Alright guys, I don't know a lot about trading so forgive me if this sounds stupid. Should I buy stock in Deutschebank and short it as the value goes to zero? It seems that it's going to collapse. Is there something dumb about this I'm not seeing? Help me out here.

There is always the risk of manipulation to prolong its life - but the risk to the financial system is so huge I would short financials or short the EUR on forex.
Yes, there is a fucking whole lot of stuff Cred Forums doesn't see. But this time I think we are generally correct, worries from Bloomberg to Zero Hedge from massive derivative exposure from DB are serious. If it collapses, it would be a dream come true to the alt-right in Europe, honestly.

Yes. They're being preoccupied with some certain algorithm guys (who've been doing great for the board - consistent 10+% profits daily for awhile now). While I appreciated the algos' kind input, I haven't heeded their advice because I never get enough time to think about their financials.
Anyway, volatility markets are big in Oct. imo. I wrote a blog about it a few days ago. There is a big storm brewing with the election season underway, and Mark Cuban is right for once when he says investors are scared of Trump. There are basically a million and one ways things could go wrong right now to throw markets out of whack. There is no incumbent president. Deutsche is in trouble with regulators and its bad derivatives. Assange is hitting it. Tomorrow, the FED's most hawkish person will make a speech. The FED is now divided on raising rates for November meeting. I could go on and get deeper.
Isaac Watson
why are they afraid of trump
Owen Anderson
bump
Parker Rivera
Nice trips.
It's the banker boys who're afraid of Trump. They're the ones who drive these bubbles into the dirt - look at how oil has had such absurd resistance since Feb 2016 (I won't elaborate on this if you don't follow this example). Trump has consistently made statements that the FED is political and he's implied it needs changing; he is unpredictable. Markets despise uncertainty, and to bookish investors, Trump is uncertainty manifest. Trump challenges the egos of these bankers - he calls their bluff with the rhetoric he brings forward, and investors are quick to flinch.
If Trump wins - and I think he knows this - markets will be unstable. Already, BofA says markets are "extremely fragile" based on VIX interday volatility reaching historical highs. The business cycle puts recessions every 8-10 years, and when was our last recession? Yeah.
James Rodriguez
His policies (If he means what he says) would be good for the bottom 99%, but as profit Is a zero-sum game, that means the top 1% and corporations would make less money.
Lower profits = lower equity prices.
Connor Brooks
pt. 2/2
The market bears and a lot of the opportunists enjoy Trump. Think of Shkreli-tier opportunists, who are who they are like contrarians, and the bears as salty dogs who've seen things and know the metrosexuals can't drive things into the dirt forever and run a debt-driven economy. That is the large minority of investors supporting Trump, and they aren't the ones who typically swoop markets in one direction or another when panics come.
Ian Wood
Trump is controlled-opposition. He's talking a lot of shit now to garner support, but if he wins, he'll side with the bankers over us.
Landon Brooks
Whether Trump is controlled opposition - I'm not even going to entertain that opinion, because it isn't substantiated enough to assuage market fears.
Clinton will just dig the ditch deeper, while Trump will have a greater chance of engaging some happening or another during his tenure.
Blake Reyes
If Trump wins, we can expect a rally on USD and on JPY against riskier currencies like EUR, AUD, NZD right?
Carter Parker
Not certainly, but it'd be something to look into. I don't trade currencies, but that would be a pretty good move as far as I can tell.
It's a good feeling when bantz and habbenings pay off your vacations and higher education. Be ubermensch.
Also, I'm a young guy. Not a pro. This isn't advice. Etc. etc.
Samuel Carter
I am not sure Trump would politically induce the FED to be hawkish, he does seem very keen on engaging in currency devaluation for trade against China etc
Kevin Brooks
Where are y'all gonna be watching stocks when it opens?
Jayden Robinson
No, he wants China to stop their manipulation. He'll just threaten to tariff, which they wouldn't like. It's similar in effect, but still different.
He's specifically called for higher interest rates.
Juan Hughes

I'm using the term petrodollar pretty loosely, but I'm sure the europeans would have loved to buy oil with euros.
that transition (or at least murmurs of) may have already begun in 2006-2007, which is, I suspect was the beginning of db's problems (more clearly so with the US fines being leveled last month)

It'll remain floaty until news of their DOJ fine will be. Investors don't know what to expect and are treading water at the moment. We'll probably get an answer before the end of the American government's fiscal year on November 14th.
For all the memes, DB itself isn't what is worrying people. Italian banks, four of which are basically dead and being used as "bad banks"/dump zones for toxic assets, could collapse Italy's banking sector which DB is invested in. The word for this is "contagion", and it's not a thing DB investors have control over so now most a fretting and don't know what to expect. The ECB is not prepared for an Italian banking crisis, which would plunge the EU into recession. This kills DB.

Either advanced delusion or mid tier trolling. Also - derivatives which loose their value are losses. How do europeans cover losses? By buying debt. >The meeting comes just days after a deadline to sell the banks was extended for a second time. If the four banks cannot be sold within two years of last November's rescue, Italy risks having to wind them down under tough European rules that came into force this year.
>The sale of Banca Marche, Popolare Etruria, CariFerrara and CariChieti, has become the latest banking headache for Italy's government, which is already struggling to sort out the country's third biggest bank, Monte dei Paschi di Siena (BMPS.MI).
>Economy minister Pier Carlo Padoan called the meeting on Monday with the bosses of Intesa Sanpaolo (ISP.MI), UniCredit (CRDI.MI) and UBI (UBI.MI) and Bank of Italy Governor Ignazio Visco. Padoan said the meeting had been called to deal "with a situation of transition not of crisis."
>Italy's leading financial institutions have already contributed 4.25 billion euros to a bank rescue fund - Atlante -this year. Atlante bailed out regional banks Popolare di Vicenza and Veneto Banca and is also meant to take part in Monte dei Paschi's bailout plan by buying a chunk of its bad loans.
>Italy, unlike Spain and Ireland, did not step in to help its banks during the 2008 financial crisis. Since then recession has saddled Italian banks with 360 billion euros in soured debts but the government now has fewer options in terms of fixing the banks due to new strict EU rules curbing state aid to lenders.
This is the real happening, and what DB is focused on. If the designated "bad banks" go bankrupt, or require bailouts, that means Italy enters recession and a lot of people (through pension funds, etc) loose money. Much as they did when Washington Mutual went belly up.
Jonathan Ramirez

> who cares about the middle class Commies like you sure a hell don't. Its because all the future engineers, innovators, doctors etc. come from it. Also a good chunk of the money that mrs merkel will need to maintain her credibility as a responsible debitor. > refugees create value If you count in drug deals, maybe. If you don't do that, they are a burden on the state budget, the one we earlier established, wasn't balanced for the last 40 years and was patched with debt remember. Maybe in the future, when all of them have opened a kebab shop and child prostitution is legal, maybe then they might contribute in a meaningful way. But until then its more debt, at a time you cannot afford it.

Muh DNA Racism is a social construct >If you count in drug deals, maybe. If you don't do that, they are a burden on the state budget Wrong. Refugees tend to work harder than the average German and will greatly contribute to the pension system. If Germany will exist in 100 years, it will be thanks to refugees

Well our motto is gas the kikes and hang every nigger from a tree.
Thats our motto because of what happened in 2012 and how the kike media destroyed our nice tame lolbertarian movement.
You're in a Ron Paul thread being a kike faggot reminding us all why we are what we are.

> work harder See that is not relevant. I'm sure many of them work very hard, harder than both of us right now. The problem is that what they produce while working hard isn't worth anything. You need to have a degree and language skills to be an engineer at volkswagen or even anything outside the service sector. Europe has sold off its manufacturing sector long ago, and nothing will bring it back, not even arab slave labor as you suggest. Why? Because the regulations, trade barriers and political corruption will never go away that killed it off in the first place. The only way to generate profuts out of the refugees is if you saddle them with debt - and create a new bubble that will pop like the db will in the near future.
Matthew Harris
I actually know her in person and she is great. One of the best women I know and very empowered
Jaxon Foster
>He doesn't know that refugees cost more than they produce and all the economist "studies" trying to say otherwise are just refugee propaganda
Refugees will only not cost $$ if they work a lot of jobs. Show me one study that proves refugees increase the economy that isn't based on shadowy "estimates" and bullshit "projections."
Everyone know the real reason refugees are being brought is to further the multicultural "experiment" -- basically dumb everyone down to sheep so they're easy to rule.
Luke Price
yeah go ahead and call me that, see, i dont give a fuck, you want to be racist, go ahead. I can easily talk about how half your country is nigger and ruining the whole of italy.
you half nigger country
Jaxson Russell
MFW I dropped the N-word in front of Niggers.
David Collins
You are very pessimistic. Anyway refugees are here to stay and hopefully more will come. I bet they will create a better future for the United States of Europe

> here to stay True. Just wait and see what happens when euro states run out of money to keep the social peace. Yugoslavia will look like a holiday resort compared to the carnage you and your fellow types have caused. This is not pessimism. This is the reality we are living in. It is admirable that you cling to your ideals in the face of overwhelming evidence, but at some point this will become dangerous for you and your loved ones.
Andrew Flores
dude see
Ian Gray
So the bank is fabricating numbers? Or are they circulating stocks between their own computers to try and encourage other people to buy?
I have little education on stocks so I'm probably dead wrong
Noah Diaz
It traded up into the old highs which will be a resistance level and a pocket of resting liquidity where traders looking to go sell can pair their orders.
Xavier Murphy
I just want it to happen, the below 10 drop was too much of a tease
Jeremiah Perez
When are they out?
Logan Fisher
good job today Fettucine
Carson Mitchell
they're literally standing their, throwing their stocks into the air in hopes to fetch higher prices.
> circulating stocks between their own computers to try and encourage other people to buy? I have a question. Why do you assume they are trying to get people to buy for any other reason than profit? I dont usually study equities charts, all my chart time is spent studying forex cash and futures. And in the forex its very common, it happens every day, for the market making banks to engineer price into areas of stops. They'll manipulate price up into an area of old highs where breakout traders will place their buy orders looking to go long, but who is selling it to them? The market markers. Then what do the market markers do? They engineer price to go lower. They take price higher to entice the dumb money to buy from them while they build up a short position then they take it lower and exit their short position for a profit. Whenever you exit a short position you have to buy. They engineer prices lower to entire people to sell and go short. When the dumb money is selling, who is buying it from them? The market markers, who are trying to build up a long position. Then what do they do? They manipulate prices to go higher then exit their long positions for a profit. When they exit their long positions who do they sell it to? The dumb money. Does this same thing not take place in the equities or is it only a forex thing?
