Well, all of my family was in the Waffen-SS (1. SS-Div "LAH", 6. SS-Div "Nord", 17. SS-Div "Götz von Berlichingen" and 24. SS-Div "Karstjäger" and one in the Ahnenerbe (even has his own wikipedia page so keeping low)
So i have countless of items of my family but i also collect items not belonging to my family, especially photo albums because i think it's sad when Americans stole them from german homes but also just as sad when german degenerates sell the photo albums of their family.

That's really cool. My grandfather served in the US Army during the war but he was in Pacific Theater against the Japanese. Yes, i am but also my family members who are still alive who served are actually glad that there is such a huge collecting community of WW2 items who take care and value these items.

It's not rare that descendants like you don't have much from their grandfather or other family members.
When you have people in your family who were scrutinized after the war and had to hold veteran meetings etc. very privately, you grow up obsessed to keep everything possible, especially if your family was axis or as that one family member of mine who was part of the Ahnenerbe, considered a war criminal by todays standards despite not having killed anyone nor made a decision to kill anyone.
Luckily families like mine have the law behind us, so everything inherited inside the family is protected, no matter what it is nor by whom it was.

I have an authentic Wehrmacht bayonet in pristine condition. When the German army retreated at the end of the war, it was left in a personal belongings crate of an administrative officer that was housed in my grandfather's house. It's a very cool item and of incredible quality. The blade is deep black (perhaps because of carbon ardening?) and it's still unsharpened. I don't know if that's intentional with bayonets or this one is just that new and unused. The handle and scabbard both feature small stamps with the part number I guess with a very small Reichsadler on top. At 40cm it's also quite long, much longer than you would expect for something to attach at the end of a rifle.

I also still have the crate btw. It's equally incredibly well and precisely made and has 2 peculiar mechanical locks which you have to press to open it.

They even gave the slavic areas of Poland back to Poland in the Generale Gouvernement.
