The reason why Trump one was because of the Media. The Media wanted Hillary to win so they shilled hard for the candidate that was easily to beat (Trump). If you don't see Hillary's power play and only see memes and 'muh maga' you don't deserve to be in Cred Forums or even to vote.

They have picked Trump. The most unlikely because he is a leader. It is so funny, the irony is just overwhelming that the sons and daughters of all those 60's leftist hippies are falling for a lying, toltoltarian, product of the Military Industrial Complex.
The irony is just stunning.

I thought about it. But something about him told me no. I had a bad feeling in my gut. When Trump came along late in the game, for me it was decided. And I knew that there was nothing that the Clinton machine would not say or do to destroy him. So he's the man a god help him. Because I decided on day one of the Trump election bid I have turned off the TV. I have not watched any TV since the Trumps Election bid started. I didn't watch the debate last night. There was no reason for me to. I have decided and I am a man of my convictions. Everything I have heard about Trump and his leadership style has bolstered that decision.
I have been trying to redpill all the Hilary supporters around me but they are to firmly entrenched in the MSM propaganda. There minds are closed. They cannot see the whirlwind coming for their blinders. The destruction of the economy, the importing of jihad, the destruction of wages due to the mass importation of illegal labor from south of the border. Everything they hold dear will be destroyed by a Hilary presidency and they cannot see it coming.

Cruz would have owned her in the debate, just like Romney did to Obama and fucking lost anyway because he's not Trump. Cruz would've never led to such a large cultural change in regard to trade and immigration as Trump did, too much of a typical smarmy, non-populist politician.

It's bizarre how the opposite view is so prevalent with Trump supporters. Even with the core argument, that they prefer Hillary and would like to see for her the easiest road to her election, unchallenged. Even with fresh evidence of how much media attention Trump received above his pay grade. Even with the evidence of how much better most of Trump's competitors always performed against Hillary. This combination of facts will simply not penetrate against the meme that, hurr the media is 'ginst us and 'ginst Trump. Cruz did worse in the north-eastern states than Kasich. So I don't think that had such a major impact since Cruz got more media coverage than food-man. Yes, he is not considered a natural born citizen because he was not born on US soil. If he had been born in America, in a territory, or on a military base and to two American parents he would be eligible (at least according to the 18th century view, today and even when he was born he would need only one American parent). The technicality Cruz pursued was a law passed (IIRC a bit before or after the turn of the 19th century) that would have him considered as a natural born US citizen but that law was only temporarily able to grant citizenship, after the period in which a person could be considered a natural born citizen under that law expired, the law had already served its purpos and Cruz missed the boat by over a century and a half.

Let's dispel with this notion that Cruz would've won the primary against Jeb and Rubio without Trump's help. Cruz would not have survived the rnc. To win an election stacked against you in terms of demographics, you need bluster like Trump. Regular conservatism is already dead and will never win an election again - too many minorities for that. Rather than appealing with policy - which Trump has never done beyond the vaguest of statements, promises and demands - the only remaining way to get a non-Democratic president into the office is to mobilize nonvoters and those just fed up with the establishment.
Cruz would have lost 40-60, rallying all of the conservative remains behind him and nobody else.

>Religious right zealots have a very hard time winning. Teds base is smaller than Trump. Working class voters would care for him less.
>Would have the same electoral disadvantage Trump has but with less popularity so less chance of winning swing states.
>No chance of winning traditionally blue states. Forget even the chance of PA, MI, or WI.
The best part about Donald Trump is he is the change agent and Hillary Clinton is the status quo. With two status quo candidates, Hillary would probably come off as having more relevant policy plans rather than "muh religion."
Trump created a movement off of the idea of strengthening our foreign policy, stop getting screwed on trade deals and losing money, build back the middle class, and law and order.
Cruz lost to Trump and just because now you think hypothetically Cruz would have had a better debate performance that means he would have won the election. You're disregarding the fact that Trump started a massive movement and made career politicians like Ted Cruz look like an idiot. Ted's not what anyone wants right now. Yeah Trumps a poor debater, but he isn't a politician. We nominated him based on his message, and his message is how he will win
Benjamin Jenkins
>then why didnt he do better in the republican primary debates? he didn't definitely win any of them You better believe he did. Note that Cruz was not the obvious first choice out of the field of seventeen, but became Trump's principle opponent.
I hope the rest of your post is just a weak troll attempt.
It's hard to push that meme when Cruz consistently performed better than Trump in pre-general election polling. But then you just do as required and simply assert your beliefs as facts.
Matthew Perry
Sorry, just woke up from a siesta .
Trump is easily a tool by the media. He doesn't know it and his supporters always believe he plays "muh 4 dimensional chess".
I expected more of the Republican party. I expected this election for it to be like the UKIP or Mexican PAN. Unfortunately the party fell for the media play.
Trump will not win, the debate is a perfect example of how the media can play Trump easily and this manipulate the ameri vote. The media has made this election into a soap opera type op here in Mexico they call "efecto televisa"( making a candidate look like a soap opera star and like that win the election).
Pretty sad another Republican won, at this pace I would have even thrown my support for Jeb Bush or Kasich.
Easton Barnes

Benjamin Hernandez
That's it, I'm a #Cruzmissile now
Benjamin Edwards
You have to be a massive retard to believe that the media was at any point for Trump.
If you've been watching this election since the start you would know well that no media outlet, whether it's magazine, MSM, radio(other than conservative talk show hosts), online news, was ever for Trump.
Other than Breitbart, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, ALL of the media has been clearly against Trump. They covered him often because thought publicity on him would make him look like a loon but they didn't realize how much his message resonated with people.
He won the primary from garnering publicity and the MSM fought him the whole way.
If you think they wanted someone easy to beat to win then they would have shilled hard for someone like Kasich, so it could be Romney all over again. They instead tried to bring down Trump but didn't know that nothing they could do could prevent people from hearing his platform.
Why the fuck would the democrat controlled MSM want the guy who brought the most primary votes in history to win? The guy who started a movement and forced places like Michigan to register Republican to vote for him. Why would they possibly go for the neo-right populist candidate?
Joshua White
You forget the the main law of publicity Any publicity is good publicity.
The "bad" publicity for Trump made him a household name. Making him into a "viable" candidate. If Trump was not reported, he would have ended like Santorum. But the media has been colluding with the Dems so they wanted an easy opponent against her.
When it comes to primaries, that does not guarantee they will win. The people going to vote for Trump were not in swing stated, but in heavily Democrat states, therefore making their vote almost invalid in a national election.
I see the election not from the inside of the US, but from the outside. Making it easy to see the bias for or against someone.
Connor Hughes
You don't get it. If candidate x gets 100 times more media attention than candidate y, candidate x will win every single time. All the better that a good portion of that coverage is poisoning the well for the future.
Bias is most apparent in what is covered and what is not covered, not in what characterizations are made of the coverage.
Jayden Barnes
This guy gets it
Zachary Young
I'm not sure, aren't the media desperate to portray how right-on they are?
I think their motivation was probably similar as everyone whinging about him on facebook - they want to look good. Additionally, Trump articles will have generated them far more traffic than any other candidate.
Christian Watson
No
A basic principle of human behaviour is our small attention span and small memory. People will remember who won, not what got them there.
Eli Ramirez
>Trump is easily a tool by the media. He doesn't know it I wouldn't exactly say that. He's good at branding, and knows how to bring attention to himself. More like Trump underestimated the media's discipline, thinking he could turn them around, or use them against their inclination. But note how the complaint about Trump now is that he's not nearly as accessible as he once was. Only freely available to FOX. >I expected more of the Republican party. I expected this election for it to be like the UKIP or Mexican PAN The key difference is that UKIP was singularly purposed. The GOP's motivation in this election is for its establishment to survive with their power intact over those forces, from outside or from the base, trying to alter its purpose. Never make the mistake of expecting more of the Republican party.
>Pretty sad another Republican won, at this pace I would have even thrown my support for Jeb Bush or Kasich. And that would be a mistake of another kind.
Trump innately brought ratings, sure, but the key to long term influence is painting narratives in general terms, not getting everyone to agree with you on every point.
Nolan Watson
>the guy who brought the most primary votes in history to win? Another thing. This is not a brag point. You only get "the most primary votes in history" if there is reason to have more primaries than previously. Trump had to go deep into the schedule to secure the required number of delegates, and there are more primaries now over the caucuses which used to predominate.
