When an officer hits the button to start recording, it goes back thirty seconds and saves that video, but there's no audio recorded during that standby mode period, only video. I don't doubt that this was done to save officer asses, so they can feel comfortable shooting the shit and laughing about dead bodies or retarded suspects or whatever and then hit the record button and know they're in business mode. It protects the city from untold liability because they have to realize by now that humans are gonna human.

Should the officer's have been recording the whole time anyway because they were in an operation? Maybe. But I don't think they doctored the audio, they just chose to release the one officer's video that only caught the shooting.
