southern states are famously based.
Apparently I'm supposed to feel ashamed that my ancestors had slaves or something, but I don't pay much attention to the noise
I've been to your country (Oporto-Coimbra-Lisboa) enjoyed it very much. Amazing history, just recently I read about the bridge disaster in Porto, fascinating. Portuguese baroque seems like best baroque architecture in my book, also wonderful language, beautiful women. Are there any problems in Portugal? How is the migrant situation?

that's far from the most glorious thing in Czechia, in my opinion...

Prague is fuckingly overcrowded, overcounted and too cliché.
Migrants dont really want to come here because we're poor. Economy is shit and the second bailout will be coming soon. That's our main problem, which comes with its own advantages, paradoxically. Only rich dutch and english people want to come live here, not migrants. Can confirm about women. Here, have some baroque. A 14 km acqueduct that still runs through Lisbon

One of the cities in NZ has quite a few nice churches because there was a lot of competition between denominations over who could build the nicest church. It might not seem like much to some folk, but it sure means a lot to us.

Nah must suck, pretty much all of Denmarks Medieval castles have been altered beyond recognition or dismantled though :(... Denmark lacked stones throughout history so we were very quick to tear something down if its usefullness seized so we could use the stone elsewhere.

Because when you are using a building you want the inside to feel like the inside
Somehow this kind of architecture looks even better in a warm tropical climate. The contrast with its surroundings makes it look like a supernatural icicle, or a piece of the moo, or the entrance to a labyrinth of limestone caves.

I always felt America reached its pinnicale during the gilded age and then sort of tapered off into the nigger run joke it is today. We did not have ancient castles or monuments but for a brief time there between 1870 and 1915 we made up for it with opulent Baroque and Rococo revival architecture and Gothic cathedrals. Sad to look at this place today. The niggers want to tear down monuments in New Orleans. They tried tearing down the statue of Jackson Saturday. They actually showed up with hooks and rope with the full intent of destroying it. Why is it niggers seem incapable or working or building anything but when the time comes to destroy oh man do they get a rush of ambition and energy.

At my university, they built the architecture building with a similar concept (like an inside-out building) a long time ago. It looks much better than your shitshow, but they had an embarrassingly large amount of design issues, considering it's the building where you learn how to make buildings.

Honestly, I really do not like modern Russian churches. It's architectural style parasite and distorts the true Russian traditional architectural style. The appearance of modern churches is an evil parody of our national architecture. Terrible, that people in the modern world will associate our national culture with this clowning, but not with genuine creation of our nation. Same with costume.

>Ålesund
Cool, I didn't knew that. And they're still shitting on good ol' Willy :(
In the night of 23 January 1904, the town was the scene of the Ålesund Fire, one of the most terrible of the many conflagrations to which Norwegian towns, once built largely of wood, have been subjected. Practically the entire town was destroyed during the night, a gale aiding the flames, and the population had to leave the town in the middle of the night with only a few minutes' notice. Only one person died in the fire, the 76-year-old Ane Heen, but more than 10,000 people were left without shelter.[7]
>Kaiser Wilhelm of Germany had often been on vacation to Sunnmore. After the fire, he sent four warships with materials to build temporary shelters and barracks. After a period of planning, the town was rebuilt in stone, brick, and mortar in Jugendstil (Art Nouveau), the architectural style of the time. The structures were designed by approximately 20 master builders and 30 Norwegian architects, most of them educated in Trondheim and Charlottenburg, Berlin, drawing inspiration from all over Europe. To honor Wilhelm, one of the most frequented streets of the town is named after him.
That's ugly and, and you can see it from everywhere in Rome. Of all the beautiful buildings in your city, the vast swathes of churches you chose this?
Yep. After it was built, they had to design patches to problems such as:
>Birds nesting in the ductwork, which they ran down outside hallways
>Cracking in some of the outside (non-weight-bearing) concrete walls because the architect can't into expansion joints
>Frequent flooding in the courtyard because a building built in Florida didn't factor in the fact that it might rain

To tell you the truth user, I have no idea. Used to know because of school field trips but it slipped my mind, it's not some grand monument, it's just both beautiful and bizarre.
