cautiously optimistic

>for reference: no one seriously believed Kennedy in 1962 when he wanted to see a man on the moon "before the end of the decade"

Fix your fucking rockets first

Considering its around 50-60 years away, nope. And 2-3 people walking on it isn't a colony.

>people that can afford a $200k ticket
Mars will be the all white utopia everyone on here has dreamed for

What's the purpose? We are definetly not ready yet. Can't this egoistic faggot do something better with all his money? We should just nuke africa and other sand people and continue devoloping our technology/civilisation in earth.

I think I will stay on Earth, space sounds scary.

>tfw I've already begun saving
>feels good, man

fyi if I end up on a space colony and there are Muslims, I will murder as many as I'm able to. Even women and children.

Small price to pay to keep the universe free of their filth.

> 200k to leave behind this gay Earth

I think i've found a reason to keep going boys.

Isn't Elon a liberal? He would probably take a bunch of muslims and africans who would torpedo the whole colony

Timeline:

> First generation one nog is aboard the virgin flight
>impregnates half the women
>Colony becomes Detroit
Or Mars nukes earth in 200 years after having no Earthly bonds anymore.

How about you successfully launch a fucking satellite first Elon?

>leafs on mars
Is there no end to this suffering?

Jews aren't white.

Altering man’s bodily functions to meet the requirements of extraterrestrial environments would be more logical than providing an earthly environment for him in space (Clynes & Kline).

To what fucking end? Why the fuck would you put any number of people on a lifeless rock? Because you can? Is that really the type of thinking that we should be going forward with?

Any project that suggest colonization of Mars before the development of a sustainable terraforming strategy is deluded, murderous and entirely insane. Fuck Musk.

He's a libertarian afaik. He's for clean energy and stopping climate change though.

imagine...

Its not because we can, its because its the holy shithole we can remolely live on thats within our reach.

Some libertarians are open borders blue pilled cucks

He was aiming for about 100 people per trip.

fucking mars meme; WE DON'T EVEN HAVE A FUCKING BASE ON THE MOON YET!!!

musk is a t-rex of a snake oils sales man but i guess he needs a bunch of rubes cash to keep amanda beard happy

bullshit
youtube.com/watch?v=FmoiwjXepHM

>moon base
Why didn't we elect Newt again?

Except it really isn't. It's literally a lifeless planet that may or may not be some sort of long forgotten tomb world which hasn't had an atmosphere that can support life for millions of years.

I really don't see the added value of large scale Martian colonization, it'll be a hellhole without terraforming.

I don't doubt that Elon Musk and space X can accomplish a manned mission to mars, but I highly doubt his timetable. There's simply no way he will have his ship built / tested within 10 years. I mean you are talking about something that is vastly complex. Maybe if he ignored all safety regulations and whatnot, but it's just not feasible. I'm glad he is optimistic about it, but I'm just not.

I mean think about it this way, let's say everything works out, you get your design nailed down, you get a working life support system that can last 4+ months during the transit, and you get people that won't go stir crazy being locked up in a spaceship for that long and are also capable scientist and engineers that can fix problems with the ship / survive on mars when they get there.

Lets say all of that is done. What happens when the booster has a failure and doesn't get back to its target? It explodes in the atmosphere. Then you have a situation in which the astonauts are in orbit and basically have no way to get anywhere unless they can get back to Earth somehow. You lost billions of dollars and it casts doubt on doing another mission.

There's just so many goddamn things that can go wrong with such a complex mission, I think it would make much more sense to build some sort of new ISS that could then transit to mars. This allows you to build the spaceship piece by piece in orbit from multiple smaller launches. You could probably even do a lot of this robotically from down on Earth as you assemble the ship compartment-ally.

Then after that you can send the astronauts to the ship once its completed, refuel it and send it to mars orbit, and they would have multiple lander ships to ferry supplies to and from the space station / transport.

>be first mars colony
>confined to a sterile pod for 23 hours a day
>spend 1 hour a day on surface of mars
>basically arizona without cacti
>never will feel rainfall on your skin again
>never will lay on the beach with your girl again
>never will lay on a field of grass again and look up at clouds
>never will breathe the sweet morning dew of autumn
>never will hear the crickets chirping on a summer night
>infinite quiet
>will see only the same 9 people day in and day out
>can't ever meet a new human being, male or female
>no surprised left in your future of any kind
>all communications with earth on a 1 hour delay
>drink reconstituted urine for water
>but no niggers in sight
8/10 would recommend

We humans cannot even deal with each other in trains.

How the fuck will we managed on a red desert planet millions of miles away where communication and understanding is key?
Don't speak so soon, buddy. I can afford that ticket and would do it just to spite you.

I will be the catalyst to begin the mixed master race of mars.

idk i think over 1 year in space you go insane i don't know how they will pull through

People get so offended by Elon's goal of creating a secondary planetary station for humanity.

>"Why go to Mars when we still have problems down here on Earth?"

We're ALWAYS going to have problems here on Earth, wouldn't you want a secondary hardrive to ensure your data is not lost forever?

lol @ a mars colony being the earth's boot disk

Aesthetic Martian colony when?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA OMFG

THERE ARE SATELLITES THAT GO BY US IN SPACE EVERY DAY

Name one planet within our reach that has, a sizable gravity well, moderate temps for us to live without freezing or burning to death. Mars has an atmosphere still and supports growing life. Theres lots of water ice to keep us alive and to make rocket fuel.

Trips to mars aren't that long. 4-5 months at the longest, and newer engines are going to make that travel time even less.

Fucking none, so why the hell are we focusing on putting idiots on a dead world instead of figuring out how to build the fucking Enterprise and get the fuck out of our solar system?

How about this one faggot?

newscientist.com/article/mg23130884-100-proxima-b-closest-earth-like-planet-discovered-right-next-door/

>implying there won't be at least 1 nigger as a diversity hire

steps to a colony on mars that we're forgetting
1. build a self sustaining domed in area in the deserts of arizona
2. build another in a dome in the arctic
3. build a third at the bottom of the sea
4. build a self sustaining domed in area in a crater on the moon
5. build a series of floating colonies between the earth and mars
6. nuke the poles of mars to create an atmosphere
7. ban all muslims niggers and jews from stepping foot on red clay

Venus would be a candidate if you could actually live on the surface, but that's basically impossible to do. Mars makes the most sense, it has frozen (and liquid!) water underground and at the ice caps. It has a similar night / day cycle to Earth, has a gravity that isn't too rough but not too light either, has an atmosphere with CO2 that can help warm the planet, it has seasons, it can actually get moderately warm on Mars at times, not hot, but warm enough that the ice can melt and create streams.

There's no other options, and there doesn't need to be. Mars is a great planet to start off on for humans. It's close by, it's survivable on the surface and underground, and there is plenty of potential to terraform and create oceans.

Neither are you

what if we just send all the niggers to mars? will earth be habitable then?

The autism you two are display is on another level. Holyshit..

not biblical, not gonna happen

4 light years is a 20 year trip with current technology you ignorant bong. Go suck the Queens clit.

>stupid faggot doesn't understand that if you move at the speed of light you'll transform into pure energy and never be able to stop, in effect becoming a missle of cosmic energy that will destroy whatever your intended landing point was

I don't see why people who could afford that would willingly leave Earth with no chance of return. Being an explorer has only so many merits.

Mars has a shit tier atmosphere and it also lacks a magnetosphere so you will get blasted by solar radiation and most likely die a horrible cancerous death.

living on mars is suicide. it's a dead planet with terrible conditions, the wrong gravity, no shielding from radiation and once you're there you're stuck. it would make more sense to try to master the production and implementation of space colonies that orbit other planets while using robotics to mine the planets resources, or in the case of a nearly earth like planet, terraform it to our specifications.

I think you managed to almost replicate the lyrics to 'My House on Mars' by Ayreon.
Weird.

Because how are we gonna build the Enterprise if we can't even figure out how to get to Mars? Gotta crawl before you can walk.

All you fags who don't like it or don't want to go, simply don't go then. Stay here with your niggers.

The lack of a magnetosphere can be solved by building underground and using the rocks as radiation shields, Radiation can also be temporarilly negated by terraforming the atmosphere, which should last a few thosand years before the sun rips it away again.

>paying $200k to suffocate on a different planet
I suppose that's one way to be immortalized in history

it's a shame venus got fucked over like it did. if not for its slow rotation it could very well be a live planet right now.

>Stupid faggot doesn't realize that travelling 4 light'''years''' over the course of 20 '''years''', is obviously not traveling at the speed of light.

I hate to say it, but
>American education system.

Guaranteed the first man on mars will be white
Niggers BTFO yet again

>There's simply no way he will have his ship built / tested within 10 years

SpaceX is only 14 years old. From first conception of the company to flight of the first rocket was only 4 years. All of the heavy lifting, from building the production lines to the modular engines, has already been completed.

>What happens when the booster has a failure and doesn't get back to its target? It explodes in the atmosphere. Then you have a situation in which the astonauts are in orbit and basically have no way to get anywhere unless they can get back to Earth somehow.

Have you not ever heard of Launch Escape Systems? Virtually all modern craft have them, and they exist exactly to prevent this problem.

>I think it would make much more sense to build some sort of new ISS that could then transit to mars

A launch of the expendable variant of the SpaceX ITS can hold the equivalent of an entire ISS + 100 additional tons to LEO. Multiple launches to build up a space station is far more risky and expensive than a single launch.

>Then after that you can send the astronauts to the ship once its completed, refuel it and send it to mars orbit

This is already the plan for the ITS.

>he thinks they wont let the women step on first

>Implying a woman could endure the physical and mental strain
Not even Jews will waste a multi billion dollar endevour for the sake of diversity user. They will give everyone the finger before they lose shekels for nothing.

>Blow up a rocket
>oh haha it was a strut its ok guys
>another rocket blows up
>ULA sabotaged it haha its cool
>hey guys have this suicidal mars plan

The world will be better off when musk is gone.

Ok Elon...

I see your Mars and Raise you Earth plus Moon.

Rockets blow up more than you think retard, Space x just happens to be in the spot light right now. but 26 out of 28 launches is an exceptional record for any space vehicle.

Too soon, we need to sort out this globalism problem first.

Besides, I'll be long gone before Mars becomes it's own colony with multiple nations

You need more than that if you want to have manned flights.

He knows we want to land on mars, not blow it the fuck up right?

The moon's a ball of fucking dust.

Mars isn't much better, but the only thing colonising the moon has over just floating around in space is something to nail shit to.

Inb4 Jews all fly to the Mars colony then nuke earth

Elon Musk can't even fuel up a rocket, let alone send one to mars.

I thought it was cheese.

Yea, floating around hasn't been much of a success either for the sheer amount of effort it takes to add modules to space stations already floating around, its just a fucking headache.

1-2% of all manned rocket launches blow up. Those are all government launches thus far.

Mars can't keep an atmosphere ya dummy. It would just get blasted away by solar winds.

We will never go to another planet. You retards will believe anything.

I hope they enjoy their vacation in the Utah desert.

>still believing in the space NASA created

As a utahn I welcome them to our strange, alien land. I hear goblin valley nice this time of year

>Cred Forums
>hyped for space exploration
>when 99% here are brain rotten godtards who think the Earth is pancake and that it was "created" in under a week

The radiation will kill any colonists.

Super hyped.

but it doesn't mean much until mars has a means of manufacture. Though, this certainly facilitates that more than not.

You'll probably find Wangs and Pajeets shitting in designated shitting craters if you actually trust Elon Meme to pull through

$200k to get blown up in a rocket

Sounds fun elon

What the fuck would there be to do on Mars? Spacehookers and blow?

Think legos but for humanity.

Of course you'd have to be high to do that shit how fucking boring would that be.

nonstop breeding with the 4 or 5 females

That's what I said.

Because if people are on it, then it is no longer a lifeless rock.

An unexplained explosion on the pad is not an exceptional record you fucking moron.

Spacex has caught up in failures to the fucking space shuttle in less than a fifth of the launches, and musk has not been forthcoming in either failure.

protip: he's trying to hide the fact his in house helium tanks are poorly built.

> before the development of a sustainable terraforming strategy is deluded

If you think terraforming is necessary, you're retarded. Humans can live in self contained habitats.

He's a fucking meme. Wish i knew how to short his garbage stocks

Dudes got reusable rockets down, totally not deplorable.

We need a relay station around the moon where we can transport to and from the ISS, a base of operations on the moon, and another relay station on mars for transportation to and from the moon relay. Depending on orbital positions we'd save fuel launching when each relay is closest to each other... *headache initiated*

we should use a electromagnetic rail system combined with a rocket system that starts horizontal with a curvature to enter earths orbit at an angle.

we already got technology that can drop payload so if anything we should transport building and construction materials to the moon first. Like an unfolding 3d printer on wheels. lol.

the questions we're all asking when thinking about the $200k pricetag
strawpoll.me/11353484

>Don't speak so soon, buddy. I can afford that ticket and would do it just to spite you.
I'll throw you right out the air lock.
No one can hear you scream on mars

This is perfect

Tell the niggers they can buy a ticket with foodstamps.

funfact: the first few ships of people are probably gonna die

>>infinite quiet
perfect

There is absolutely no purpose for going to Mars, therefore it will not happen. The only reason Amerifats went to the moon was because they were at war and wanted to prove to the enemy that they had superior rockets and intellect.

>infinite quiet with no privacy and the US government monitoring all the porn you watch

why is this guy not being hailed as a legend in modern day technology? colonizing Mars was something out of science fiction and this man is about to do it. Not to mention the advancements is science we'll have because of it. wtf

Cost too much, and takes too much time.

Venus is where its at lads...

50-60 years away you are a funny guy. The coasting to Mars is a bout 18 months travel. No the main issue with a Mars colony is that it's only 40% of the earths gravity, which leads to bone mass loss for humans. Any human going there would have to come back at the next opportunity window.

But who gets to colonize it?

You think you can just drop a bunch of white people, of various national origins, into the planet and expect a utopia?

its just a meme, i dont know how this retard plans to prevent the humans he is sending from radiation, muscle and bone mass loss, eyesight loss, weaker immune system, lower volume in blood and heart related problems. he is just a meme that is rich and because of this all the redditors and retards sucks his cock as if he is the guy that is going to save humanity

>Venus
>HAVOC

Lads truely look to Venus. Don't fall for the Mars Meme

SPACE ASPERAGUS, SON

are you retarded?

interesting idea, but we would at least need some people on mars first before we knew what kind of mods we needed to actually make, no? and wouldn't the children born on mars theoretically be a little more suited to the environment with each generation? more used to the gravity and length of day, not to mention not freaked out about being on a different fucking planet

out of the thousands of problems with colonizing mars, that's one i can solve right now posting on Cred Forums: weighted vests. stay earthbound, brainlet

mars is way more habitable than venus

Good troll
>Mass and weight are the same

The hope is that it will motivate greater advancements in space travel technology itself.

evolution happens from a lot of death

you seem to be hallucinating

...

sacd.larc.nasa.gov/branches/space-mission-analysis-branch-smab/smab-projects/havoc/

have a read...

>habitable
Venus has one of the most Earth-like environments in the solar system... in its upper atmosphere

>retarded
No.

IMO solar sails are going to be way for mankind to acheive interstellar travel. Could you imagine a network of laser beams around the earth being used to accelerate our shuttles to absurd speeds? They are already working on this

I wonder if we could harvest Venus for her farts, transport said farts and use them as fuel to power existing technology or develop different technology that could use Venus farts as fuel or energy that would either emit less environmentally harmful waste, or be more cost effective while having the same effect on the environment as existing methods of power.

>your soul mate could be in another galaxy but because of current technology you will never meet him/her

Fucking this. It's a comfy 460°C and only 90 times the atmospheric pressure of earth. Literally paradise.

>460°C and only 90 times the atmospheric pressure

>on the surface

Building habitats in the Venusian atmosphere would be far more difficult than setting up on Mars.

Just in costs and materials alone.

NASA has a plan to colonize Venus, but not on the surface. They're thinking about floating cities... at around 60 km above sea level the pressure and temperature become much more managable, and the gravity is almost the same as earth

FAGGOT WHO USES GOVERNMENT LOANS

It's such a fucking stupid idea, we can't even do that on our own planet.

reuters.com/article/us-condoms-idUSN0943167020080609

>literally Columbia without the quantum theory excuse that the game itself couldn't even get right

Time for the United States of America and Venus.

Because we dont have the atmospheric pressure to do it. Inform yourself a bit before sounding like a moron.

>muh floating city

Dream on nerd

Plant powered Venus airships that got me thinking.

Growing thousands of biological hovercitys, inhabitable flying plants that breath CO2 and deplete Venus's atmosphere until the flying plant cities emit enough oxygen to sustain ground colonization.

I dont do any of that gay ass shit you mentioned and being able to get up every morning and look out at another planet besides this one would be enough for me

Well of course not, 60 kilo-meetrays above Earth's surface has too little pressure for floating cities to float on.

I'm excited that Musk is trying to accomplish something but there are several big problems with Mars colonization
>radiation
>low gravity (we have no idea what will happen to people who spend years living lower gravity than the human body evolved with)
>low temperature

>implying that's any different from life on Earth

That's pretty amazing but what I was getting at was genetically breeding plant life that would grow into an inhabitable enclosed environment.

A breathing living conscious spaceship that needs to breath and eat to survive.

>he wants leave Earth to go to Mars to look at Earth

Are you going to look out that window or lick it?

>more technically feasible
>airship colonies

Well, they're optimistic, I'll give them that.

They should do isolation test on earth that last at least 5 years so remove any candidate that aren't qualified.

I bet majority will drop out.

>radiation

Shielded underground buildings make up the colony

>low gravity

I'm not sure about this. Probably with exercise routines and accepting that health issues stemming from this will be a part of life.

>low temperature

This is pretty much not an issue. They would heat the air inside the colony.

>tfw
>post no picture

I was talking about looking out of the window and seeing Mars dumb ass

they'll never colonize mars, by the time we have the terra-forming technology that would be required, the earth will have been overrun by mudslimes and we'll regress back to the 14th century.

Low gravity is the most serious issue. They are just now discovering that long-term astronauts in the ISS suffer eye/retina problems due to the zero G environment. Maybe that won't happen at .4g or whatever Mars' gravity is, but if it does it means most people there will go blind.

Also, children born on Mars might never be able to visit Earth due to the much stronger gravity than where they were born. Fuck, they might not even develop right in the womb.

All they're gonna do when it's time is just drag another moon to another planet and colonize it with two colonies: one primitive colony and one advanced colony.

Humans are apparently pretty useful for terraforming a planet according to Babylonian legend.

Yes, cloud cities/floating habitats are more feasible than surface operations.

you could just live in arizona and do that and not suffocate walking outside

Think flying space mushroom.

Is Elon Musk our guy? Is he Cred Forums or is that a meme?

If meme, I propose we keep doing it until it becomes real.

>it's a documented fact that women require slightly less in terms of food and water than men
>they populate the Mars mission with women for the sake of lowering takeoff weight and costs
>the MRA finally pull through
>NASA removes one of the women and tosses some dude into the crew
>IRL harem

Current technology enables humans to live on Mars. Terraforming is a meme.

Because the rocketry is considered weopens grade they are only allowing Americans in on this. I think green cards might be allowed to a small extent. But its going to be 95% American.

An all-female Mars mission would end with devastating failure

>get sent to mars alone with 9 qts
>they all still friendzone you
>tfw stuck on mars forever alone

Can they send all the diverse STEM graduates there so all the non diverse STEM graduates can get jobs here?

>the day arrives for them to perform the very intricate landing maneuver
>just in time for their newly synced up periods to be in full swing

>no chance of return
Did you even fucking read about the project? You will be able to return to Earth.

elon musk is a meme

lmfao I actually typed out >inb4 just move to arizona. but decided not to include that. It wouldn't be the same. too many mexicans

Mars is harder to get to but easier to stay in since elon plan to produce rocket fuel on mars, And theres also water there

Not very, I will never go there.

I will be stuck on Earth till I die with the nogs, shitskins and SJWs

Just rape them ffs

But look on the bright side: now your Mars-like habitat has ACTUAL aliens!

Calm down there Muhammed

This. Did you see that European survivor season where they split the tribes into all males and females and by the third episode the males had a decent mini society thing going whereas females were in utter devistation?

>Maybe that won't happen at .4g or whatever Mars' gravity is, but if it does it means most people there will go blind.

it's such scam.
whatever dipshit we send there will die soon after and i will get a good laugh, so i kind of look forward to it.

Nope, the Japanese built something that could have tested it but they did not have a rocket able to launch it and we where too cheap to send it up in the shuttle for them. So all those billions spent building the thing are now rusting away in a Japanese parking lot. Thanks Obama.

Would've been better if the plan included mobilizing a rotating space station. It's a 3 month trip there. Also needs to send equipment there beforehand, namely life support systems and habitat (which Elon didn't touch on at all besides saying he's leaving that to entrepreneurs and start ups).

one of the saddest things i've every read

Apparently the return trip is intended to be free.
I guess that's one way to get into the history books: be the first person to get deported from another planet.

The stage beyond the observable universe is you, looking at the observable universe on your computer monitor right now.

>all white utopia

There are millionaire and billionaire Pacific Asians, Africans, Middle Easterners, Indians and Latin Americans who have more than enough money to afford these trips.

its okay though, if they do form a colony on mars it will be predominantly white to begin with, the exact perfect moment will present itself for a coup and and all the boons will be thrown back into shackels

that or they will actually be white boons and not chimps

nah m8 there are even more problems related to zero gravity and low gravity.

nasa.gov/externalflash/HRP_Feature/
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Effect_of_spaceflight_on_the_human_body

The key to surviving in Mars is breeding like niggers and then letting natural selection do its job, which is why the colony will need beaners like me. Over tens of thousands of years martian "humans" will have adapted to their environment.

This however is undoable because it would take too long a time and would need a constant supply of resources from Earth. In other words, a Mars colony simply does not make sense, due to the low gravity, at least until we can build machines that can control the forces of gravity for our own advantage. Sadly this will never happen either, because western society is already collapsing and will soon die out, leaving the world in a state of post apocalyptic commie anarchy a-la Metro 2033.

There are other ways.
First person to depressurize a hab module.
First vehicular manslaughter with a Mars rover.
First person to kill another with a rock on another planet.
First extraplanetary rape.
First person to push another into Valles Marineris.
First person to flash a Mars rover.
First person to sled down Olympus Mons.
First person to vomit in a space suit.

>implying you will ever return

why the hell is there even return trips? Mars side 4 lyfe, fuck earth plebs

But which Americans?

Over thousand of years, it isn't an instant process. There'd be plenty of time to replenish the atmosphere, assuming we can get the raw materials needed.

Inuits. I'm telling you.
They're adapted to long periods of light and dark, extreme cold, isolation and confined living conditions.
They're the perfect space colonists.

The ships are reusable, they go back to earth once they deliver their supplies.

>no chance of return
>american intellectuals

>Hasn't colonized moon
>Colonizing mars
This is just more "humans r cool and r in SPACE n stuff I guess hoomans are pretty advanced huh" bullshit. This is on the same tier as posting space pictures on facebook and talking about how much you love science.

>that feel when
Go kill yourself, newfag

The problem with your argument is that Mars will need to be developed to some extent before it's able to be terraformed. We'll need a self-sufficient society on Mars before we begin any large scale projects like that. Managing it remotely would be disastrous.

That's one solution, but I think that at some point in the future we'll be able to pool our resources and construct an artificial magnetosphere for Mars. It would take a long time and a lot of resources, but I think it's the only way of having a sustainable ecosystem on Mars.

I booked a solo ticket, leaving my family of four behind and getting tf off this rock. While your shitposting next year, I'll be dreaming of colonizing a new fucking planet in my cryosleep chamber.

nuclear power would be nice
>power centrifugal habitats
>power electromagnetic field generators
>power the co2 converters

Mars has no magnetic field, meaning we can't terraform it. We're gonna be stuck on this mudball until some extinction level event wipes us out. Feels bad man.

If you want a sneak preview of what life on Mars will be like during the first years, the research bases at Antarctica are more or less a prototype of what kind of civilization will exist, at least in the short run. It will be mostly researchers and people there to assist the researchers with physical labor, services and security.

If they can successfully warm the planet and get plants to grow, though, then eventually things will change. The Antarctic research facility is not going to be changing much because it will always be too damn cold to do anything down there other than conduct research. If Mars becomes habitable then eventually you will see the mission shift from purely research and terraforming towards growing crops and building cities.

I'd gladly work nuke on mars. I work in a plant here.

>Mars has no magnetic field, meaning we can't terraform it.

This is false and you should feel bad.

He is also bit nationalistic, and a unapologeticly defends American exceptionalism.

He is kind of a mixed bag, but it's pretty refreshing for a tech billionaire to not be a totally soft cunt

GEG

>something that happens over BILLIONS of years means we cant terraform mars

Literally we would loose single digit percentages of atmosphere over millions of years. Please kill yo self. nigga nigga bitch nigga

You just know they are going to get all those poor bastards into the capsule on the first launch at the capsule will be explode. The rocket will be completely fine and the escape system will fling a bunch of bodies into the air.

Is this a meme or something? The trip can take as little as 6 months

Because you know that it's true

Only 2 failures is still a pretty good record, especially for a relatively new entry into the market like SpaceX. Still, I do think test firing a rocket with the actual payload on board is a bit silly, the risks are high enough lighting a rocket engine once, let alone twice in one launch.

At the very least though, SpaceX does have much better control of the manufacturing process to make the necessary changes quickly since they make everything in-house.

First person to flash a rover while sledding down Olympus Mons

Loss of bone density only matters if you plan on coming back to Earth. Your body doesn't need as dense of bones in 40% gravity so it adjusts to compensate.

Literally who cares, if the purchasers of the launches are still willing to buy them, if colonists are willing to fly them who the fuck cares. They are the only ones who matter. I would fly one if given the opportunity. You only live once niggaz.

>be rich
>use money to move to mars
>no longer rich because i'm on another barren planet where money has no value and everything takes ages to arrive by rocket

Is there internet on mars? How will people on mars access to porn? Will they have to take their porn with them? How much porn is allowed?

how many nasa rockets exploded in the 50s/60s

2/28 doesnt seem bad at all this early in the game

The reason bone density is lost is because there is less downward force from the weight of the body on the bones, so they loose density to compensate. By adding weight, you increase the downward force and maintain density.

This doesn't work in Zero-G like on ISS, but in low gravity it's certainly doable.

>not flying to mars to be the first person to film martian porn

The Martian colonies will rise up against the oppression of the Earth Sphere Alliance!

>work hard and diligently in claustrophobic conditions
>you don't mind because you're used to life in a small room and staring at computers
>see slow progress over the decades
>the first settler pairs finally arrive
>grow old
>get sick
>drive out to your favorite cliff
>sit down, lean back against a rock
>watch the pale sun set
>turn on the helium

there are worse ways to go I guess

But we do have the ability to make floating cities on water, which is basically the same effect.

Yet while you do see large ships, there are no permanent "floating cities" in the ocean, despite having talked about it for decades.

Implying the corporations and mil industrial complex dnt ALREADY have vast colonies and treaties with other et on mars the moon and all over the cosmo, its like you wanna stay dumb forever user.

He describes himself as "Fiscally conservative, socially liberal" but I doubt he could give a rat's ass about Muslims, LGBT, the like. He just wants to make rockets and "save the planet."

Mars is a much better candidate for terraforming. To terraform Mars all you need to do is nuke the poles, pump out greenhouse gasses, and plant lots of trees and stuff until you have a stable atmosphere.

Venus you would have to bleed off a good portion of the atmosphere (somehow) and clean up the greenhouse effect on the planet (not to mention all the corrosive gasses and acid lakes at the surface).

Humans have proven to be much more effective at the first option than the second.

I been working on this bitches.

Firstly we launch with a few Pb of intertube cashes.

theverge.com/circuitbreaker/2016/8/10/12424666/seagate-60tb-ssd-worlds-largest

Then we use lazors to update our intertubes. We use a prophile for what ppl like to see in there intertube feeds and try to dl it ahead of time. Da uplingk is running 24.5 hours a sol / 7 sols a week. Mostly you get your intertube pages from the cash, if you need a new intertube page we send it to you (takes about 15 minutes to dl) along with every page that page had hotlinked from it. We try to anticipate your needs before you eve know what they are, we have a detaled prophile of everythign you like to see we know your porn habbits better than you. If you need to post or someshit we have some pajeet back on earth fill in captchas and shit. You aint got not privacy really but we do try to keep ppl looking at your loli hentai habbits to a minimum and forbid them from spilling your spagethi. This infact works so gud that when the fucking sjw's back on earth try to edit the history we got the best offisght archive of there shit.

Most of the bandwith and storage is in video, we got the libraray of gongress to deem colonies exempt from copyriht so we got all the best medias to waiste your time watching.

A centrifuge like that could be used to test the feasibility, but not the longer term effects of rotational artificial gravity.

You need a much larger diameter "wheel" to avoid a substantial difference in gravity between your head and your feet, which would cause severe disorientation.

>people have a chance to ask elon musk about his space mission
>people interested in science and space yeah! get into the crowd

Shoulda just shot them desu

I feel like only the "survivalist" autists would really enjoy that

>he actually thinks earth is a ball

There are return trips to reduce the cost. If the ships don't return they have to build new ones, driving up the price of the tickets.

>First extraplanetary rape.

It'll happen when they start sending refugees to Mars

WE WILL FIND THE TRAVELER LIKE DESTINY

>venus
>mars

man this is making me play destiny

Nah man you just do it on rats and then later on little monkies. Just look at the little monkie. Don't you want one with you in space?

theres no fossil fuels or oxygen to make fire and pollute with though

So I was thinking what if the WTC buildings were indoor ecosystems with hydroponic vegetable growth and apartment living quarters. You'd would never need to leave.

Maybe that's why marijuana has been illegal?
