go ahead. it's a good experience for most people. the main reason i did it was to see/reconfirm what part of my identity is israeli, what i think of israel, etc. I didn't enjoy the trip, but that wasnt the most important thing I got; the most important thing I got was reconfirmation that I'm really american rather than israeli, that I don't like american jews, that i dont like israeli culture very much, etc etc. I would do the trip.
