All a guy who can't buy has to do is steal or get his girlfriend to buy him a gun. I would rather this not be done when there are anti-drug laws in place, but this is the only active police work that can catch a criminal in the act. If a felon has a gun tucked in his waistband, I have no problem with them stopping him to take it away, and him to jail. Police may frisk someone they gave stopped to question due to a reasonable suspicion of a crime, if they also suspect, based on articulable facts that the person is presently armed and dangerous. Was upheld by scotus in Terry v Ohio this century to not violate 4th ammendment.

Stop and Frisk objectively works to bring order to a city. The problem with stop and frisk was that it went along with police Quotas and because it was done primarily in the poor neighborhoods around the public housing complexes (where all crime originates from in NYC).

Stop and Frisk is a valid tactic.
