College is useless. I was a college student until I pursued more worthwhile things. Its basically a coddling indoctrination center with very loose real education, yet simultaneously is an inefficient and impractical method of vocational training. The only beneficiaries are the tenured professors and administrators.

In order to be a super power, you must place industrial, military and economic might above all else. This is how you become "relevant". However, as we know, it is just as easy to be comfy.

In order to reach super power status, you require a large population, physical resources, the ability and expertise to transform those resources and the will to use them to secure power.

Many nations can do that, most fall into great power status... The others, typically those that lack the demographics, end up being comfy middle powers... Maybe even regional powers... Because they either don't possess the resources or will to take the next step or they just don't care and focus on quality of life instead.

The BRICS nations were lined up to be the next super powers. They're all regional powers to be sure, some are even great powers... China is considered a super power already... And they all have one thing in common, poor HDI and crushing poverty.

Starvation in this country is a bad choice single mothers make when they get pregnant a lot and can't afford their own children. They do get welfare but they have so many kids that it gets to the point that free lunches and welfare money is not enough. Then there are the men who make bad choices themselves who become criminals and drug users. They starve because of their bad choices as well. Starvation in the sense of famines don't exist in this country. Poor people in this country are the 2nd fattest people on earth. Homelessness is also a choice here as well. Most people that no longer want to be homeless get out of homelessness.
