reporting/karma gives the same problem. An opinion doesn't have to be popular to be worth expressing (there's usually an inverse correlation, I'd argue). For example, under your system, 500 hillary supporters could report a thread denouncing her for whatever stupidity she's done recently. That's censorship, jimbo.
