Some study came out in WaPo yesterday, full thing isn't published yet and I forget which institution it was tied to, but anyway 50% of guns in the US are owned by 3% of the population (at about 17 guns/person in that group). This group is also disproportionately better trained with their weapons. The other 50% of guns are in "single-gun households" at about 20% of the population. This group is primarily hand-gun owners and also disproportionately irresponsible and untrained with their weapons. Of the latter group, when asked if they train with or shoot their weapons regularly, something like 90%+ said no. The main reason that group sited for owning a gun was personal protection.

So about half the gun owners in the country are scared cucks with a pea shooter in their closet they have no idea how to use.
