How do we successfully develop and modernize El Salvador in record time?
I'm a big fan of the Meiji Restoration and how in a couple of decades successfully managed to transform a literal medieval asian country into a strong industrialized nation that humiliated Russia.

you're in a worse situation than us, but i'm convinced the steps to trying to fix this shithole are the same:
1.- just like burger above mentioned, getting rid of every single inmate is essential to the process. Those scumbags have become a burden and probably 98% are beyond saving, i mean we're talking murderers, drug dealers, kidnappers and god knows what else. Dudes who have committed minor crimes must be disposed as well because if they are locked up the influence the bastards above will have on him will turn him into another degenerate.
2.- Euthanize every single politician, their offspring, other relatives and friends (just a handful of them surviving this purge will be enough to go back where we began, so it is improtant to get rid of them asap, no survivors).
3.- Create death squads to deal with any degenerate on the streets
4.-free tarde (in our case if NAFTA had been negotiated in a different way, things would have turned out better for both parties: burgers and tacos; unfortunately, the same greedy bitches wanted more and both got rekt and many people ded up unemployed on both sides. Since i don't know much about El salvador other than MS guys terrorizing/murdering innocent pedestrians at crazy rates, i don't know if it'd work). I lived in a city with a large Salvadoran diaspora. The sweetest, prettiest girl I ever met was Salvadoran.
That being said, every other Salvadoran I met was "muh MS13" and "i will kill Trump", etc.

Your government needs to sort out a deal with places such as Singapore, Taiwan, SKorea, Japan. Send 100,000 young people to each if these countries to study and work. Being immersed in this lifestyle so far from home should help to change many peoples psyche that their is hope. And there are legitimate ways to better yourself beside gangs and sneaking into the US.

I've been to Cd. Juarez and felt a lot of tension, but there were a handful of streets where police and guards made for a safe relaxed atmosphere.

If you're silly and have the bad luck to get in the real downtown (not the pretty touristic part with police around) there's a high chance you'll get pick pocketed. It's not like someone will suddenly point an AK-47 at you, but more like someone """accidentally""" pushing you and then the next time you check your pockets your phone is gone.

A couple years back I did a surfing trip in your part of the world. I didn't even consider visiting El Salvador because I had the fear of God put into me. Only during my trip I met some Americans who surfed there, and they said it was a friendly place, great beaches, and felt no different to any other Central American nation. I've been kicking myself for not visiting ever since.
