The only thing more morally bankrupt and worse than income tax is probably inheritance tax. I've seen people claim that inheritance tax should be 99% or even 100% - with a straight face and applause from their peers. They claim that people inheriting wealth didn't work for it and don't deserve it. Not only is that a gross generalisation that is simply not true most of the time, but it's not even the biggest issue. The biggest issue is that, like with income tax, they are willing to forcefully take away a persons earnings and achievements without a second thought, all the while claiming some moral high ground but really being nothing but disgusting thugs.
In the end, people will get killed so the state can get their inheritance to fund it's bloated bullshit.
