Theres a difference between individual and group

Well, when we were primarily agricultural peoples just a century ago nearly everyone was married as that was the default state. Agreed. And I would go so far as to state that it also was the default state of the hunter and gatherer society as we can see in the tribes left untouched by civilization.

Man and woman form a natural unit that can profit from a tribal structure, but in the West today we are battling tribalism. I think that many people are blinded in their believe that our wealth came by chance.
