The F-35 isn't a fighter it's a flying targeting platform. It locates targets and has missiles launched from a different location eliminate the target. Practice missions have had the F-35 taking down 20+ other planes without having the enemies even locate it

I dont know if you completely ignorant about air warfare but there will be a lot of situations where enemy gets close to the stealth fighter and you will have to dogfight. You cannot control everything in the battlefield so the enemy can surprise you in many ways.

And Su-35 seem to be a plane better for a defending country's use - but that's not an argument though, because Norway could never have got to buy the Su-35 as a NATO-member. Also we not a defending country anymore.

One of the key points that confuses a lot of people is how the media reports the price of military acquisitions.

If they want to make it sound expensive, then they add on R&D costs, maintenance costs and basically tell you how much each plane will cost from start to end of life. Unfortunately most people understand that on the level of buying a car so they think we'll pay 240 million when we buy the plane.

On the other side, hawkish politicians and businesses trying to avoid getting defense contracts cancelled will do the opposite. They've done this with the F35 which is why the projected cost on wikipedia came down so much,..when they say the "plane will cost 85 million" that's EXCLUDING THE ENGINE. Which in my opinion is a pretty fucking important and expensive part of a fighter aircraft.
