Courts have ruled that students have a number of rights to freedom of speech/expression like wearing armbands and whatnot, but at the same time schools can enforce strict dress codes that ban them. Meanwhile, this guy is an employee of the school following school ethics and appearance guidelines.

forgot to add, that protection shouldn't and doesn't extend to the classroom. I can shout "nigger" in public and face no legal actions but if I did so in the classroom I would rightfully be fired. Why? The classroom and school aren't the court of law.
