Days ago Hillary was saying she should be '50 points ahead'. We've had countless articles callin trump a nazi, hothead, maniac, psycho, imbecile, amongst many other insults. We were told this guy is a meme candidate who shouldn't be taken seriously and was only there because of these alt right trolls.

Hillary however is a serious politician. Perhaps with some minor health issues or controversies, but is overall much more qualified and competent. Undebatebly so in fact.

This is the perception many people get through the newspapers and tv stations everyday.

Was that apparent in the debate?

No. trump gave a measured and considered performance. The pundits can over hype some Hillary sound bites or mistakes from trump, but as the days go by the idea that trump is a viable candidate and reasonable man is what viewers will remember the most.

Statisticians who predicted the outcome based on polling data. Their political analysis is terrible, they're just the only people who actually know how to treat polls properly in thw US.

I'm a little baffled how anyone could think Clinton won that debate. Unless its from lowered expectations of "if she doesn't go onstage and drop multiple shartbombs then its a win" I just don't see how a working brain could reach that conclusion.

Trump clearly won the first few rounds and the rest while Clinton lost them. But she started off at a medium level and never improved, while Trump improved over time and was clearly getting under clinton's skin as her performance diminished. Its a clear 10-0 decision.

The very reason we're hearing all this post-debate discussion of biased moderators and microphones not working is spin for the Clinton loss.

Now, a debate performance is in the eye of the beholder, supporters or either candidate are going to come away from it thinking their side won. But objectively one side does better than the other and in this first debate Trump pulled off a win of moderate proportions.

Bullshit, Romney is widely regarded to have won the 1st debate but there was no bump in the polls.
