I personally am for it so long as it is used on lesser beings: animals and plants, with most being made nonreproductive as not to taint or destroy the native life. With how slippery the slope always is as well as the consequences of a fall would be, I would completely be against anything used on any possible human life. If we need to stop diseases or control genetic traits in human being, the old fashion way of eugenics should be used. Cull the weak, and breed for the healthly, smart, strong, talented, civil, and genetically unique.

But actually tainting the native life has some interesting possibilities.
For example a mosquito that is immune to malaria and the immunity gene is dominant. So we release a large number of these guys in nature and after a few generations BOOM malaria no longer has a carrier and dies out. The gene itself does not effect the mosquito in any other way so why not do it ?

It's going to happen, but I am against it, just because it's the kind of thing where it's impossible to determine outcome after a few generations, and once we start (which we will) it will be impossible to quit.
I just think of that Russian project where they have been domesticating foxes, and how we have been selectively breeding dogs forever. In Foxes, the trait (timidity) we desired turned out to be linked to other traits we didn't notice untIl a few generations in, like color. With dogs, we breed them for the physical traits we like, but the end up with breeds like Yorkies, pugs, and Bulldogs, who are prone to respitory problems, and German shepard's, prone to tumors, Labradors, prone to hip problems, etc.

We are playing with shit we can't fully control, which is pretty standard for humanity, but I don't want to fuck with the life of another human being like that. It's too much responsibility

But the environment has been engineered because of (((Reasons))) to select for genes that make humans better slaves.

Natural selection doesn't give you genes that are "Superior", it gives you genes that are better adapted to your environment.

And if your environment rewards blind obedience, that is what evolution selects for.
