pretty ok. fly-culture is cool and AFSOC culture doubly so. got to work with a lot of high-speed low-drag operator types who were great people to talk to and befriend. overall good experience that payed really well.

I flew heavies. AC-130s. Mostly gunships but I flew a good deal of supply shit as well. Not as sexy as a fighter pilot but imo much more satisfying because the work was more mission critical than some showoff in a fighter plane tossing 2000lb of munitions while my heavy could toss out tends of thousands.

Don't really feel it too much. The plane is pretty massive. It vibrates a bit but surprisingly chill.

The sound it makes is pretty indescribable though. The rounds are so close to gether it turns it into just a constant sound. I imagine its the single most terrifying sound for a haji to hear though. A bomb can miss. But a Spectre just sits there, too high for your shitty SFM/MANPAD to hit with ten different sensors watching your every move. I'm biased I guess, but I think its the scariest weapons platform in the world. I don't fly anymore. My eyesight went to shit for reasons so now I just ply my trade as a mechanical engineer.

It's very hard. But hardly impossible. Why isn't ROTC possible? Short of it though, you need good eyesight, you need to be in fantastic shape, and you need to apply your self. Never had a problem with them when I was deployed. In fact they almost always took more precise shots from the vehicles instead of spraying and praying. They were also great at getting info from the local women.
