A lot of Churches don't even ask for a tithe and while I can agree there are bad people such as TV religious telemarketers, the majority do more with that money. In fact, I used some of that money before and built houses, fed the poor, gave diapers to babies, put in fire alarms in low income housing, gave clothes to orphans, and toothbrushes for kids and so much more we didn't even ask if they are Christians. Oh those Christians taking all the money for themselves

I didn't need a book to tell me not to kill. I didn't need anyone to tell me not to steal. What did I miss? Someone telling me how to be a good person? Some people have that as common sense.

Also, if you want to really be a good person, read Plato, Socrates and Demosthenes. They understood the world which didn't socially change much since 500 B.C.

I grew up in an evangelical Christian household. Went to church every Sunday, youth group every Wednesday and Christian school everyday from kindergarten to grade 12. There is no real evidence of there being a God. Christianity was developed to help people find a purpose in life. Following it as a religion is definitely not a bad way to live. I was taught solid morals and I believe my Christian upbringing shaped my character for the better. That being said, believing there is a man in the sky who controls everything is delusional. If there is a god who started it all, he left this place a long time ago.

I think this is true, if you want to get into it debating is against being a Christian because a true Christian is focusing his time and energies elsewhere. It's only allowed if it's a public debate.
