Honestly, Im probably reaching for 10, although some of my beliefs may differentiate from the authors. I believe though, that self reflective and internally criticized belief is far more important than echoing the opinion of Cred Forums in absolutely every aspect of your life.

As far as backing up such a lofty claim, I train 6 or 7 days a week at a semi-competitive level and my free time is spent working in my field or studying. My favourite subjects at the moment are core mathematics (I'm working on head solving intermediate problems as reflexively as possible) and improving my writing syntax. (I'm working through the AP stylebook at the moment.) I do not drink to excess, (I do though, collect wine) smoke or partake of any drugs. Additionally I do not eat and form of processed or packaged food. My only current vice is overuse of the internet, mostly Cred Forums and /lit/. I also drink coffee, largely out of appreciation of the craft, pic related

The way it works over here is this

The way it works here, is that you are only certified in the state in which you pass your bar exam. To be certified in another state, you must take their exam, and be admitted to the bar in that state as well. So there is a huge variance between states on how many lawyers there are.

Obviously, in DC, there's a ton of lawyers, but even in my state - Virginia - there's not a ton. Sure, it may sound practical to move to Arkansas, but Arkansas is also almost 16% black, and directly borders Mississippi, which is about 34% black. Not exactly the kind of place I want to be a lawyer. I am considering moving after I get my BA though, because I'm not sure I want to stay here. I'd rather be somewhere in the midwest for a lot of reasons, but mostly because of the landscape.

Yeah you're right my degree is shit, I would love to go into law 2bh (my parents are both lawyers) but that costs money to get a law degree and I don't have that sort of money

How it works over here is most people do their bachelors (3 year) degree in law, either a BA or an LLB (I think they both qualify just the same). If you do that, then you do the LPC (legal practice course) for a year, and now you can get a training contract with a firm (paid job for two years). Only once you've completed the training contract are you a qualified solicitor.

If you're like me and you haven't done a law degree, the process is the same EXCEPT you have to do a GDL (graduate diploma in law) before the LPC. Which is 1 year full time, or two years part-time.

So basically if I wanted to become a lawyer I'd have to pay for both the GDL and the LPC, both taking a year each if I did them full-time. And they're expensive courses.

Maybe I will in the future if I inherit some money, we'll see.

Wow, your process is a lot more complicated, but does seem to set you up with a foot in the door to law firms.

Over here, you might be able to get some kind of internship while you're getting your degree, but the only things you have to do to become a 'lawyer' are go to school, and pass tests. That said, very difficult tests, but still, you don't actually end up in a courtroom defending someone unless you take the initiative to do so.

But yeah, it's a big country, and that means that different regions have different requirements, and different people, so in some places, it'd be damn near impossible to get a job, while in others, they'd be begging you to come there and work. The way I figure it is, I can go somewhere that's easy to get a job, and then move up to somewhere that's more difficult after I have years of experience under my belt. I'm also not sure where this country's going in the next 8 years (how long it will take me to completely become a lawyer - I'm only in my first semester of college now) so if something goes horribly wrong, I don't have to do any of this shit, and I can just go kill ragheads or chinks in our next war, which is inevitable. On the bright side, we'll probably have Trump as president for the next 8 years, so my taxes will be almost nonexistent since I have no income as it currently stands. If he's actually able to get his tax plan through congress, I won't even pay income tax.
