Urbanites are completely baffled, as a rule, over the notion of gun ownership. When you grew up in NYC where its impossible to point a firearm in any direction without aiming through another human being (including straight up and down) the notion of a gun sounds inherently dangerous. Meanwhile the rural gun-owners who can fire a gun in any direction and have no change of the bullet even exiting their 80-acre backyard has a completely different viewpoint. Rural people who have a very real issue with keeping snakes, bears, and wolves off their property see things completely different from an urbanite whose only experience with wildlife is from caged animals at a zoo.

Other issues like, fair trade agreements. You can't really outsource newspaper or blog jobs to India, but you can if you work at a factory. The media is all for cheaper imports but the blue collar sees things a bit differently.

I honestly do not think there is a liberal bias in the media. But there *is* a strong urban bias that they are largely unaware even exists within themselves, combined with a strong sensationalist bias for selling ads/clicks.
