Not every dollar of his net worth is tied up in assets, he had the liquidity to handle this like an adult. It doesn't matter that the money went to a charity if the donation was a settlement reached in court to avoid a heavier fine levied at Trump.

it matters entirely, he probably has a special account for every charity he donates to and this is it. when he writes checks to charity he probably just uses this account for it. to separate from actual business transactions. it makes perfect sense and the circumstances are completely invalid. he settled, he's not paying the city he's paying charities as part of the settlement

It's a registered Charitable foundation not his personal bank account. It's against IRS law to use those funds to pay for your own court settlements. It's pretty black and white my dude. I'm not saying don't vote for him over this but let's not be silly.
