and then a pizza place for 2 years. Paid for my entire college tuition myself as a full time student and part time employee. Anyone who can't do this is a retarded shit tier pleb who should just move to their North Korean utopia.

>he means in the US blacks are still in the teen mindset at that age

Close. Blacks never outgrow the teen mindset.

Liberals call niggers 'teens' no matter what age they really are.
'youths', 'aspiring rappers', and 'underprivileged' are also acceptable SJW terms for blacks.

Just don't ever refer to them as 'blacks' in public and you'll be fine.

Depending on the market the painter .. the painter will make 8 times more than any of your examples. Margins for fine arts are fucking ridiculous in the right arena/ city. And you don't even necessarily need a degree. I don't think you have a clue of what you are talking about.

Some people actually thing of that type of thing before they get a loan.

NOTE TO WANNABE STUDENTS ON THE FENCE:

While this man makes sense and this is how things SHOULD be nowadays, this is ABSOLUTELY NOT THE CASE. Do not very fucked over by tunnel vision because logically experience makes more sense to have than some 4 year baby sitting degree. Employers have yet to catch up with how auto didactic society can be now with the Internet and still place weighty, and I mean WEIGHTY emphasis on the college degree.

And no, unless you're going to ripoff sham school where you'll be coming out with 120k in debt, the salary disparity you will face with degree holders does NOT make up the difference.

I really don't see the big deal here.

Say you finish college. Shouldn't it be easy to get a job that pays like 50k or something? So save like 10k every year, it's super easy to comfortably live off 40k.
So, how high can student debt be? I guess at most it would be something like 60k. So after 6 years, all of it is gone and you're done. So what's the big problem?

Your skills will benefit more from a free 5 years of training than with a $200k master.

In, at least most of Europe, we don't have credit as you do in America.

In Sweden it's that you need to have paid all bills and loans so far on time, even if that number is zero, and you need to have a specific income and a specific amount of disposable income to be able to get a mortage. Any more just gives you more wiggle room to discuss the rate. For other loans it's usually looser.

You need to consider interest and the fact that the median salary in the USA is only 51k. Having debt the size of a year's salary is not good by any stretch of logic, regardless of what degree you get.

>median salary in the USA is only 51k
Fair point. Still, I'd hope the median salary for people holding college degrees would be higher than that.

Learn to think ahead.
Degrees have been handed out like Halloween candy for years now.
They mean shit, other than to corporations to big to adapt quickly.

(If you're a bright nigger, ignore this post and just get a gubment job. What the private market does in years will take the government decades to change.)

When even the barista at Starbucks has 2 masters degrees, that shit has jumped the fucking shark.

Don't skate to where the puck was, skate to where it's going.

>Don't skate to where the puck was, skate to where it's going.
The apocalypse?

You will never get 5 years of free training anywhere ...even via the internet you have to pay a bill.

Never finished high school because I was planning to kill myself anyways, never did it, never had a job, have no friends or bf, no car, debt from medical bills, credit dropping, kill me.

Tell that to the Harvard med school kids

And?
His statement still shows the deplorable mindset of millennials.

If you have to ask me, you're beyond hope.

*his question

>Still, I'd hope the median salary for people holding college degrees would be higher than that.

That's cute.
Too bad, you can't pay for rent and food with hope.
If you could, every stinky homeless vet would be a fucking millionaire.

Most college degrees handed out for the last decade are useless.
How many Women's Studies majors does an engineering firm really need?

No matter how enlightened, a civilization can only support a few million baristas with Masters Degrees in Diversity, and debt to match.

How is pic related disease called?

>The apocalypse?

It never hurts to know how to feed yourself when SHTF.

If you get a job where you can't pay up to $400 a month for your student loans, then you made an extremely poor investment. Seriously, even the starting salary in my field pays that off easily. Your liberal arts degree doesn't entitle you to shit.

>bf
If you are a woman, just suck some guy's dick and pump out some kids.
If you're gay, get a gun and start raping, robbing and killing niggers and mudslimes. Then at least you are doing the community a favor.

why not fake your degree?

seriously cunts, try it. i know someone who did it and it fucking worked, he knows how to do his job and they never really inquired more than one phonecall at the start.

You shouldn't be fucking making a median shit salary if you got a college education. If that's what you were aiming for then college was the wrong choice.

You're a fool if you think that attitude is going to change in less than another fifteen years.

The idiots that are going for degrees that don't pay back deserve the debt.

>You shouldn't be fucking making a median shit salary if you got a college education.

Should and Shouldn't are terrible words, user.

They both relate to the theoretical.
The real world is both more bland, and more unforgiving.

Be useful, or be hungry.

idk how people have debt. my school gave me a full ride for undergrad plus housing stipend just for being really smart. then phd gave me the same.

why go to school when you have to pay? doesn't make sense to me.

It's really bad for the entire economy to have so many people with so much unpayable debt you know, regardless of whether or not this is some divine justice for making a shit decision, it affects everyone negatively.

I got a liberal arts degree.
I couldnt get shit for a job.
I had to start my own business to be able to pay the debt off.
6 years after graduating I'm finally beginning to see some mediocre levels of financial success.

I could argue my education has helped me along the way. However the proof in the form of a diploma has never done a damn thing for me.

It's called an investment. It's just some people don't understand that a college degree doesn't automatically mean big money, you have to both care about your education AND choose a field that's actually worth a shit. I came out of college with $32000 in debt, but aside from seeing the automatic deduction from my bank account every month I literally never think about it because my investment paid off well enough that I don't care.

>my rich college professor told me this was capitalisms fault
wtf I hate America now

>You're a fool if you think that attitude is going to change in less than another fifteen years.

You're the fool if you think it hasn't already changed.

Sure, newly minted graduates and people still getting their degree think otherwise, but they're not the ones hiring, are they?

> 26 years old
> No college
> computer security researcher
> $165k/yr + stock + 10% yearly bonus
> got job in Silicon Valley, switched to remote, now make a giant California salary in cheap-as-fuck Colorado

Teach yourself motherfucker. There's plenty of resources out there.

The funny thing is it's literally socialism's fault, at least in Canada.
>everyone ought to go to school and get educated because everyone is equal
>take this government loan with massive interest goyim, it's your only choice unless you want to starve to death working 60 hours a week double-shift McDonalds and Burger King back to back for your entire life

What are some schools that don't teach SJW bullshit? Because the vast majority of "good" schools with high reputations do now.

bcuz their dumb n desrve ti

>I got a liberal arts degree.

Translation: I took on a fuckton of debt to get shitfaced and fuck for four years.

>I couldnt get shit for a job.
>I had to start my own business to be able to pay the debt off.
>6 years after graduating I'm finally beginning to see some mediocre levels of financial success.

Bravo. You saw through the bullshit even though it hurt like a motherfucker.

And, it did hurt like a motherfucker, didn't it?

I like you, user. You can come to my house and fuck my sister.

How harsh are the american student loans?
In Sweden for example, you get about 1200 euros a month by taking a loan
You don't need to start paying it back until about 4 years after graduating and even then the interest rate is around 0.6%
But you get put in debt pretty hard, i'm around 13,000 euros in debt just by studying 1 year

Most basic to semi-advanced networking or security tasks can be taught yourself if you get a hold of like, CBT Nuggets on Cisco material. Teaching you everything you need for different certificates. Pretty easy to learn new technologies if you've got the time too.

There's a few out there that have spoken out against the PC culture bullshit. I know just recently the University of Chicago came out strong against it.

nytimes.com/2016/08/27/us/university-of-chicago-strikes-back-against-campus-political-correctness.html?_r=0

4.6%

4 month grace period, typically

>government loan
>capitalism
It really is amazing how many people unironically believe this.

Networking and "IT" is over saturated. Security research is not. Learn shit like reverse engineering, systems-level development, data science (with just an elementary level knowledge of security issues), etc and you will get hired immediately.

Of course the University of Chicago would considering it is located in Chicago. Anyways I went to UT and they didn't have too much SJW bullshit though I heard they ramped it up over time.

ehh, 30k to 40k ain't that hard to pay off. It is like buying a new car. It just takes time. Refinance when you can for better rates on interest. shoot for 7% or lower. When you take out loans, take out fixed rates cuz variables may be going up soon.

live cheaply and get married for dual income. It will all work out.

ALSO MALWARE ANALYSIS

Fed loans were 6 months for me.

SERBIA STRONK!

Seriously though, good job. Does the school system work the same in Serbia as it does in the US or is it free like in other European countries?

>This has been common knowledge for a very long time now, so why do people still fall for this?

Marxist brainwashing and because it's an avoidance mechanism for manchildren and whores to avoid getting actual jobs.

Of course if you are a really good painter you'll find plenty of work but if you're just some random schmo with an art degree that's mediocre then no. It really depends on how good you are really, though if you have a passion for art I think CAD and animation is a better choice since it's more consistent.

Why are you such an obstreperous cunt?
>Really stimulates your synapses

Pharmacy degree. And then save like a Jew and invest all your profits.

>What are some schools that don't teach SJW bullshit? Because the vast majority of "good" schools with high reputations do now.

Fuck school. Seriously.

Learn how to do something that needs doing.

Even $10 an hour is better than -$60 an hour.

Again, if you want the 'college experience', move to a college town, get an apartment near campus, get shitfaced 6 times a week and fuck college chicks.

Even getting a shitty job as a flagman on highway construction ($10-16 an hour, last I knew) takes no skills other than the ability to show up on time and stand in one spot for 12 hours while turning a sign from 'Slow' to 'Stop' when the radio tells you to.

While you're standing there sweating and bored as fuck, think of something you won't hate forever and learn how to do that during the few hours a week you're sober and not working.

The BEST employee I ever found was a high school kid who could only work evenings and weekends. I gave him a raise to $20 an hour after the first month. He was good. Eager. Wanted to work and learn. I raised his pay to $30 an hour after the 3rd month.
He quit after 4 months, to go to college for "business".

Saw him again last month. Now, he works as a barista for $8 an hour.

>Do art Design degree course at uni
>People whine it's useless
>Get shitfaced, pass with honours because it's fucking drawing
>draw porn for mad bux
>if I need anything expensive I just draw some Gay furry shit for some autist for like $200 dollars and it takes me like 6 hours at most.

Why is making money off of autists so fuck, I should start a Pateron.

>be GED student
>in top 3% for GED scores nationwide
>Get free money from government for having said score (would have been higher but hadn't done any basic geometry in 6 yrs)
>go to some state uni and pay less than 600 a semester
> Transition from NEET-lyfe to student, still living with parents
>Major in International business by using random number generator to pick my major from a list
>take Mandarin as a second language
>Do a year in a Chinese university to actually become functional in mandarin
>pass HSK 4
>Intern in HK
>Graduate with no debnts
>Get offer to do Grad school in a top 20 school in mainland china with monthly stipend
>Living out of hotel; cleaning lady steals my cups

Fucking Chine

No. There are plans for income based repayment that are forgiven after a certain number of payments.

>trying to make it sound like his art degree is relevant

Damn, what a waste of good potential. Anyways I did take computer science and a bunch of math classes in college but I also worked a job on the side and got a half-ride paid scholarship. Luckily my degree actually came in handy because I work in IT now, but I think it's pretty fucking stupid how so many fuckers get rid of so many good job opportunities to get a useless college degree.

I fell for the lie. (((People))) pushed it hard and I bit. I wish I had gotten into a trade sooner.

Recently made a post on my former schools circle jerk page where people in that specific program come to shoot the shit and.pat each other on the back. I posted that most post secondary is bullshit.

You should have seen the butt hurt. Everyone assuming I was unemployed (I'm self employed) and didn't find a job because I didn't work hard enough. I guarantee you the vast majority of those faggots wouldn't do half the shit that I've done and they sit there typing about how it's my fault I'm unemployed...

All I really stated was post secondary school is overrated and a waste of money for the majority of programs. Why did they get so butt hurt about my opinion?

A former prof shit me an e mail asking me to delete my posts because 2 other new students saw it and we're considering dropping out/switching programs/schools.

I asked him why he has a problem with students questioning what they want to do? He never responded.

Tbh, I think you can take such huge loans if you are willing to save money elsewhere. When I got my Master's degree I was around 40k in debt, but I didn't buy a car or shit like that while most people my age spent an amount like that on those. There is good public transportation in Europe after all.

Plus, get some backup plans. I got my degree in history and knew that it'd be hard to get a job in that field, so I went to trade school before uni to become an IT systems electronician and during uni I've attended free language courses and got a B2 certificate in both English and French, so that I could also work in the translation business.

This.
I'm taking a semester off to get some money together, so I can finish my degree without taking out more loans. I'm working as a mover. I get 11/hour plus tips and life is far more enjoyable than school was, even though the hours can be long (you go home when the job is done). I go to work, I laugh with a bunch of bros and deal with the autism of customers, but I'm free. I don't sit at a desk (I worked a summer at a MAJOR insurance company) and I don't gain weight just by being on the job. Hard work is all benefits, anything bad about it is simply one having the wrong attitude. Careful around refrigerators, though.

How's chinkland like? I haven't been there yet.

I found that the money is where most artists will not go morally.

Working for a firearms company is amazing

But hey at least a few for-profit shitboxes like ITT are no longer able to exploit this.

So you design guns? Sounds pretty cool actually.

The should start basing loan acceptance on degrees (ie. the likelihood that you'll be able to pay them back). That should decrease the number of worthless SJWs with gender studies degrees.

>Damn, what a waste of good potential.

Don't I know it. I gave him a raise to $30 because I could see his possible ability. It wasn't a loss for me, I broke even.

I've hired cunts with more experience and degrees since, yet no one has matched his work ethic.

No crying over spilt milk, though.
I hope he makes a fortune and starts his own business someday.

it's just a bit sad that I already know he won't break even until he's almost my age, because of "interest-free college debt".

Feels good knowing that my law degree in this country's best private University along with internship and all that shit will only cost me 14k in total

China is trying hard to modernize and be like the west but their inability to not cut corners on everything really does hurt them. Not to mention the whole legal climate is shite for foreign businesses.

As a murrifat I'm pretty happy here. The pollution sucks dick, especially during the winter when it turns orange and it's like walking around on Arrakis during a sandstorm except with a worse smell. For the most part, you can find almost everything you would want to live your western lifestyle in major cities. The city I currently reside in even has a Wal-Mart. I haven't seen a McDonald's since I got here though, and I'm going to need burger eventually...

One weird tidbit about Mainlander culture is they seem to have this weird fascination with (((Greatest Ally))). In the eyes of a chinaman, Jews have something special that makes them worth inserting into all their media. It reminds me of home, in a way.

Some people go to schools they can afford and major in fields that are useful. It's not that complicated.

I wish

I'm currently working on revamping the company's branding.

>(((They))) should start basing loan acceptance on degrees (ie. the likelihood that you'll be able to pay them back).

(((They))) always get their money, one way or another.

[citation fucking needed]

You have not had burger in a long time? How do you survive? Americans must have regular burger to maintain healthy. I need sushi same.

>One weird tidbit about Mainlander culture is they seem to have this weird fascination with (((Greatest Ally))). In the eyes of a chinaman, Jews have something special that makes them worth inserting into all their media. It reminds me of home, in a way.

Kek, I imagine a Jew going up to a chinese businessman going "How many layers of deception have you got?" and the chinaman goes "idk 5 or 6 maybe" and the jew says "You are like a little baby, watch this." (((6 million goy)))

There's a good answer for that, Proxy-kun. The local takeout place has some top shelf chicken tendies. It's keeping me placated until the burger fever starts and I have to make the pilgrimage to McDonald's or face death.

There are no burger joints in China?

without these morons enslaving themselves, who else is going to serve you fast food once the wall is built?

>This fucking cartoon

>hurr I signed the paperwork to receive loan money and now that I have to pay it back it's someone else's fault

nice samefag retard

fuck off CTR shill

Hi, you don't know shit about software development. While the courses may be a few years the latest trends, the fundamentals of writing good code are pretty well established and transfer between languages, platforms etc.

I'd rather have a person alien to a language but with a solid foundation in programing the somebody that 'kniws' a language but writes shit code. If wanted shit code I would outsource to India.

spotted the bluepilled

Thank god I studied finance/stats

You're not paying for a degree or to get a job.

These days you're paying for indoctination and an indoctrination certificate that tells potential employers "This guy won't offend anyone, YAAAAAAY!, except men but who cares about them..."

Companies however, are smart enough to see through that;
First of all, huge market of potential employees compared to actual jobs there are, companies can go with whoever is cheapest, and someone looking to pay off extortionate debt is not cheap.
Secondly, brainwashed SJW man-hates will drive men away from the business.
Lastly, if I ran a law firm, do you think I'd hire anyone who studied at one of the many, many colleges that have denied due process to students? A bad example has been set and I can't trust their education regarding law.

Higher education is fucked, has fucked a generation of new employees up and businesses know this.
College graduates are now a huge risk in business.

So why do people still fall for it?
Simple, they've been told to.
Same answer for everything;
>Why do people still get married despite divorce courts raping men?
Been told to.
>Why do kids buy expensive ass cars who's insurance will rape them?
Been told you. It's cool.

Dead fish going with the flow, taught not to ever say "no". There is profit in complacency.

Everbody thinks that they need to go to college to get a good job. All it end up doing is making the few STEM jobs there are even more scarce.
This is a double edged sword because these lazy niggers will sit for years and years wait8ng and applying instead of getting a different job because they think its beneath them.

This is a manufactured crisis, Governemnt makes the laws, Colleges make the money, Goverment takes care of the ones who arent employed.

I graduated college in May with 40k in debt. I have a vested interest in Hillary winning the election because she, and Democrats as a whole, are looking out to help students!
hillaryclinton.com/issues/college/

Should have been a carpenter , that's what Jesus did.

>you don't know shit about software development. While the courses may be a few years the latest trends, the fundamentals of writing good code are pretty well established and transfer between languages, platforms etc.

And, it's impossible to learn those things without going $200,000 into debt and getting drunk for 4 years.

You poor, dumb bastard.

5 people ... Lol id like to see those weak ass profits you are bringing in quarter. And cutting your neighbors grass with your emigos isn't a business

>Paying for higher speed education

Lel we get it for free

>I graduated college in May with 40k in debt.

>I'm a student.

>I graduated
>I'm a student

Yep. Those 4 years were totally worth it, maaaaaan.
You couldn't have gotten anywhere near that high without a loan.

Cunt.

Because I graduated with 27k debt and I'm making 75k per year 1 year out of college. My loans are nearly paid off.

>good business requires inflation

They tell you that if you don't want to be a loser that you need to get a college education. Then the parents sell you out by letting you sign up for the loan that they didn't read. Then later, surprise! gape the hole. It's sick because 18 year olds shouldn't be allowed to be making this dangerous choice without fully understanding what is going on besides FREE SHIT. Most of my friends had no idea that you have to pay it back. Most dropped out.

I had 20k in student loans, but I got a degree I can actually use to get a stable job. With a good budget and living within my means I'm paying it off no problem.

The only people who have issues are stupid people who get worthless meme degrees like women's studies or psychology and obviously can't get jobs after graduation so they were better off not going to school anyway.

>mfw when my Jewish uncle completely covered my undergrad tutuion

GOD BLESS Bob Bier!

>emigos

t. gordon gekko

I'm currently 26k in debt and I'm making 40k out of school. I do admin type and budget stuff for a clinical trial company.

Did I fuck up Cred Forums?

>Take out student load to get a degree
>Proceed to obtain a useless Social Studies or Art degree
>Cry about how I can't find a job or that the job doesn't pay well

Your loss.

>Most of my friends had no idea that you have to pay it back.

>took a loan
>no idea that you have to pay it back

Holy fucking shit.
Millennials are more retarded than I ever imagined.

Where is the edited version of this?

Fuck you. Everywhere I have worked as an engineer the production workers with a few years experience make between $20-35 per hour plus overtime pay. Stop making excuses for being a failure.

Not too badly.

Can confirm. Electrician here. Made 112k last year working nights in california. Zero college debt

>being too stupid to get scholarships
>choosing a pitiful degree

This is what happens when you let everyone into college.

>being too stupid to get scholarships

same reason why people take mortgages in 2016

I have a friend who is hundreds of thousands in debt because he's in medical school.

He's almost finished and has gotten offers for jobs starting at a salary in the hundreds of thousands.

The problem isn't that people are going to school and then can't find a job, the problem is that people are going to school for shit that is worthless. Following your dreams is shit advice and people are stupid for not doing some basic research before devoting 4+ years of your life to getting.

Look at the job outlook on what you want to go to school for. If it's shit, go to school for something else.

average iq for an average person is about 100
