CNN's coverage having a liberal bias has nothing to do with their polling, unless they're making up the numbers in favor of Hillary Clinton. Same goes for PPP, we're not talking about news coverage, we're talking about data. Fox News does polls which are accurate despite the network being clearly pro-Trump because we're talking about data, not news coverage.

You should trust any poll where you can actually look at the data and see their methodology. And yeah, the debate was mostly a tie, and completely nailed her on trade. At one point she said, regarding Trump's negative portrayal of NAFTA, "well that's your opinion."

What Vox is saying isn't opinion. They're talking about polling practices. If this was an article entitled "12 Reasons Why Trump Is A Bigot." then you'd have a point.

It's not a perfect poll by any means, and we can see exactly how it's not perfect (it over sampled like you pointed out and like CNN pointed out themselves.) but we can actually say this about the CNN poll, and can adjust the result accordingly (especially when we have the PPP poll to get a better idea) We can say absolutely none of this about any of the online polls. All you can say about the online polls is that there's potentially an enthusiasm gap between the two candidates, which totally indicates the eventual turnout on election day.

I did. A poll with 521 is nothing out ordinary. A lot of state polls are conducted with a sample size under 1000. It's not ideal, but it offers way more actual insight then any online poll. Basically we have either this, a poll conducted similarly to how the rest of them are conducted, or the online polls with absolutely no standards.

It was basically a tie, if not a narrow win for Clinton. This was by no means a blowout.
