Tox was proven to be insecure, full of bugs, and is certainly not a replacement for DNS by any means. Do you understand anything about the internet?
I know it isn't a replacement for DNS, and I never claimed it was. I also think that a lot more development time will be given if Tox is used for something serious like Cred Forums. How exactly is Tox insecure? Leaking IP addresses is not insecure

HOW TO APPLY PROXY?
I'm quite sure if we were planning something serious we would reconsider where we spoke. So far we aren't large enough or nearly organized to be a threat. Nor is this Cred Forums tier

You can apply a proxy from your computers proxy setting and check the router settings if you want to screw up some other channels.
Unlike a vpn, it is simply entering two sets of numbers.
Getting a good proxy in the first place is the hard part.

Yeah if you add someone to your friends list because of how tox works (you connect directly to them with no central servers) they can see your IP. However it's extremely easy to route all traffic through Tor it takes less than 30 seconds to do it.

it's like an IP but for the hardware that handles your connection. tells your router which computer to route packets on your network.
spoofing mac is extremely easy, it's only really needed for universities or if you think that your ISP's router is logging your mac addresses. spoofing could be used for plausible deniability as just proving an IP did something isn't enough for a conviction in all countries afaik.
