First Amendment rights will no longer apply to the Internet on October 1st, 2016. Obama is handing control of the DNS to the world on October 1st.
You just saw the effects of this from YouTube. Websites are forced to change their rules and ToS or face termination by foreign countries outside the countries in which their servers actually reside.
Why is this Happening? __
>Wait, how does Obama hand over the keys of the internet?
The DNS Server that controls the entire internet (Everything with a .com at the end, or .org. Like youtube.com, gamefaqs.com) was controlled by the United States.
On October 1st, they relinquish control of the DNS protocol to all the foreign bureacracies of the world.
The practical effect on this is that it means other countries besides the United States can take down websites without having to go to the U.S. beforehand, which has had a history of protecting its First Amendment rights.
If the U.N. wants to take down a website for hate speech, they can do so now without any intervention by the U.S. This also means all websites that exist within DNS (this means gamefaqs.com) must answer to the laws of ALL countries, not just one.
Doesn't matter where in the world your website/server is anymore, you must respect the laws of all countries or be taken down.
Since the U.N. bans hate speech, that's out the window and so YouTube is forced to do this.
What can we do? __ Nothing. Once control is given there's no taking it back. We had our chance to fight for free speech on the internet and lost it. It's done.
Republican Senator Ted Cruz, who lost the Republican Primary to Donald J Trump, has launched a countdown clock
Republicans are fighting to stop this deal, but they need to get past Obama's presidential veto before they can do it. Some democrats will need to be red-pilled on this issue or else it's getting veto'd

>DNS this means dick all if you have your own DNS server now if they actually fuck with low level shit like networks then it's time to worry
Thomas Hernandez
DNS is just an addressing system. As soon as they start fucking with free speech (and they will), people will start coming up with alternative addressing systems and DNS will just die.
It's just the road signs, not the roads.
Daniel Thomas
The DNS system is just the name resolution system, it's not the actual internet.
If they even try to censor stuff it will cause the biggest shitstorm the internet has ever seen and will make people dump the old system and seek alternatives.

>people will start coming up with alternative addressing systems and DNS will just die.
Wrong.
Niche and Joe the Plumber are free to hide their websites in alternative DNSes, but actual businesses will be forced to use the government sponsored DNS.
By the way, if you own a private DNS, try to remember you hold ultimate responsibility for governing it. Meaning you can and will be thrown in jail for shit someone using your DNS did because its your DNS and you allowed it to happen.
This "USE A DIFFERENT DNS" is a shitty meme propogated by people that don't understand that the world revolves around money, not possibilities.

There are tools to check that. It makes DNS requests for a bunch of sites that are sometimes censored and then tells you which ones are at your location.
Angel Fisher
This. It's like these newfags don't even read Kimm0's blog. He lays out the entire problem with the DNS system and why the internet's centralized control by a private company has always been a huge negative.

You guys are relying on an economic grassroots movement to keep the will of special interests to unduly influence free expression over the Internet in check, whereas before this US legal precedent effectively killed any grand designs on the impartiality of our infrastructure by corporate interests in the cradle.

Nathan Williams
Download your pdf files now people by tomorrow you wont have access to anything the government doesn't want you to know especially things you can use to fight back.
Litterally all it does is you type in a website and your browser sends it to a DNS server. Right? Okay and the dns server then sends your browser the ip adress so you can go to the site.
Basically it's a yellow book. You know the name and you look up the phone number.
Dam Cred Forums you are a bunch of idiots.

Yeah. I mean, I agree it's a dumbshit terrible thing Obama is doing, but that's what he does so I'm not surprised. However, I really don't think it's going to bring about the end-times of the internet. The almighty dollar runs the world, so if this was going to be a real threat to the internet, big business would have shut it down before us peons ever even heard about it.
Benjamin Sanders
>a foreign country can have you taken off the internet because they don't like your content Okay, so when is China going to DDoS Google?
At the most, this will just mean countries will block your site from their internet. Naturally the goal of this is to give Jews the right to ban all anti-Jewish pro-white ideas from Western nations, while promoting Islam. I'm sure you'll see a flurry of internet filter legislation in Europe, now. Which means Cred Forums will become a good board.

Now that's an (((argument)))
TOR use in the US is in the toilet compared to EU precisely because of how much of a government ass fucking TOR node operators get for being private entities rather than common carriers.
You think the US government is going to soften it's position now because the kind of BS they are already pulling against DNS alternatives would be 'disproportionate' once applied to all networks?

Nothing is stopping you from setting up a DNS server, nothing is stopping people from distributing hosts files like people did in the past before DNS servers became a thing.
People act as if the top level DNS servers are some sort of black magic box when in fact it's only a list of ip's and the URLs they translate to like pointed out.

If they did this, they will not kill the alt-right, they will turn it into an actual political movement.
The reason people in the early 1900s and earlier used to meet up in halls and on the streets was because they had no internet, so they had to rally in person.
Now people dissatisfied with the status quo won't be content to bitch about it on the internet, but will need to meet up in person and become active IRL.
Adam Ross
I've got my plans for thenday, just felt like having a shit post the horror

If you knew what servers AIM used for it's various functions, you can bypass DNS entirely by putting in lines in your hosts file.
A DNS entry looks like this.
www.Cred Forums.org 104.16.67.203
When your internet connection attempts to access www.Cred Forums.org it first looks in your hosts file for an entry, if it doesn't find it, it contacts your ISPs DNS server (or any other DNS server you've manually set up) for it.
Joseph Gray
>If they did this, they will not kill the alt-right, they will turn it into an actual political movement They will silence their opposition then find ways to remove the loudest ones from public. Most likely using hate speech laws. Its already happened in other places.
Wyatt Myers
Of course its nothing, nothing at first But the international bodies now in charge will soon set up committees and regulations to police what they deem harmful, anti-progress. Next come the blacklists, eventually a requirement that everyone obtain an internet license to use the world wide web.
We should fear the gradual erosion by a wholly unaccountable body. If you thought it was difficult already to get a far shake in US courts just wait until its in internationals hands.

Brody Russell
It's a handy bit of knowledge if say the UN were to declare one of the sites you use to be a racist place and "shut it down" by putting in a DNS block. All you need to do is make your own line in your hosts file and automagically bypass the "block".
Julian Adams
The middle east is a problem due to stuff being harem to them. They'll disable the net.
Andrew Hughes
But it isn't a transfer in that sense. It is merely letting the US government's oversight of ICANN expire. However, since ICANN must be under the oversight of SOME government entity in order to maintain it's exemption from anti-trust laws, to the UN it goes. Quick, easy and quiet.... and it's gone. Hell, I think the fuckers wrecked a train today to make sure we didn't notice.
Colton Taylor
It wont matter the fight will be lost when full information control is implemented. In the end there will be the rich and the poor and no middle ground. Unless you have physical access to my computer, that's unlikely to happen.
Top level DNS servers send their data to lower level DNS servers like your ISPs DNS servers. If you think there's no backups and nobody checks this shit before replacing data, you're fucking retarded.
[IP address] [Hostname]
That's what a DNS entry looks like minus the brackets. What a DNS block does is change what IP address a hostname such as www.Cred Forums.org resolves to. If you know what IP address it should resolve to, all you need to do is add a single line as above in your hosts file on your computer.
A DNS "block" is nothing but the DNS server redirecting you to a page that says "This shit has been b&".
It really is that simple.

Twitter, facebook, reddot., and google ramp up their light censorship where they suppress stories they don't like.
Techno-Feudalism is here boys. Get comfy and enjoy the ride.
Anthony Young
ICANN is only responsible for some ranges such as .com
If shit were to turn into a wasteland as some tinfoilers would have you think, there's no stopping people from setting up alternate DNS services where ICANN has no power.
You're welcome. People need to educate themselves before they start panicking lest they look just as retarded as the old people in government who think shit is a series of tubes and whatnot.
>memorize an assortment of IPs
That's not what you do, you put it in a specific clear text file on your computer and it looks there first, you set up a competing DNS server or people start distributing those clear text files.
That's how shit has worked since the dawn of TCP/IP.
Angel Howard
Shills are sliding this hard and up until now, Cred Forums's played right into their hands. You should all be ashamed of yourselves.
Colton Green
>i think this would be non issue, with bypass norway mentioned.
dark net is full of very long IPs, thing is you have to know them to access, or go to a dark web directory to find them.
>it'd be great if an user could drop us a link to a tutorial
Eli Cooper

u guys are pretty dumb
Domain Name Service just translates a url into an ip address
u dont need it
u just need to know the ip address

It's obviously not an issue for you faggot, but 4chniz is mostly casual shitposters that browse on their phone or chrome incognito.

Wyatt Ortiz
Don't forget You are here forever.
Ryan Powell
we already have this shit with tor
Jeremiah Reyes
That's why I got a blackbox - a nomx device. It has it's own DNS servers and P2P mail so you don't have to go through any else's servers even if you're using GMail or AOL or worse - Yahoo! - it simply routes you to a destination mailbox without storing the message on 3rd party servers. Snowden and Clinton should be using this now.
Alexander Watson
And nothing of value would be lost.
Lincoln Flores
>no big deal. people would just have to drop .com domains and migrate to a new standard
yeah no big deal at all m8
The more likely scenario is that anti-competitive monopolies on the internet proliferate and the majority of webmasters adapt to the new reality of prior restraint under pain of delisting so that they can continue to reap the overwhelming majority of adbux available on the internet with a .com.
You're dismissing the negative consequences of this decision because 'its not full-scale internet armaggeddon'.
Ahmed, we know you don't like freedom of speech, fuck off.
Josiah Campbell
You're retarded
Ayden Brooks
they wont be blocking shit like facebook
it will be something like pol
is only issue if its ipv6
fuck that
unless theyre lazy and make the address something like 1::1
i can live with that
but that dns server has to copy from another dns server
Parker Robinson
kill yourself faggot. >uninformed... > just want to be comfy, so everythings fine. >ill just put on my fur lined hat and get under a blanket and this will blow over like a brisk noreaster >not like anything that happens on top even really affe3cts me anyway >why am i getting a boner watching a boxing match... weird
Noah Ramirez
And you're missing the point that ICANN can be bypassed. I'm sure ICANN can send strongly worded letters if someone were to set up shop and hand out their own top level domain names.
A domain name is an IP address and a string of text where it points to.

These holy dubs do not lie uhm what was it, it fucking 5:04 here dog wake me, prolly jews outside trying to get my torrfesk again.
Anyways, please go linux. Debian is very easy to use and safe, they roll slow, but ie arch is more painful, do that later if you not into it yet. You need to fix the gui a bit to make it look good, I use cinnamon with some devianart shit, I love it! No flying shit in my face when I press dat windows key or alt-tab... soo noice, so noice, so noice!
>Yeah, if you want into pentesting I can give you a script I use to install the tools I use I have a tendency to make my own shit though, but some things you cannot live without.
Metasploit is still a bitch, install it first. If you fuck up(as you will), just gas the puter and do it right the 2nd time.
Fucking CTR gassed one of our songs here.. raysis... because it had text... I fuccking HATE KIKES! Anyways they can't gas our songs, we got Tjodolf now. youtube.com/watch?v=_UY3EKzvjeE >Fucking sick of your niggers and kikes coming here censoring our shit. IT IS A SONG! 5 mill views, gassed

Hudson Sanders
it's been an honor shitposting with you all
i will form an intelligence cell and connect us all once more
Levi Williams
Just use IP addresses to connect. Most browsers let you do this
Hard mode: we create our own system that replaced the function of dns (that is making IP address into more read all domain names)
Josiah Lewis
This is a good thing. It will create incentive to quicken the advance distributed, censorship-resistant technologies like Tor, torrents, and Tox. Hackers who are largely libertarians/anarchists created the internet, and hackers will keep it free no matter what those power tripping globalists want.
Noah Stewart
You're being willfully obtuse. Nobody is saying it will be impossible to get a domain name registered. People are saying that getting a .com registered may now require agreeing to all sorts of content restrictions going forward.
Since .coms are nearly 50% of all websites on the clearnet, that represents a new level of censorship for half of all DOMAINS currently registered. That says nothing about what percentage of the userbase will be subject to the consequences of such regulations (well over 50%)
Charles Wood
Can somebody tell me some good .bit websites that i can start frequenting now?
Thanks.
Camden Perez
>implying nothing will change the day after tomorrow. nothing will visibly change by this time next year 4 years from now things will be fucky and we weill all be wondering WTF in 10 years saudi's own out .gov DNS >.... ... even as a canadian citizen you see no problem with this?
you know KYS was JUST(in) bantz before... but i think maybe i am meaning it this time
Christopher Thomas
And you're being willfully retarded.
If it comes to pass and the skies really fall, there's nothing stopping people from scraping what's on the top level DNS servers and putting their own competing standard where ICANN has no say.
Wyatt Davis
ayyyyyy my nignog, this is more like /nigeriaspeedshere/
u could just edit the host file to point to the url to the correct ip yourself and pass that around
dude SWIM buys his steroids online and that website gets shut down and registered somewhere else every few months

I'm an American. You are stupid regardless of borders.
The corporate nonprofit entity that gains official control over the servers took unofficial control years ago. They even outright defied government requests on an issue when they created .xxx domains.
Lay off the cheese. Get Ted's cock out of your mouth.
Jack James
what if just start setting up websites that end in .net instead of .com or .org ?
is this a viable alternative to preserve freedom?

Good question, how will anime be affected?

Kill yourself Alex Jones butt humping faggot. All thats happening is DNS licenses are expiring and are immediately being renewed. Aka nothing. Ted Cruz's proposed bill cucks the entire internet, he was effectively trying to give the US government entire control of the internet.
Again kill yourself you fear mongering Alex Jones shit head.
Kevin Powell
What modern ISP allows outbound mail traffic from residential hookups?
Jayden Miller
>Meaning you can and will be thrown in jail for shit someone using your DNS did because its your DNS and you allowed it to happen.
This isn't inevitable just because you say it is.
It's going to bite large American companies like Google and Facebook and Twitter the hardest.
Pretty soon people will realize it was better in the 1990s where each business had a small business server to take care of the office needs and eschew these social media services as the cancer they are, or get sued by China.
It will all work out just fine.
Caleb White
ph. i forgot to look at your flag, just assumed leaf.
i am well aware that the nonprofit took over years ago
i dont want it leaving the usa... period. at least if its in usa we have at least a fighting chance of a modicum of control
if it leaves we are sure to be jewed.
and what do you have against it anyway, other than cruz's endorsement
i smell a faggot
Carson Myers
p2p distributed dns then. not that hard. they'd have to arrest all of us to stop us.
Logan Baker
ISPs will let you run outbound mail through them user.
Carter Ward
What modern ISP gives a fuck what sort of traffic its users are generating?
Bentley Bell
what modern isp gives a fuck
and do u even know the difference between pop3 imap and smtp?

I have anything against anything other than the fear mongering bullshit that you're obviously happily swallowing from Cruz regardless of whatever retard logic you've managed to concoct to justify otherwise.
You are mentally deficient and any resources you consume are a waste
Henry White
They don't have the balls and don't care enough.

i believe the story goes that the original programmer did not anticipate any of his code being used by the year 2000
Nolan Gomez
Consider using nolisting
Nolisting is a method of configuring your MX records such that the highest priority (lowest preference number) record does not have a running SMTP server. This relies on the fact that a lot of spam software will only try the first MX record, while legitimate SMTP servers try all MX records in ascending order of preference. Some spam software also attempts to send directly to the lowest priority (highest preference number) MX record in violation of RFC 5321, so that could also be set to an IP address without an SMTP server. This is reported to be safe, though as with anything, you should test carefully first.
Xavier Young
what the fuck. i guess i better quit growing my chickens, kill my garden andpass up all the deer i seee this year, cause you say it would be a waste.
look faggot. i havent heard cruz say anything about this shit, or anyone else that may spot cruz. why is this all about cruz for you? your absentee father a mestizo?
i heard its changing hands, looked into how and why and i dont like it.
Cameron Sanders
C++ my mother tongue well assembly actually but you don't sit so much with that anymoar. C++ is the way to go again! I hope they fix the template rape shit, it so fucking idiotic, much happenings! C++17nåw! lamdas, autos, palatalization, clustering(3rd part still think) you got to go here.
That and some milder python shit, you learn that crap in like a couple of days, it's so easy.
Also in c++ fucking make it functional!! Fuck the curly bracket nightmare. An indent is the same.
Hold on I'm a bit tired here I'll try finding them, they have tons of machine learning and clustering shit in them too, I'll see here. Should fixed it real nice for the pentest stuff, it's many programs here I've just installed I forgot to add etc. Just taking this smoke and I'll see here.
It's nice to have this cuz once in a while you get a new hd or hw in gen or just set up a puter, also sometime you really really want to remove all traces kek... I'm talking about this one to anybody
Wyatt Lewis
So i can't shop on amazon anymore?
Evan Thomas
Will I still be able to shitpost or nah?
Jaxon Bailey
>Consider using nolisting this isn't necessary with most ISPs
anyway I don't want to be at the mercy of the fucking assholes running the spam lists, they literally do not give a shit if they fuck you
and if they catch you using these tricks you're probably going to have a hard time convincing them to get you removed from their lists
Joshua Powell
>I'm stil here Nor-user
this is one of the better conversations/and learning i've found on here
Connor Ramirez
not that guy but I was was thinking of using tails with virtubox running kali image from another usb. That way I can hope/assume that traffic from kali is going through the tor network.
Then connect through a VPN service through TOR so they can't log any activity. (give them false info and whatnot when signing up for the service)
But I'm reading about using TOR < VPN < TOR < VPN as well.
Dylan Cook
Why are you guys so retarded?
Maybe if you did 5 minutes of googling you'd figure out that it's not being handed over to the UN. It's being handed over to ICANN and the multi-stakeholder community. Said community consists of the organizations, businesses, and tech-savvy individuals that HELPED TO FUCKING BUILD the Internet. Do you really think that the people who have been working to keep everything in the background running smoothly for the last 18 Goddamn years are going to instantly go "Here's the entire Internet, United Nations/China/Russia/Whatever other boogeyman you can think of"? This whole conversation has been utterly dominated by technologically-illiterate morons who think that the United States can tell every website in the world to obey the First Amendment or protect people's freedom of speech. Protip: They can't and never could in the first place. The worst thing we could do is hold off on his transition. Then China and Russia will go to the UN and say "See? The US wants to keep these important functions to themselves!" and reignite the ITU discussions that the US and its allies shut down back in 2012. Only this time, the US would be coming into the talks from a weakened position. And when the ITU does take control, you'll bitch about how you thought the US owned the Internet and was supposed to stop this.
Nathan Taylor
I am now a #cruzmissile
Julian Long
Save the Pepes!
Isaac Young
Four states are suing Obama over this.
Ryder Morgan
Don't kill anything, just stop consuming those resources yourself. If you independently came to this conclusion then the main point is still more or less the same. Cruz is just the public face of your brand of stupidity. You're a panicky idiot that doesn't deserve to live.
Jackson Brooks
unironically made me think
Cameron Morgan
i think VPNs are overrated for torrents and shit
FBI just has to hop in the VPN with you
the only thing it kinda protects you from is a middle man listening in but these VPN programs are pathetic they are nowhere near as strong as what you can get with an ASA
Ayden Scott
I hate this one. I want to go sit with him and listen to his stories and become his friend :'(
Landon Garcia
now that i think about it wouldnt a vpn possibly be even more of a problem?
without a vpn all they can see is your public ip address so they cant prove exactly which computer in the house did the illegal activity unless they were monitoring the routers nat translations (or even if it was someone in the house could be a dude in a minivan across the street)
with a vpn it keeps the source ip and throws on headers so if you peel that off you can prove without a doubt exactly which pc in the house did it
Robert Morales
damn bro. thats jus not going to happen.... im eating all these chickens, veggies and deer, and im just gonna have to keep online communications vanilla. nothing new there.
however, i definitely think you are a faggot for making this all about cruz and not actually putting forth something constructive like
Cameron Jenkins
Here's hoping it works out, boys. We're beyond the event horizon.
Jonathan Morgan
m8 where did you get your copy of tails/how old is it? I've been thinking about just saying fuck it and using the one hosted online but i'm not sure if its even worth risking given how easy it would be to get a cucked version served up.
Man, this is a mess, it's from last year I think but still valid though.
I commented on the top there, it mixes everything into one file here(well there are more) and doesn't take your screencard into account.
Hmm nah I've used it on several boxes when I sat up the park last year. Where I need both some pentest shit and well atleast the clustering ml shits etc.
I had to remove something that would pin point me to my school and not so many have the edu I got
It's a shitfest script! but look at it, remove the bottom part at least there is some steam fucking in there to get my screencard working, and also using gpus for shit.... ugh nvm, just pick out
Sörry it wasn't as organized as I ment it was, but you got yer hacking tools there, many or most important ones - metasploit which as said is a bitch
Josiah Lewis
anything else i should do before you come to my house in a black shirt FBI user?
Levi Young
Guess I forgot my obligation to explain how and why you're stupid in depth, at your convenience.
I told you the same thing the long post did, as did the post you were replying to when you told them to kill themselves. The only difference is that other guy took the time to coddle you. Probably because he doesn't yet understand that this won't make you learn a damn thing about researching things before your shit your pants.
Jacob Gonzalez
wtf now I hate DNS

Oh also we got IDE's now from the resharper goyims, and they rock.
You either have to buy a license, or crack em. PyCharm - python, you can't live without this Clion - for c++, you can't use old make files but the newer ones other than this, it's all you want! must have!
These guys are cool too, so if you are just honest, and call them or write them; "Hey I am a student atm I like your program, now I can't afford right now, but I will subscribe to your shit when I'm done and start working or I will get my emp to buy to us all, can I have?"
Remarkable, when you are nork honest like this. They get sat out and go... ... Well.. we need sheke... nooo user Anonsen, we trust you, here is a product key you can use, then you buy
>I'm not kidding, but abuse this, they know you can just crack it. I've done this with other companies too and got my school to get licenses etc. Brokered for them, I werked before I took my degree so I also knew many people very stupid shit, just be honest, it's like that simpsons episode >Guy knows there is a wall and he is not allowed to pass >So.. Mr Wiggum... can I pass here .. or? N... Ofc you can, how can I deny you
Man in this whole episode they got us
Carson Robinson
Wtf I hate niggerized presidents now.
Wyatt Hill
ARG! *Don't abuse this*

JDIMSA. If you don't get a verified copy from somebody associated with TAILS in person at a tails-installing get together its very difficult to know whether you have an illegitimate version with vulnerabilities, given what's known about SSL vulnerabilities.

or b thats 5.5.5.5:49153
kinda sorta
hope the ip doesnt point to a load balancer or that the server is hosting more than 1 website cuz then ur fucked
Robert Baker
but if it is hoseting more tha one site, isnt that just s different port? it still has the same IP right, so could you not desigante the port? [load balancer, i get that would get scrambled as fuck, but a simple multiple host...?}
Nathaniel Roberts
That really activated my almonds

Oh give it up. You're just butthurt we stole your flag and put a FUCKING LEAF on it.
Kayden Walker
How will this impact my viewing of Japanese cartoons?
you can set up the website to respond to different ports
Connor Reyes
Love wardruna
Luke Carter
that would make sense. an irc server or a quake server has different "services" listening to different ports. im obviously not a sys engineer or anything over here. im working with a cursary understanding of this shit based on clan arena ca. 1999. just curisousous
Grayson Sullivan
God speed! And you will never turn back, to get the windows games running you will be tearing your hair a bit, but most mayor games are supported ( I don't so much anymoar) you find this.
Sorry the script was a mess, I thought I fixed it better than this. Some times I install crap and I always forget to add it there. I just used it on several boxes. And yawn I'm sitting bare on a decoy here actually, I'm expecting to be tapped so iptables and shit has been set basic.
But dude. Windows now it makes you retarded too, come home son! You can do everything here, modify the kernel fuck as you want, access to all hardware, write your drivers easy as pie(ok it's not that hard in windows either)
Job oppertunities, linux embedded that's going to explode and replace a lot of these expensive PLCs/DCE(I forget what you burgers use, acro I mean).
Also academia everything, microsoft killed it self with their bs. It's not for computer literate people anymore either.
You will be tampering a bit with your GUI and to get latest nvidia driver up, and not the old deb shipped one, yeah it's still a pain but worth it. Do this first maybe.
Now I sleep and dreaming of harpooning whales.
Good night anons

oh and i love how i should just accept some bullshit i read on here as fact when its so simple as to say " dont worry fellow user, its just like y2k, you are a plebe for thinking anything will come of this, buy in to my company" thats why i like longpost guy's explanation. thats the oposite of stupid.
